Ohhhh....dear. :wacky:

Come to think of it, I have completely forgotten about all the reviews of the game. I should keep my eyes peeled and see how other sites and publications score it. Come to think of it, I haven't heard many praising responses from the various FFXIV gamers around here either.

Another fail for Square Enix then? We shall see in case this turns out to be a love-hate thing like FFXIII all over again. But it's not looking too good, not that it really matters to me. I won't go near this game even with a long barge pole. :andry:

Well this is really bad. Two "bad" games in a row. What about people new to the series? They will be repelled because of the lack of good games, and they will think these games are what Final Fantasy are. Square Enix are going to have to start picking it up because people new to FF are not going to like it and people who have been playing FF are going to get sick of all this shit.

Damn man this sucks :(, I was really looking forward of playing this game on ps3 ..I loved my MMORPG times..and now finally a FF comes along but its biting the dust? its just blow after blow...it saddens me....

Im depressed

First off... what the fuck ironwill? And secondly this is total failure on square enix's part. Seriously a 4 for the pc version? I want to see what the ps3 version will get. I am really not satisfied with this score. It just makes me not want to get the game anymore :dave: Fail this is fail. Not that I ever cared for FF XIV. Yeah I did want to play it but that will be the ps3 version... IF things change..

Great, more fodder for all the bashers :ffs:

Gamespot's one site out of the many, and this is only the review of the PC version, so who knows? Maybe configuration was the largest downfall and the PS3 version will be kick-ass.

Ouch. Now I really think the PC version was rushed when Gamespot stated that it feels half-complete. I'm sure this isn't the last of the unfavorable reviews.

The PS3 version will possibly be a better port here.

It would be nice to see the PS3 version do well, I just don't think it will. They've already said that the PS3 version was delayed due to technical problems so it doesn't look great, plus MMORPG aren't console games, I can see it being extremely limited and dumbed down compared to the PC version, which, clearly isn't a good sign.

Dude, if the PC version sucks so bad, the PS3 version is only going to suck worse. The PS3 is inferior to PC's in ever aspect. (As well as the Xbox.) I regret to inform you, but the PS3 version is going to be fucking awful.

Exactly. I mean people take this ONE single review as complete fucking gold and base there entire fucking opinion on it. They did the same damn thing with FFXIII and it complete bullshit. I mean if you never played the game and you immediately say its bad I say keep that opinion to yourself on an FF forum, because you have no justifiable reason to hate it other than what SOMEONE else told you it was like. That is some utter complete bullshit, either play the game or dont play the game. Its that damn simple, and if you did play the game and hate it...that's fine but you dont need to rub it in other peoples faces thus giving them the thought that they shouldn't buy just because you thought it was shit. End rant.

Anyway  I would love to see what this game is going to look/act like on the PS3. Just for the simple fact I think that maybe it might just do better on the PS3.:wacky: And I dont mean play better than it would on the PC, what I mean is that it would sell better and maybe have a better interface. PC gaming FTW!

It's not just this one review. Even over in Japan, user reviews are coming in like crazy. To make matters worse, the majority of the Japanese reviewers hate this game, when normally they're biased as fuck. O_O

I've read several online reviews on this game some time before I joined this site, mainly from the Game Stop website, which I believe has over 10 consumer reviews. The ratings weren't very great. ("6.4% of raters would recommend this product to a friend.") But I'm not a big fan of online rpgs. I've heard some good things from one of my closest friends about XI, but I heard that XIV couldn't have gotten much worse.

Was this seriously supposed to be surprising in any way? Couldn't anyone tell how hard this thing was going to bomb? The only two good things I heard about this game when it was first announced was that Uematsu did the score and that Yoshida is the art director. But as soon as I saw that the races are just renamed versions of the XI ones I knew this thing would bite, and it went downhill even further from there. The gameplay looks so dull and unimaginative and I don't see anything new that sets it apart from other MMOs out there. Granted I didn't try this game but based on current fan feedback, that says something. Save your money and get Final Fantasy 4 Heroes of Light.

Seems like SE rushed this project - doesn't affect me seeing as I'm a Ragnarok player. It's kind of sad to see an FF game get this low a score from one of the biggest game review sites.

From what I've read, the interface is very console-centric, so I wouldn't take it as a given that the PS3 version will suck worse.

I've heard mixed things about this game so far. Some people seem to be totally in love with it, while others consider it the most loathsome MMO ever. Reading about it, I certainly get the impression that it's not a game that's going to appeal to the majority, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it is without merit. Other niche MMOs such as EVE Online (which I think is dreadfully boring by the way) have cut out solid cult followings for themselves, so I wouldn't put it past FF XIV to do the same.

Regardless, graphics will be dumbed down, performance is going to be abysmal, and no matter how "console-centric" you make an interface, it isn't going to guarantee that it's going to be good. PS3 owners are going to be getting the ass end of this game, which really isn't saying much.

Never said that it was guaranteed a better reception on the console, but chances are that the heavily menu-based interface will be received more favourably by console gamers if it was designed with that platform in mind.
