Multiple Platforms Front Mission

I wonder why nobody has made a thread for this yet...?

Anyway... I am a die-hard fan of the Front Mission series, which is like, the best Mecha-RPG series ever. I have played FM 1, 3, and 4, of which, my favorites are 1 and 3.

However, it seems this series is doomed to go down the tubes, IMO, as a new game is coming out, supposedly massively multiplayer.

What does everyone like/dislike about this series?

i liked the series...the games gave you tons of options when customizing your wanzer(mech) with the different weapons, wanzer parts, colors, techniques..u just could spend hours just fixing them up for a battle. The political storylines are interesting(eventhough i think that front mission 3 is better than the 4th) and point out corruption and giving a person too much power is a bad thing. The characters are well thought out with each having an extensive background and personalities. Plus it uses the same concept battle system as Final Fantasy Tactics...which is a good thing

Played 1, 3 and 4. Really liked the third one. Whenever someone compliments .hack e-mail system, I push Front Mission 3 in their face. I really liked how they put the internet into that. The wanzers and the way you could customize them were a big plus too, of course. Front Mission 4 felt like a slow and watered down version of 3, it was kinda disappointing.
