How am I supposed to kill him? My characters are around levels 12-14 and I got creamed! Is there some kind of trick?

One trick is to use a tent on him, this blinds and poisons him for the entire match making it virtually impossible for him to hit you. It may take a few tents as it doesnt always work first time so just use them till it does, thisl make the battle a hell of a lot easier.
The other answer to boss troubles is.....level up your characters.
