Well I recently got a Wii for my birthday. But I haven't really been paying much attention the games that have been released on this console let alone the ones which are worth playing.

So I have no idea which games would be worth getting and which ones are utterly shit. I don't really want it to just collect dust, so which games would you guys recommend for the Wii?

Note: I am already planning to get Super Smash Brothers Brawl and possibly Mario Kart. Oh and I already have Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

Good idea of getting Brawl, it's really cool^^
If you've got any pokemon games, get Pokemon Battle Revolution, that really rocks

Super Paper Mario is cool too, Twilight Princess also.

Sadly there arent any FF games for Wii yet ;_;

But anywaythe upper games are quite good^^

Brawl is an excellent game. There are many various characters you might have met before like Pikachu, Zelda, Mario, Fox, Donkey Kong etc.

I suggest you should buy Wii Fit. With the yoga mat and all. I don't have it myself but I heard that it's very interesting.
It really depends on what you like yourself. Ask other friends who have Wii or you know, just go to a shop and see.

And Happy Birthday! ^_^

I'd also suggest Super Mario Galaxy as well as looking at Zack & Wiki and Okami. Twilight Princess I would say would be worth it as long as you don't expect too much from it, it doesn't have the same impact as previous Zelda games but that's my opinion. The Fire emblem game is classic Fire Emblem gameplay but it doesn't look that good and the beginning is difficult as hell.

I'll strongly suggest No More Heroes since it's my fave Wii game and in my top 10 of all time. It's one you'll either get and love or hate every part of it which is sorta typical for Suda51.

ill suggest maybe the new dragon quest game, as that is on the wii and was originally made bu enix which is now square enix, other good games are zelda twilight princess

If you love doing crazy mini games stuff, go buy WarioWare: Smoothmoves. If you love Pokemon, buy Pokemon Battle Revolution. If you like Sim's games, buy Sims 2: Pets. :)

Super smash bros Brawl is a must have. So many characters to chose from and cool final smashes will get you playing like crazy. Also brawl has alot of stages to choose from. The online play lags very badly though. Pokemon battle revolution is ok but if you do not have diamond do not buy it. Tales of symphonia 2 is really good and is the continuation of TOS. It is a really good rpg and I reccomend it.

If you're into Resident Evil, I'd suggest get Umbrella Chronicles. It's more arcade-like, as it's a FPS but it's fun nonetheless. However, tt doesn't compare to Resident Evil 4, which I heard is amazing on Wii, but I wouldn't know cuz I have the PS2 version. If you don't have RE4, you could pick up the Wii version to add to your Wii library. I strongly suggest RE4 if you've neber played it, it's one of my favourites. From what I hear, the features are the same as the PS2 version but instead of the PS2 controller, you treat your Wiimote as a gun (same thing for Umbrella Chronicles).

But yeah, if you're into Resident Evil or FPS games go for Umbrella Chronicles.

Mario Pary 8 is ok for a while, but only if you're into multiplayer. Even then it gets a little old once you've unlocked all the minigames.

Others I suggest that have already been mentioned: Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess, Smash Bros Brawl, Wii sports and Wiiplay if you don't already have them and the new Mario Kart.

Ok, how come no one has mentioned Metroid Prime 3: Corruption? Awesome game.
I love all three metroid games (although i never finished echoes because it was stolen and have not been able to find a copy, and with 3 i was just renting it and am broke and cannot buy it) But ya. Get this game. I felt they used the wiimote very well. And if you liked the other 2, you will love this one.
If you like fire emblem, definatly get Radiant Dawn. Although you will want to play Path of Radiance first.

And as othe people have mentioned, Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princess

I gave simple but good enough reasons, but I'll expand if you want me too...

In PBR, you get the opportunity to transport ALL Pokemon on your D/P DS games, and you get to use them in game, which is what I did. I just used my main party.

It can be quite short, so, be prepared for that.

Just got a Wii eh? I know it's a little late now, but happy birthday SaShman.

I have a good pile of Wii games, so I have a handful of recommendations.

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. I had a blast playing through this game, I enjoying being able to play as a Wolf, and the new gear you can acquire (such as Double Clawshots and the Spinner, and plenty more), the gameplay is great, and I liked the story.

Music in it is good too, in my opinion, this is a great game all around, the biggest drawback I would say is that Wolf Link can't use any of the equipment... >.> But anyways, I strongly recommend this game, it is a lot of fun, and is pretty long, and can be quite challenging.

Super Mario Galaxy. I just fully completed this game for the first time yesterday, and enjoyed absolutely every moment of it. It was very challenging, and quite a long time required to get all 120 Stars, it can take 10+ minutes just to get some of the stars, it is one of the most challenging and fun games I have played in a long while.

The music is good for a Mario game, the gameplay is clever, love the effects of gravity, and as I said before, it will last quite a while before you get all the stars...that is if you can get them, there is one called Luigi's Purple Coins that is almost impossible, everything you step on falls or rotates... I very strongly recommend this game, and there is a little extra that is fun if you beat the end after getting all 120 Stars.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I know you've said you're planning on getting it, but let me tell you, don't stop planning! XD This is a fantastic game, with 35 playable characters (really 39 different characters and movesets however!) and 42 Stages to choose from, every Brawl can be very different than any other.

And on top of 42 Stages, there is a Stage Builder mode which allows you to create your own Custom Stages just the way you like (but with some limits, however, you can't place parts endlessly, not without codes anyways. <.<)!

Also, on top of all that, there is a very enjoyable Adventure Mode: Subspace Emissary. This you can play alone, or co-op! I enjoyed playing through it once myself, and another time with my brother. :D I can't recommend this game enough, it absolutely is a must-have.

Pokémon Battle Revolution. Before I say anything more about this, I must say there is next to nothing the game has to offer if you don't have Pokémon Diamond or Pokémon Pearl to copy your Pokémon onto it.

Now that that is out of the way, I'll start with saying the cons to it, then end with the good. Unfortunately, you can't do much with what your Trainer looks like, mostly what he/she wears, you can't adjust the fullness or shape of anything, the character itself really can only have the skin color, eye color, and hair color changed from what selection of colors you can buy once you can afford them and they are unlocked...

And the game itself isn't very long, you can probably just get through it the first time through in a matter of days, but after that you can participate in more tournaments at each Colloseum, being harder each time you beat it up to a certain point.

The music is alright, some of it is good, and some just average...but the gameplay itself is what kept me enjoying it for the most part, the graphics are nice, I like the commentary, it breaks some of the silence I'd grown used to in Pokémon games for consoles.

Overall, it is a pretty good game, I just enjoy the battling with Pokémon I like and have spent a lot of time raising in Pokémon Diamond, I recommend this game if you have either Pokémon Diamond or Pokémon Pearl Version.

Mario Kart Wii. Okay, now this game is a blast, literally! But seriously, this is the best Mario Kart game I've ever played, and by a fair bit, which is saying something since I have enjoyed every Mario Kart game I've ever played quite a lot.

The music is fun, catchy, nice, and fantastical (Rainbow Road comes to mind here. And yes, Fantastical is a word, no spelling error appears. :P), and there are more racers than ever (24), and I was blown away by how many tracks there are! There is 32 tracks to choose from to race on this time around! ^_^

There are several good playable characters in it too, Rosalina is one of my favourites if not my favourite (from Super Mario Galaxy), and a lot of the tracks are good too, I was very pleased with this game, I just couldn't have hoped for more from it. I very highly recommend this game, it is a great party game, like Brawl.

There's my top 5 recommendations to you, hope they help, and I do realize this post is ridiculously long. XP

I'd just like to say that I found The Mario Kart Wii game to be extremely difficult if you didn't play with the wheel. I felt like such a n00b when I was playing with the Wiimote because I sucked so hard. Wheel controller makes it loads easier. I think it comes with the game so it shouldn't be much of an issue, just thought I'd mention it.

Oh, an awsome thing about Mario Kart Wii is that you can play as the hot Space Queen from Super Mario Galaxy :wacky:

Twilight Princess I would say would be worth it as long as you don't expect too much from it, it doesn't have the same impact as previous Zelda games but that's my opinion. .

I was dissappointed in that game. I love the idea of the twillight world, but think of how the old BEAUTIFUL graphics of say, Ocarina or Majora, would have done to that world. <3 I miss the older graphics soooo much!

Anyways, Mario Galaxy, Sonic Rings, Raving Rabbids (also good on PS2).

....I'm really wanting Pokemon Revolution for the Wii. XD But sadly, it's been out for ages but the price won't go down. A new copy is still like $50. T^T To bad I can't shop online.

I loved Twilight princess. It was the best game on my wii. My sims wasn't bad and I liked COD 4. I hate mini games so raving rabbits isn't my thing.

Now for red steel. I liked it but no-one else that I know did. The annoying thing about the wii, aside from graphics, is that most wii games are better on the PlayStation or X-box. Except the shooters and games like zelda.

Agreed there, the graphics will have aged of course but the style of Majora's Mask was just awesome. One of the biggest reasons I would say why it was my fave Zelda on occasion. Twilight Princess while not a bad game just doesn't have it's own identity. While all the Zelda's follow the same path this was the first that felt like a paint-by-numbers Zelda and just seemed like blatant fan service in some ways.

Forgot to mention but if you haven't picked up a copy before now then the Wii version of Resident Evil 4 is worth a look, everything from the previous versions plus Wii controls that actually work well.

Also if you look online at the Virtual Console and WiiWare service there are some nice gems from previous generations some which haven't been seen in the West (Sin and Punishment) or are rare/expensive (Secret of Mana/Mario RPG) as well as a lot of Nintendo's own classics like Zelda, Mario etc.

Some decent games to look into are:
Super Mario Galaxy
The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
MarioKart Wii

Those are all Wii games, the Virtual Console has many more old games that were great for the time (and that I still like). I suggest you look into the Virtual console. D: Plus it's cheaper. (Remember now, it's not all about the graphics!)

Tomb Raider Anniversary is quite a lot of fun. Lara's recent games have been absolutely diabolical, but this one really brings the series back to life. The controls work perfectly, its of reasonable length, and is most definetely worth a look in if you're a fan of the series.

Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition is another good game, as well. Sure, its exactly the same as the Gamecube version, but the extras included are from ALL versions of the game (trust me, having Ashley in a suit of armour is incredibly helpful) and the controls are considerably better than the GC version. Even though I'd completed the Gamecube version, I bought the Wii version, and was not disappointed.

Animal Crossing: Let's Go To The City! is a controversial one. If you liked Wild World on the DS, chances are you'll enjoy this as well. Base your interest on how long you played the other games before you got bored of them. Tack on a little more time (the extra features give it a little more play time than its predecessors) and base your judgement on that.

Despite the fact that a lot of people are recommending it, I am going to advise against buying Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The Subspace Emissary Mode is remarkably short, a lot of the new characters are recycled ones in terms of movesets (I mean, Fox, Falco and Wolf have IDENTICAL moves) and it gets very boring very quickly. Melee was a lot better, and Brawl doesn't deserve the hype it gets. Avoid it like the plague.

Despite its somewhat anti-climatic finish and generally disappointing Halo-ish feeling - Ghor, Gandrayda and Rundas were wasted opportunities for a good storyline - Metroid Prime 3: Corruption has excellent controls and is definetely worth a look in if you enjoyed the previous Prime games. Be warned, though: it suffers from the same length problems as its predecessors did.

Twilight Princess is a must! And Okami looks like a lot of fun too! I have the PS2 version and can't say I LOVE the game, but I imagine it's a lot more enjoyable on the Wii. It's a beautiful game. :)
