Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

...to those of you who celebrate it =D

I don't but yeah...that's my partners fault for not ever buying me anything >_<

I hope that those of you who have someone dear to you receive a special something.

For those of you single people I hope you get the 'Secret Admirer Rose' and 'love-note' that most people hope to receive on this particular day.

Enjoy it! =D

It's still Friday the thirteenth :monster:

I don't really bother with Valentines day, it's shit, just another damn reason to have to go buy a cunting card. Card shopping is by far one of my most hated chores. It puts me in a bad mod everytime. I certainly don't bother with buying presents, arent birthdays/xmas enough? I guess Im just a miserable old boot :monster: Something else thats overpriced and over rated. I swear the prices of flowers quadruple >_>

I think we are off to the pictures and the pub tomorrow....it's more an excuse to go out than anything really

I don'tt think there is a single occassion I actually like, I hate Birthdays, xmas & Valentines Day...easters ok I suppose, although the eggs are in te shops ALREADY :gasp:

Edit* Uh, Happy Valentines people :gasp:

Valentines day, a day dedicated to self indulgence, quite like christmas and birthdays, but its more focused on couples feeding each others ego's....

happy suckers...i mean valentines day i guess.

I just hate the way people get all soppy and mushy over VD (olol xDDDD) I ahte all that stuff at the best of times. Im glad we arent going for a meal or anything, the idea of watching couples moon over each other knocks me sick xD

I was drinking some water while I read that and I almost spat it all over my monitor xDD

Lmao yah I am way over that stage of my relationship >_< I'm not a very lovey dovey person myself. =P

I hated it in school because all the ditzy chicks got like a million roses and what not and I felt left out...I think I just need a hole filled somewhere... <- sounds funny

It's so good my partners family are Jehovah's. Only have my family to worry about >_<

Happy Happy... Joy Joy... Happy Happy... Joy Joy... (ren and stimpy)

All I got to say is I still have a good 14 hours till this Holiday starts. Only thing about the Holiday I'm looking forward to is I get to start kicking the ole soccer ball around again, providing my knee hasn't stiffened to much since the surgery.

Other than that.. this Holiday likes to gut my pocket book.. so Have a good one..

Meh. There would be little point in me celebrating Valentines day as I'd have no-one to spend it with. I could always 3 cheers to the mirror or something.

It'll just be a normal day for me. Some people love it, usually people that actually have partners of some kind. But for everyone else is tends to be a day people get depressed because they just see how happy and skippy other people are. :O

Yeah some people really take it to the extreme with the whole dinner/hotel/jewellery stuff. Which would be nice and all but I would prefer getting those things because my partner wants to do those things for me. Not because he has too, just because of a particular holiday. >_<

...Suckers? Couples feeding each other's egos? I'm sorry but yeah, I take offense to that. Reason why is because Valentine's Day is the day my son was conceived...tomorrow has important meaning to me, while it might not to you.

Every year since we've always celebrated Valentine's Day and we hardly feed each other's egos either. Nor are we suckers for spending and celebrating V-day together either, thanks. Typically we just watch movies, go out to a nice dinner together or I make us a romantic, candlelight dinner.

We usually get each other chocolates and he brings me home a bouquet of Roses along with a piece of jewelry or something and I typically get him a DVD or something he really wants bad. That's not all V-day is to us. Honestly, we weren't originally supposed to be able to have children and I can't have anymore, so it's a rather important day for us because we were able to conceive and I was able to carry our son. That's what Valentine's Day is to me.

And that is exactly how it is supposed to be. I don't think he was trying to be offensive, but being alone can be hard for most people. Even if they don't like to admit it, they would rather have someone to celebrate it with, than not celebrate it all.

Valentines is not about "revalidation" of love... you are already supposed to have it, so if the girl is always expecting something "huge" and get your mind out of gutter.. I mean a diamond ring.. well I feel for the guy that puts up with it.

Lucky for me.. I have, excuse me had a little cash to throw the ladies way.. but hey.. sometimes you just gotta give to get a little. (and no not in that way either) Just don't go buy to much.. it's pathetic.. and don't be gushy or you might get sniped.

Love it up ya'll.. Have a great one.

Thats how Valentines Day should be for those that can celebrate it.
It's a time for couples to appreciate each other I guess.

But as a holiday, though I've never treated it as such, it isn't able to be celebrated by everyone. But those lucky enough to be able to put some sort of meaning to it should carry on as they please.

I agree that splashing out huge money on necklaces etc could be a tad too much. If I ever get blessed and end up being able to actually celebrate this day I sure hope the bless doesn't become a curse and I'm left with booking an expensive cruise or something :O.

Post count is disabled so I guess no need for a long winded post. :P

They do actually, I would only trust Flowerama, but even they cannot be trusted. :P

I dislike the day before valentines day.. Its the day one of my exs broke up with me. :P

One of my good mates ex's broke up with her 2 days before Valentine's... yet he still went and bought her a gift for Valentine's >_<

They were together for almost a year and he was one of the prickiest guys ever. I'm amazed he even did that after breaking up with her =0

Still The bad day Friday the 13th here.

If you want to be negative about it anybody, please do it elsewhere. This day obviously means something to some people, so don't try to ruin the moment.

And as its still the 13th here, I'll post an official message later.

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone - to those who kinda celebrate it, I guess. xD As I was telling Shu on the SB last night about how I view Valentine's Day, it's just a little sentimental thing for couples out there, because let's face it - not everyday is romantic for us. Not saying Valentine's Day should be an excuse to get all lovey dove with one another (should try to aim for it everyday if at all possible, which is not) but it does enhance the special moment, if you know what I mean. No need to get all extravagant with showering your partner with gifts and jewelrys and expensive restaurants, but hey, if some people do it that way, then good for them. Just means they have a 'high-class' way of showing their love and appreciation to their partner. Nothing really wrong with that, although others do tend to 'demand' it and that's not a good thing. Like Kandy-Sugar stated, it should be something that your partner would want to do for you, not because they're obligated to this particular event.

My typical Valentines Day would normally consist of having dinner with my husband, writing him a love letter or poem, painting/drawing something for him (although that would require planning ahead of time) and giving it to him as a gift for V-day, getting him a little cute something from Wal-Mart (one time I bought him cat slippers - he still wears it to this day), and just any special thing I could think of that would fit my little budget.

On Sat. we're booked on this awesome Medieval show/event/restaurant and I'm quite excited. That's really all we plan to do although we might think of something else. We'll probably watch a scary movie after. xD
