well I really never thought he's a guy until my friend told me. that time I haven't gone too far in the game but I always thought he's just some tomboy. I was like 'OMG are you really sure???' when my friend told me. haha I guess I wasn't just familiar with japanese culture and stereotypes back then. damn why do japanese developers like to design female-looking guy characters.. hehe. how about you?

When I seen the japanese shots in some magazines a few years ago I did think he was a girl. But on english translation, I discovered he wasnt!
 
well Kuja's more like it.:rolleyes: just by the name. I guess if you're not very familiar with anime you won't have any clue.

ZIdane I always knew was a guy, I never even thought he was a girl ever.

I also knew Kuja was a guy, but his body states otherwise..
 
The image of him in the first CD looks a lot like a woman...but in the game he always looked like a boy...you see it after FFIX that the main guys look like little girls.

I never really mistook Zidane for a girl. Sure, he had relatively long hair, but his lack of female presence stood out. That... and his male identity was spread all over the game from the first instance you play as him. I highly doubt they'd have a female character getting horny over another female on a Final Fantasy game. ;p

Not a hard detail to miss...

But really, Square seems reluctant enough as it is to introduce homosexuality into their games. With valid reason, seeing as most of those playing these games are sheltered youthes. Zidane's womanising was just... blatantly obvious.

I haven't really reacted to any of the main characters looking gay, I usually tend to look at the game :p
 
When you play the game, you tend to get involved with the characters, and realise whether any of them are gay.


Those scenes were just faggy, and riddled with fail. Stereotypical teen-girls who prance around in warm water. As for the massage scene... well, my brother thought I was making them have anal sex. xD (he didn't know it was a female on top).

No, I have never mistaken Zidane for a girl, although I must agree he does look awful feminine in some of the FMVs :|
 
i thought zidane was a girl until i looked at the character picture

as for kuja i thought that he was a girl until brahne said that he was girly faced
 
And what about Freya? I thought she was male when I lookded in the Booklet but when I arrived in Lindblum I was told otherwise by Zidane
