Hey,

Just at the Macalania cloister of trials and I'm finding it quite hard. Basically couldn't do it so I tried following a walkthrough and I still can't get it done - the problem I've got is that I can't construct the whole bridge - all the parts except the first part are constructed. I don't know if that makes perfect sense to anyone, but I followed this walkthrough:

This one is a bit tricky. First push the pedestal east, this will break the
ice. Then take the Macalania Sphere from the slot at the RIGHT wall and
insert it into the pedestal. Now, push the pedestal north, this will reveal
a passage that leads below. Remove the Glyph Sphere from the CENTER pillar
and go down to the next area. Here, insert the Glyph sphere into the LEFT
recess on the north wall. This will reveal another Macalania Sphere. Push
the pedestal with a Macalania Sphere east into the gap on the pillar to
form a part of the ice bridge above. Go back up, take the new Macalania
Sphere and head back down. Insert it into the recess on the LEFT pillar to
form another part of the bridge. Now go back up, take the last Macalania
Sphere and insert it into the recess on the CENTER pillar to complete the
bridge.

Go up but don't cross the bridge just yet, instead step on the shining
panel on the floor to make the pedestal appear near you. Then take the
Macalania Sphere and push the pedestal down. It will embed itself to
the ice on the other side. Go down and insert the Macalania Sphere into
any slot below. Head back up and step on the shining panel again. The
pedestal will be beside you once more, but this time with the Destruction
Sphere. Take it and go down to the basement area. Here, insert the
Destruction Sphere into the RIGHT recess at the north wall. This will
reveal a treasure chest with the Luck Sphere. With that done, rebulid the
bridge and proceed to the next area.

I do the whole first paragraph, but the bridge isn't fully made, and there is nothing for me to stand on or cross? Maybe I'm just being daft and not doing something thats simple and straight forward but I've been stuck at it for a good hour now and thought I'd ask on here for some help. I don't particularly know if this is the place for it, and if its not could someone put it in the right place. If you need mroe information to help then just ask :)

I can't quite remember, ill look it up on GameFaqs if noone else knows though.

Until then i'll move this to the help booth ^_^

Hmm...out of all the cloister of trials i did...i remember that one was the hardest. I got it eventually, but that LOOKS right. i cant remember, but mabey you've got the sides the wrong way round...

I could just be too drunk, but the way that paragraph is worded may have confused you a tid-bit. Anywho, this is how I did it:

  • Upon entering the trails, the first thing you do is move the pedestal to your right, which stops upon breaking the ice. Then push it north, breaking more ice; but the pedestal falls to the platform below.
  • Now that you way is clear, take the Glyph Sphere (the green one) from the first pillar you see upon entering, and place it in the recess downstairs on the left-most side.
  • This will raise a platform on the floor above you, revealing another Macalania Sphere. Take this sphere, and go downstairs.Place it in the pedestal, and push it to your right. This will activate one section of the bridge.
  • Go back upstairs. Run to the furthest right-side, and collect the Macalania Sphere from there.
  • Go downstairs again, and place it in the pillar just to your left. You now have no further business on this level.
  • Back upstairs, there is one final Macalania Sphere remaining, which was creating a path between the upper and lower levels. Take it, then place it in the final pillar. Your path is now complete.

However you'll want to obtain the secret item within here, so make sure you're comfortable with THIS method so you can tackle it all again now, rather than later. If you decide it's too much for you now, you'll not cope when you have to fight an uber boss to get to it later on. Trusting that you have the EU version. If not, your way is clear later on in the game. However either way, it's strongly advised you get this room over and done with.
