I just borrowed this game from a friend.
I got to the part where Aeris was taken away, and then part of the graphics became white squares, I can still play but it gets annoying when you can only see parts of the sentences and half of the screen.:(

After the release of FFVII for the PSX, FFVII was released on the PC. I remember because I owned both version. The same is with FFVIII.

It seems that there are many problems with both PC versions of the PSX games. Some have recommended that you play both games using an older video card. Possibly a video that dates around 1999-2001. I dunno if an older Geforce 2 or equivalent card will do the job but I have read that modern cards causes problems.

I also attempted playing FFVII on the PC, but I had many problems with it too. I just gave up and played it on the Playstation, much easier and less hassle.

Actually there is a few problems, but you can work around or fix most of them. There is people out there who has made character sets that replace the blocky original characters, which makes that game playing a whole new experience.
I played the psx version many years ago, but now I am playing again, enjoying the game in a whole new different better way.
Then again, this is all in your perception, and is different to everybody. What is better to one does not mean it is better to another.
Everyone needs to try and judge themselves.

Tell us what system you have. Like what operating system you use. What type of pc you have. How much ram, what video card, etc....

Follow advice suggested in the links that I listed. Some one there at that forum might have advice for you.

One warning though, if you are using a pirated copy, they will refuse to help you.
