Does everybody get a weapon (be it secret or not) that breaks the 9999 limit? I got Tidus' weapon from the Chocobo thing (past it my 2nd try =]).

Yes, everyone in the game has an Ultimate Weapon somewhere that they can obtain.
However, if you equip them at first you will not gain any AP for your characters. You have to find/earn each characters' Crest AND Sigil and go to Malcalania Woods to level up the weapon to break the damage limit of 9,999.

You can add break damge limit to a costum weapon by using 60 dark matters. do that or as said before get the sigils and unltimate weapons. Cheers mate.
