Hunt: Where is the Gil Snapper?

Does anyone know where the Gil snapper is? I'm on the Giza plains/tracks of the beast map but can only find Silicon tortises. I kill them all and they just come back.:mad:
 
Has to be the rainy season, then zone repeatedly until you get heavy rain, you'll see him.
 
Yeah, the weather has to be just right, raining hard. Just keep going in and out till then just kill the silicon turtles to level up.
 
yeah really just what the other 2 said.Just go in and out till it appears and killing the Silicon Turtles to level up ^_^
 
not to mention, if the gil snapper is available, the dude who fights with you (name escapes me) will tell you immediately when you enter that area, if he doesn't say it's there then it it aint there and you gotta wait 'till the next rainy season.
 
Thanks all! I found him but couldn't drop him. Went to level up and buy better wares and came back to find, the dry season.
 
I'm having the problem where I keep zoning in and out of the Tracks of the Beast in the rainy season, and he never appears. I went all the way through one season and never saw him. Is it because he disappears at a certain point in the story? I'm frustrated... grr...
 
Here's the secret ladies and gents, I am vaguely remembering this since it was a while back since I fought him.

1) You have to zone out twice - Just move two zones over and then come back (where the save crystal is generally)

2) Don't touch the save crystal !!!

What you said didn't work for the fact that for some reason, the Gil Snapper was showing up there, but my helper wasn't telling me he was. I walked in, attacked what I thought was a regular Silicone and... hey!... just happened to be good 'ol Gilly. :)
