Yeah, I thought about this last night actually, while I was at work...o.o''
(yes I was that bored)

I was thinking, as amazing a game is FFX, if you could change it in any way, if you HAD to chose a reason for changes...what would you personally do? If any changes at all!

--I would personally try and spice up the dialogue a bit imo. At times the scenes were a bit flat, but like I've said in another thread, the rest of the story made up for it. Graphically nothing, charecter wise, nothing. Sphere grid was the best, so it's hard to find something to change. But maybe that's just me?

Hmm I quite like how the game is but I suppose I'd change some of the voice acting in certain parts and maybe re do weird scenes like the laughing scene to make them not so weird. Also take 2 minutes off blitzball time. :ryan:

I think the "exploration" aspect was a bit lacking. Ten was definitely the first game to take an overly linear design, which was a huge change for the series. Personally, I enjoyed roaming the overworlds of Six-Nine and looking for places to level, hidden draw points, and stupid Chocographs. Ten took that away for the most part, leaving me with the ability to search by coordinate for a grand total of THREE hidden areas.

Alternately, I don't think this negatively affected the game. I still thoroughly enjoyed Ten, and I appreciate the fact it made itself out to truly be a new Final Fantasy game. At the end of the day, I don't feel cheated because of the lack of exploration...but a little more might have been nice.

Oh for the love of all things sacred...CUT THE LAUGHING SCENE.

I love the laughing scene, it's quite funny at the end when they turn around and the rest of the gang think they're going crazy, I thought it was a heart warming moment.

Anyway back on topic, as nice as the battle system was, I didn't like the turn based way it had, at times it made it a little too easy, and it was unrealistic as you would be standing around for a time and no one would do anything as you were deciding to cure or attack o_O

And Seymour, that guy bugged me, get him out! :gonk:

Seymour sucks man, he talks like he has mouthful of worms! I'd change that too XD

Not much to change in the game, it's really great as it is. But for the sake of the thread, I'd say I'd change......(Thinking, thinking) Seymour's voice, I didn't like it too well, but I guess they did that because they knew no one would really like him

I was pretty satisfied with the game, but I'd have loved to have seen more 'secret' locations/dungeons around Spira. A few more dungeons with bosses along the level of difficulty as the bonus bosses wouldn't go amiss.

I would also have liked to have seen more scenes with Seymour, for I consider him an interesting villian.

I would get all new voice actors, actors that knew what they were doing because they ones in FFX were terrible most of the time!!

I would also make the game a little less linear!

oh and I'd get rid of Wakka all together!!

other than that, there's not much to change about FFX :D

I was never really a fan of the new system where a simple touch of a sphere would instantly heal you on the spot. I can't say I've enjoyed a similar mechanic being used for FFXII either and I would have loved to see the various towns that are there in FFX and the various travel agencies dotted around to have/act just like the normal inns of previous FF games. The travel agency thing was a decent concept that made sense - moreso if they helped act like actual places of rest for the party in the more rural areas of the game.

As for Seymour, I had a little mini-debate to myself about him. His constant reappearance in attempt to beat up your party each time is a significant display of just how persistent that bastard is, although it came with a bit of a sacrifice. He quickly loses his sinister aura with each return, and while the actual fights with him may be a bit nail-biting at some parts, he's ultimately reduced to being more of a pest in my view. If they manage to keep that balance somehow and preserve Seymour as someone that did seem like a dangerous, lingering threat to the whole world, then that'd be perfect. With Seymour as he is (though still a nice, twisted bastard of a villain), his potential did fall flat.

Oh yeah and err...revise the laughing scene a bit. It did sound too forced - which may have been the point, but my ears beg to differ. :wacky:

I'll probably get slapped for saying this :lew:, but...

I would make Yuna a young child (between 7 and 12 yrs old), and by so doing, eliminate the TidusxYuna romance entirely.

It would make the game's focus on Tidus and Jecht a lot more obvious and stronger if Yuna could not possibly be a love interest. However, her attempt at sacrificing herself for Spira would still be just as sad if she were a small child, so the emotional impact there would be very similar. I think this would've made the game loads better--oh, and also, I would've made the ending a lot longer and more detailed, because its shortness and lack of dialogue sucked an egg :jtc:

1. Get new voice-actors.

2. New level designs; many of the areas were rather linear, and the game didn't allow much room for exploration (Which is something the earlier FFs satisfied by including world maps and layered dungeons).

I'd get rid of half the Seymour fights -.-

I mean, the fck. You fight him like 12 times >.<

I thought the combat system was nice, with the bonuses to flight w/ Wakka, etc.

Music could have been better... Nobuo T_T

I honestly think this game is almost perfect;
sure,it's very linear(not as much as FFXIII though, thank God),but if it benefits the story,as it seems to,I don't mind.

But to dredge up something..........:hmm:hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
mmmmmmmmmmm.....Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh........

Add some Pink Floyd?Everything's better with floyd.

That or Guile's Theme:).

I think the game is perfect..

But it would of been nice if you could've chilled out a zanarkand for a bit at the beginning of the game as well as Bevelle....Man!! out of all the places to chill out, they don't let us explore and relax in Spira they don't let us in Bevelle. :hmph:

And maybe another thing would've been to add a sub-plot including Lulu....cos you dont really get that much from Lulu in X,yet she's cool as hell.

Love the game, love the visuals. Love the story, love the ending. Love the music.
The complete product all together, I wouldn't change a thing.

However... :whistle2:

Moments pop in where I hate what they did to certain aspects of the story, but I wouldn't change the game. I wish the person(s) who created the story would write a novel, however long it is, on the X story no holds bars.

There are points in the story where things absolutely lost their significance, or any possible exploration of story-wise, and some characters lost what good factor they had.

I really felt like there should've been more to the story, but they had to cut back. But if anything was changed... I think it would've affected or (in the worst case scenario) take away from the ending of the game, and to change that is to spit on the game.

...It was so beautiful...:sad2:

I love the game as it is, but I'd perhaps tweek dialogue here and there, and get a different actor completely for Tidus. Rikku would display subtle gay tendencies :) just as a fan-service to me.

Exploration was somewhat lacking (the game was linear, but seemed more so than it was at the same time), so there'd be much more free-roam time throughout the game, and not just at the end.

Well I would change the weapon system a little, it seemed to weird for me how you could...upgrade them?
I would also change how you find out about
Yu Yevon at the end of the game, I would try and give hints about him before hand

I would also change fighting Seymore 10 times down to like...3?

I would also add a little more in the beginning
maybe being able to explore Dream Zanarkand for a couple days or something before getting swooped into Spira

I'll probably get slapped for saying this :lew:, but...

I would make Yuna a young child (between 7 and 12 yrs old), and by so doing, eliminate the TidusxYuna romance entirely.

:O

I'm a sucker for romance, so that would nearly ruin the game for me.

But as a couple others have said, I'd probably change some of the voice acting, maybe alter a few of the more awkward scenes. Other than that there's not much I'd want to mess with.

I would change the characters, the voice acting, the battle system, the story, and most of the music.

EDIT: Ha, the whole game :D That somehow didn't register until now
