My friend is being quite annoying and claiming his brother played FF7 and named Red XIII Nanaki, which made him stronger. Does Nanaki=stronger? Because I don't believe him. Just trying to prove a point.
I'm pretty sure that naming Red XIII Nanaki does nothing but make it confusing in parts where he decides to mention that his real name is Nanaki and not what you have been calling him. I'm pretty sure that naming him Nanaki gives no attribute bonuses of any kind.
I named RedXIII Nanaki on one of my playthroughs, but I don't remember him being any stronger because of it. I doubt that changing a character's name in the game make any changes in its atributes. If you really want to make sure yourself, you could just start the game over and check his status after you name him.
I doesnt change anything. The names are just to personalize the characters in a way you like. Lol, your friend was trying to pull a fast one on you, it seems.
The only effect that naming him Nanaki has on the game is that it becomes rather confusing when you get to Cosmo Canyon and everyone asks who Nananki is.
Yeah, it doesn't do anything. Just some gratification if you already know what his real name is and you want to call him that versus what that sad excuse for a human being Hojo named him. 0.0
I would have figured that when you get to Cosmo Canyon with him and call him Nanaki, they would have given him a different name...like they did in FFVI, as in if you call Edgar Gerad, he calls himself Edgar when you meet him again...
