Okay, so I'm playing FFX and really into it. I've been playing it for days, actually I'd say weeks lol. So I completed the first trial at Mt. Gagazet and now I can't get any further. The red arrow keeps pointing me to some stairs and I go there and nothing happens. I have the Walkthrough and that doesn't help either. Has anyone beat the game and know what to do? I've actually done this twice now... please someone help!!!!! I'm addicted to this game!!!!!

You need to explore the area abit, theres some underwater trials you need to do so you can get up the path, you can go like, left right and up from the save point, explore all directions or you just wont get anywhere....
well the red arrow keeps pointing me to the stairs... and everytime i go someone else it keeps pointing me back.... i went up the stairs to the next watery area and nothing happened. i'm confused. i completed the first trial and open the treasure chest and everything. is there anything else i need to do?

Ignore the arrow, its just there to show you your ultimate destination. Ive never ever bothered paying attention to the arrow
I'm not quite sure what exactly part of the game your at but I'll give it a shot anyways.
If you haven't done the underwater trail with Tidus, Wakka and Rikku then you need to do this first. Look around to find some water, you'll be able to go into this water and swim, keep swimming forward until you reach the end, you will find this weird thing that Wakka has to hit, it's pretty simple and easy.
Okay once you got Wakka to hit it, walk back to that save sphere thing and then walk up the stairs, eventually you'll have to go back into some water and all you have to do is get Tidus to swim to the blue one, Wakka to the orange one and Rikku to the green one. Now a new passage has been uncovered all you need to do is return to that save sphere and then make your way forward but get ready there is quite a hard boss coming up, however if you're all leveled up correctly you'll be fine

Yes and make sure you got items that cure Zombie cause there isn't a shop in the next destination. You'll need them. Also back on topic, You do have to explore and finish those two trials. Not sure if thats all but you'll figure it out. Just explore everything and if you do something different explore again lol until your stairs are cleared.
Looks like you're done with the first trial of Gagazet. From the center of the cave (where the save sphere is) go up the stairs in front of you and turn right, to a watery area. Swim through that waterway until you get to the end where there are three spheres on the wall. Green, blue and orange. When you get to it, you'll need to guide each character into one of the spheres. Green is for Rikku, Blue is for Tidus, and Orange is for Wakka. Once you're done, swim back to the spheres and grab the Fortune Sphere in the chest. Now go back to the center near the save sphere.
There are some treasure chests now unlocked if you want to go search for them but I don't want to confuse you more than I probably already have ._.

Thanks for helping me out! The red arrow was really screwing me up. Everytime I would go up the stairs it would tell me I was going the wrong way so I would turn back around. I ignored it on the advice from a few people here and got past this part. Yay! Thanks again! Now I'm on the airship completing a bunch of sidequests and getting the rest of the aeons. Thanks again!
