So I've been having this idea for an rp lately, that I've just been kicking around in my head for quite some time. Please bear with me on this. I appreciate your input. Thank you. And without further ado, an introduction and a couple of points and ideas after the teaser.

Nestled quietly and snugly into the New England countryside lies a town that mirrors your own . It is quiet, it is calm, and perfectly uneventful. But there's something not quite so normal in this town. Those with a special that special sense can feel it. There lies a mystery bound tightly and buried deeply within and enigma. There's a secret. A big one at that, which is known and bound tightly to the hearts of it's most trustworthy and loyal residents.

Oh, and there's lot's of weirdness too.

It won't be hard to look for it, but then again, you don't
want to be looking for it in the first place. You can trust that it finds everyone here in some way or another. But they never tell this to outsiders, and for some reason, leaving residents never tell either...

Okay, so if you couldn't already tell, the town seems to harboring some big secret. The also for whatever reason, is a veritable magnet for weirdness and para-(sometimes super) normal activity. Perhaps the two are connected somehow?

There are two things that I want to for this rp to make it special and unique:

1. Keep the role of RP master alive by contacting participants via Private messaging in an effort to give them extra information (usually concerning them and their character), playing the story against the players, and playing the players against themselves and each other.

2. The Role Play itself is going to be episodic in nature. Finishing one episode/adventure/campaign (whatever you want to call it) leads to the discussion and eventual creation of the next episode. All centered around the town and high school. Players can and will have to up date their character's bio/profile/sheet on occasion, after taking into account the events of the episode. So if your character suddenly gains super strength, it stays there unless there are mitigating factors proving otherwise. Characters will need to update their character's bios usually after every adventure.

I'm hoping to have a lot of participants.

So... Questions? Ideas? Suggestions? Anything?

The Bio sheet will look as such:

Name/Aliases (alter egos are acceptable as well):
Age:
DOB:
Gender:
Special abilities/ Powers (if any):
Weapons:
Appearance:
Personality:
History:
High School student? (not mandatory to be a student, but makes starting out a bit easier):
Club position:

Keep in mind that this is a very rough draft of the Bio that I have in mind.

It's certainly an interesting idea. Are we talking "weirdness" of the Heroes nature (which is sort of implied by a character possibly gaining super hero-esque powers)? Or something more dangerous like Resident Evil? Either way, I'd consider giving it a shot.
The idea of having the RP master giving out specific details and instructions to each individual via PM is particularly intriguing.

I want to start with small and weak quests, episodes, and obstacles. This means that I plan on starting grounded and normal, which is just like your Resident evil suggestion.

Characters will have to deal with considerably weak problems. The supernatural element will mostly manifest itself in the later episodes, and especially after the player characters have had a chance to grow.

I want every to get comfortable with their character, and let both the character and the action develop. Some characters might in fact (if they so choose and it can be worked into the plot without being too cheap or cheesy).

Though this isn't to say that I'm completely limiting magic and supernatural (you can have a psychic if you so wish) from the beginning. But like in real life, experience is key to growth and strength, meaning that players should really earn their new-found abilities.
