We've had every kind of FF RP except for an FFXII RP and, as the best Final Fantasy game, I feel that it deserves some appreciation. I did have an FFXII RP set up sometime last year, but certain people didn't bother participating after saying they would, which resulted in the entire thing collapsing. So, after revamping the story a little bit...time to try again~
Some brief preliminary information, then:
- If you took part in the FFXIII RP a while back, think of this as the FFXII equivalent; setting and terminology shared, but with a story going in a completely different direction. The story will have very little in common with FFXII's in terms of how it plays out, although the backstory will be more or less the same, with some *slight* changes for the sake of the later plot and character enhancement; for example, Nabudis was now destroyed by Judges wielding Espers.
- Key plot elements, such as nethicite (deifacted only; nothing manufactured) will still be integrated into the story, although they will be used in a different way. Espers will also play a more prominent role, as will the Occuria.
- We'll start in Dalmasca, although there is potential for more than one group of protagonists, to keep things interesting.
- There will be 12 character slots in this RP; one per Esper. Four of those slots are Judges, and two more slots for the Dalmascan Consul and the Dalmascan Prince or Princess. Those will all have set Espers, matching their role or for story purposes: for example, the Prince/Princess will obtain Belias.
- Only the Judges and Consul will have their Espers at the start of the RP; everyone else is going to have to work for theirs over the course of the story. They'll be found at the places they were found in-game.
- We'll be using the Zodiac Job Board system to determine character abilities and weapons. So if you pick the role of Black Mage, you'll be able to use spells, but have little in the way of weaponry or defence, etc. This ought to keep things balanced in terms of strengths and weaknesses.
- Your character's job and Esper will be connected in accordance with their Zodiac sign. So, the character that has Hashmal will be a Knight. This was more for character variety than anything else; if people don't like this idea, I'll scrap it and let you pick whatever job you like with whatever Esper you like.
- Excluding the Occuria (for obvious reasons) you will be able to make characters of any race you choose from Ivalice. This includes races like the Gria, Aegyl, Helgas; whatever you feel like, as long as it is native to Ivalice and you can write a convincing history for it. The Judges, Consul and Prince/Princess will need to be Hume, however.
Sooo...any takers? Any questions? Ideally I'd like three other people in this at minimum; we don't need to fill EVERY slot to get things going. This is more or less fully written up; which way it goes depends on how many people are interested and how people want to develop their characters~
