M&M Character Sheet

Plot:
Evolution, advances in science and space exploration have opened up a vast new reality for humankind. People live longer lives, diseases once thought to be incurable now have treatments and vaccines, and space travel has opened up new worlds for humanity to explore, settle and make cultural exchanges with.

However, with all these advances come those who seek to abuse the gifts given to them by nature, science or the Gods. These villains have brought about wars and conflict between races and worlds. While some, less dangerous super criminals work alone for their own personal gain, the more powerful ones work as a team, and this team was known as The Iron Fist. A suitable name, for any world they ruled over, they ruled with an iron fist, enslaving the inhabitants and forcing them to do their bidding.

It wasn't until a group of super-powered citizens from multiple worlds came together and formed the Justice Alliance that the war of the Supers began. The war lasted for forty years, but in the end, the Justice Alliance succeeded. Most of the Iron Fist were killed in the war, while the rest were put away in various Triple-Max slammers on life sentences.

However, there is always danger so long as the temptation for power manages to overtake the hearts of those who possess that power. In order to train future generations in how to use their powers or abilities responsibly and replenish their ranks, the Justice Alliance created the Justice Academy on the planet of Freya. It is there that the heroes of old seek to train and educate the heroes of the future.

How to Design your Hero:
After downloading the PDF (It's perfectly safe, I downloaded it and scanned it with AVAST antivirus to make certain it's safe), go to page 23 of the PDF to get started on forming your character the way you want your character to come out. Students will start out at Power Level 10 (After all, your characters are students, so your powers are 'under development). This means that when developing your character, you will have 150 Power Points to spend in creating your student character. If you are playing a teacher, you will be at Power Level 12 with 180 Power Points. Page 55 describes Abilities. Page 61 describes Skills. Page 91 goes into Powers (the heart of your character)

The Roles:
You can play as two characters: A student, or one of the teachers. As a teacher, you are pretty much up there in age, and your skills aren't what they used to be (Unless you're a God like Thor). Students know they have powers but are unsure of how to properly use them. Or maybe they don't have powers at all, but are very nifty with creating gadgets, or are really good in martial arts or the like and want to get into the Super Hero gig. While Students will become more powerful over time, Teachers will not.

Not your Average Roleplay:
This roleplay isn't a one-shot thing. This RP is intended to be ongoing and will be played throughout like a series. At the end of each series, everyone will be graded on how they did with their character and will be rewarded Power Points to add to their characters. Since there really is no benefit to going up in Power Level, I will not put a cap on how many Power Points you can earn. The initial Power Level is just to give you your starting Power Points for character creation. However, since teachers are at (or past) their prime, they will not gain power points. Ever. This is mostly about the students and their adventures.

Teachers and Students:
As explained before, but just to delve a bit deeper into this, the role of the teachers are to teach, to observe the students, and to jump into the fray ONLY if things get too out of hand. Also, since the teachers are older and more experienced, they start out with 180 Power Points to go into their character creation. However, since they are also 'past their prime' and not really the focus of the roleplays, they will not gain any additional Power Points after each RP conclusion.

Students can come from any planet that supports life (Or may even be an advanced AI life form like Vision), and either have limited knowledge and use of their powers or are skilled, but need to be trained further. All students start off at Power Level 10 and have 150 Power Points to create their character with. Since they are the focus of the RP, every normal completion of a RP will net you Power Points. Players who's student characters go above and beyond will net extra Power Points at the end of that RP.

Signing Up:
Once the initial RP starts, no more profiles will be accepted. When a new RP for this series opens, Players will carry their characters over into the next RP of the series. People wanting to join in will have a one week window to create their student characters (No new teachers will be allowed after the first RP unless someone drops their teacher character), but will start off just as everyone else started off, at PL 10 with 150 PP to spend on character creation.

Figuring it all out:
Wanna know the gist of how to make your character without searching through the whole PDF? Here's the basics
Stats: 2 points per 1 stat
Saving throws: 10+ base stat (Toughness and Fortitude: Stamina, Dodge: Agility, Parry: Fighting, Will: Awareness)
Combat: Defense: 10 + Parry (Melee), 10 + Dodge (Ranged)
Attack Bonus = Power Level
Ranged: AB + Dex, Melee: AB + Strength
Powers: These you have to look up in the PDF as each power has different point costs that can change depending on the attributes or flaws you use with them.
Skills: 1 point per 2 ranks
Advantages: 1 point each
Equipment/Vehicles: Have to look this one up in the PDF as well. Different tools and rides cost different points, especially when you add the goodies in.

That is basically my rp idea, based off of the Mutants and Masterminds 3rd Edition, which is basically the superhero version of D&D. Each Roleplay will basically be like an ongoing saga (Sort of like X-Men, Avengers and Justice League). At the end of each roleplay, the players will be awarded Power Points to spend on their characters. The better your student does, the more you earn and carry over into the next RP of the series.
