So, a while ago, I tried starting up a Silent Hill RP. It kind of flopped due to lack of interest and lack of motivation to post. Since I saw this RP Forum is pretty active, I figured...why not try it here?

The RP won't be based off any previous story lines or characters; it will be only based on the town itself, its history, the monsters, etc. All of our stories will be conglomerated into the main story to make it more interesting, but I do have a focal point of where it needs to go.

I'm not sure what else to add to try and garner interest...I hope you guys want to do it. If not, then ah well; it was worth a try, right?

If enough people show interest, I'll go ahead and change this topic into the Discussion/Sign Up Thread.

It would depend on how you did it. How would you control the monsters/world shifts etc? Would you be playing a kind of "Gamemaster" role?

To be honest, I had monsters in mind for my character, but as I said, I'd like it to be a conglomerate of all our stories. As per Silent Hill, everyone's "monsters" were tailored to their own problems or own psychology. That being said, it would be cool if everyone would be able to create their own unique monsters. However, as this is a RP and not a video game, we'd have to tweak it a little and let everyone be able to see those monsters...and be careful not to horde/god mode the monsters, if you know what I mean.

As for the world shifts, I'd be controlling those. And I'd let you know a post in advance when a world shift was coming and not throw it at you out of the blue. I have access to an Interactive Map of Silent Hill (if the link still works) for the RP, so hopefully it won't be confusing.

Hrm. I'd be up for an RP... I just... never played any Silent Hill.

Well, beyond the first hallway in the first one.(The camera freaked me out! xD)

So... I mean, I could look up the history and stuff to become knowledgable on everything.

And the making your own monster things sounds awesome. =o
 
well, i played the first silent hill game many many moons ago, so i think it would be pretty interesting to join this RP if you made it with a good storyline and shift system.
 
To be perfectly honest Rinoa all you really need to do is get the basic history/basic mechanics of Silent Hill. It'd be good to look at the different games and some of the situations in them, but since we aren't using a lot from there it isn't really needed. If you'd prefer, I can send you a PM with it outlined. I wouldn't mind. :D

haha, quite a following here, get the RP's stroyline sorted out and lets get this show on the road,

also, will there be a pyramid head in this RP, as that dude was just mental and refused to die T_T
 
Pyramid Head is up to you guys, because it depends on how you want to use him. (Ok, so I lied...some monsters depend on storylines...lol):

-If we use him as a manifestation of James' guilt/retribution/judgement, then no, Pyramid Head cannot exist in this RP because he was specific to James.

-If we use him as the general manifestation of a person's guilt, and is always present when there is deep rooted guilt in a person and the person is in need of judgement for it, then he can be used in the RP but ONLY if appropriate to a character.


Personally, I go with the first...I kind of was pissed that he was used in Silent Hill: Homecoming (since I think he was specific to James) but that is beside the point. If you guys want to use the second definition of Pyramid Head, then that's cool. It's up to you.


I'll start getting the information post in order and edit the first post and change this to the Sign Up/Discussion Thread...and I need to get you the information, Rinoa. :D
