Hey Everyone!

Currently in a bit of a pickle!

I own an iPhone 4 in white already but I have been thinking of swapping it for a Blackberry.

I have been offered a direct swap for a 9800 or 9860 Blackberry

But I really don't know what to do, they both seem great phones, I like apple and blackberry phones.

Should I swap my iPhone for a Blackberry???

Any advice would be fantastic!

what do you use your phone for, do you web browse with the phone, if so, a blackberry not the phone for you, they do not have great web browsers at all, and the facebook app and that ain't that great either, the games you get on blackberry are not great either, sooo i would say that unless you just use your phone for texting, e-mail and u want bbm, get a blackberry, otherwise stay with the IPhone :)

Tend to use my phone mainly for txts and looking stuff up online.
But I do like using Facebook and taking pictures too

I also have insurance on the iphone that I would lose if I change phones

Also use my phone as an alarm clock haha
I use Whatsapp quite a lot as well if that makes any difference lol

I say stick to the iphone. Much better and easier phone to use plus I don't think there is anything a Blackberry can do that an iPhone can't? :hmmm:

A lot of people have told me that the Blackberry is better for emails but I have been using the iphone email software and had no issues with it.

based on what you said you use it for I would stick with the IPhone, you wouldn't gain anything by getting a blackberry if anything you would lose stuff as the IPhone has a great Web browser while blackberry does not :P

also, if you had other phones to pick from get android.... it rocks

Blackberry's are for business. I would definitely advise that you keep the iPhone. iOS is also much better than RIM's Blackberry OS. It can do much more with less problems (not to say it doesn't have problems, though). The apps are better, though I don't really care about apps in the first place. But really, you don't want a Blackberry. They're really not all that great. If you were swapping for a phone running Android, I would have a different argument but it would depend on the actual phone.

The one advantage of Blackberry phones I can think of are the physical qwerty keyboards that I find to be considerably more intuitive than touchscreen soft keyboards. I think there have been a few Blackberries that don't even have a physical keyboard anymore like the Blackberry Bolds I've always liked back in the day, I'm not too sure. But if you use your phone mainly for texting and browsing, you're probably better off keeping the iPhone. If you text a lot and you find that you could do with a physical keyboard, it might be worth then to check out a Blackberry.

I however, have developed a disdain for Apple. I know to an extent all companies in the mobile industry are somewhat guilty from time to time, but Apple's patenting of vague things they were never really a godly pioneer of, like sliding to unlock, and then suing the crap out of other people for slights that resembles anything like, for instance, sliding to unlock a screen. Apple's been the biggest and pettiest offender of this litigation strategy, and often or not, court decisions rule in favour of this corporate bullying. RIM on the other hand has been suffering, and Apple is all to keen to reap the rewards. But, this has little to do with the question, I know. I just wanted to rant a little.

I'd say keep the iPhone. I have an iPod Touch in white (which is similar to the iPhone, just without a call function and signal when out and about), and I find it easier to use than my BlackBerry Curve (my actual phone). Like others have said though, it depends on what you use your phone for the most.

I have a BB Torch from AT&T and I'm waiting for IPhone 5 to come out so I can get one.

The big differences that I see between the two are the BB's have an actual keyboard (which is something that DID mean something to me at one point because it's easier for me to text and email with an actual push button keyboard than it is for me to type out things on my ITouch), the app's that are available (BB's app's are just really lacking in variety and quality as opposed to the ones offered on the Iphone in my opinion)...and overall I think the Iphone is a lot more user friendly. I DO see more privacy issues with the Iphone though.

My persuasion in buying an Iphone is because Apple is constantly innovating and improving it, while I'm not really seeing that to the same level with Blackberry. As a company, I see RIM in trouble. They can't keep up with Apple innovation-wise in my opinion.

iPhone all the way! I hated having the Blackberry, I was told the new (at the time) Torch 9800 was a great phone and such, so I got it.... Not long after I got it, I despised it. Kept going wrong and deleting apps off of my phone, like really important ones and I didn't even have the opportunity to get them back. I got so fed up with it, so I got another contract out and got the iPhone 4. I did want the 4s, but the damn people in the O2 store said I should get the 4 instead. Dicks.

Why are you talking like the colour matters? The White is no different than the Black, it's just an aesthetic change...

Anyway, stick with iPhone. I have the iPhone 4 (skipping the 4S and waiting on 5...). I love it and does everything you mentioned perfectly fine. The only problem I have with the iPhone is that it keeps thinking that earphones are plugged in when they are not, and so sometimes when someone calls me I can hear them but they can not hear me. Easily sorted by plugging and unplugging a few times and not sure if its the same for other phones, but that is my only gripe with it.

Whatever you do dont buy a blackberry , I got the Torch and its shit!
Also iPhone isnt that great either imo. I suggest going Android and buy a Samsung phone. Galaxy S2 is the bomb.

I'm hoping to get an S II next week when I can upgrade  I've grown tired of iOS on my iPod and want to finally try out Android.

The Torch really is awful, worst phone I've ever had... I think. My friend from work got the same phone as I did last year (and around the same time) and she had problems with hers, too. However, not many people who've had the older models have had the problems I've encountered at all.
