Jump Festa '10 starts now. Square Enix is on the show floor showing the latest in Final Fantasy Versus XIII. No there’s not any gameplay, but they are showing off Noctis’ apparently new outfit. We say apparent because it’s unsure if he’s actually going to wear it or if it will replace his current costume.

Read on for the shots.

I thought the T-shirt was a bit wet at the neck area for a moment then until I scrolled down and realised that it actually has asymmetrical skulls and crossbone designs on it :-)wtf:).

If Noctis wears that, he'd look more like a mercenary than a prince. Then again since he hangs around with a gang of battle-hardened lads- I suppose that's the point of its design.

That outfit is pretty awesome. I'd rather have him wear that. The one from before makes him look like a Sasuke rip off. (Well...moreso)

This outfit would fit in with the modern day setting, yet also stand out because of him wearing just that one glove and that (sorta) long jacket.

Do not want. :mokken:
The only reason for this is clearly so that he fits in with all the over people, which by the looks of it isn't a good thing. Looks like he's gone to the Officers Club and bought the cheapest things going >.>

Hmm...I'm still partial to his original outfit we see him in. Skull bones seems like he's trying to hard to be bad-ass, so I just can't see him as such >_<

But ain't this interesting? Almost immediately after FFXIII is released, we get a lil' info on Versus :awesome:

Well, at least someone can walk from a Cosplay convention to the mall and not look like an alien now, lol

In a matter of fact, the pants are kinda hot. But what the hell is with the immature skull shirt?

Anytime a dude has to wear anything with skulls I just see him as a joke.

...this looks like something that weird kid in my science class would wear. Please no. Please. I'd be embarrassed to play the game =(

I want the shirt so badly, its gorgeous. Im a sucker for skulls XD It looks pretty damn coolio. Does it come in my size :p I must be the only person who likes it!!

Oh come on guys, the new outwear doesn't look too bad. It's just the asymmetrical skulls thing I have a major gripe with, but that's it.

Who knows, maybe Noctis in terms of personality has a rather odd fashion sense or something. Seeing as though he's been compared to a Mafia gang member, the clothes don't look too bad.

Obviously I would probably avoid someone actually wearing that in real life on a street or something, but this is Noctis- anything to scare off enemies xD

But that's just it. They talk about wanted to "westernize" Final Fantasy, yet all they do is dumb things down and don't westernize the game at all. This outfit would never be in the game, should it be westernized. I don't think Square knows anything about America. We don't want crappy, dumbed down games. That doesn't make a game a "western" rpg. Clothes, facial and body animation, depth of the story...changing these things make a game similar to a western rpg, not making the gameplay so easy a caveman should do it. Sorry for my rant :/ Square just has me in a bad mood, because everything they do just seems to be completely for the cash and not at all for the fans.

In fairness ALL gaming companies are like that whether you think that or not, it's not just Square Enix. Sure there are some companies who try to make AAA games for fans such as Naughty Dog, but as a business, their #1 priority is to make a profit.

As for the outfit, I don't think it was designed just to westernise the game, more to match the designs of other characters in the game. Overall though, there outfit style in FFXIII Versus is far more modern and realistic than previous FF titles.
