Due to pidgeons. Btw, I sont know where this should go, so I'm sticking it here. Move if necessary.

On Friday night, during a concert in St. Louis, the pigeons at Verizon Amphitheatre took out their revenge the best way they know how. Crapping all over the band.

Unlike the two opening acts, Kings Of Leon decided to bail on their fans and pack it in. They could not handle the pigeon excrement. They used the excuse that it was annoying and toxic. True and true. However, they had been warned of the pigeon problem well in advance of their show, had watched the opening acts get pummeled, but did nothing about it. Raincoats? Umbrella stands? There are about 20 things I can think of that would have allowed them to continue the show, but which they chose not to do. Instead, they lasted just three songs, and disappointed thousands and thousands of fans. I'm sure Live Nation is also not thrilled either at having to refund money.

The fans were not getting hit at all. The poop is apparently strictly for the performers.

I would want my money back. What do you guys think about it?

You know, it's funny. I saw in on CNN a few hours ago, and all I can do is laugh.

But in all seriousness, if you were getting shat on by pigeons, then deal with it, the show must go on after all. :hmmm:

it's easy to say when you're not the one getting shit on :monster:

Yeah, I wouldn't exactly want to get shat on by a bunch of pigeons during a concert either. One might think they'd do something ahead of time about the problem, though. I'm sure there are many non-violent ways to get rid of birds. Airports use them all the time.

Hah! I read a joke about this. How Kings of Leon walked off so they called the Pigeon Detectives in to investigate.

I think it's a bit of a joke really. I don't think it's great that they are getting shit on, but if they have had all this warning, then why weren't they propared. I've never seen this venue, but was it so hard to shelted them or to just play at a better venue?

Still, I don't overly like them, they don't deserve to be shit on, but they are still arseholes.

I think I'd expect my money back regardless of seeing the other two bands. Not because KoL was the band I went to see, but because they ruined it for me and everyone else. Or rather...the bird shit did. I'd still kick up a fuss though - especially if you are travelling far.

This is a load of crap.

:mokken:

/badum ba psh...

But really I'd want my money back. If they saw with the opening acts what was going on, why would they just sit back and expect something different for themselves? No sir, the Pigeons saved more than enough crap for you guys.

People are paying to see a full length show. If they get shit on, they should stay. If anything, just take a 10 minute break, clean yourself off, and get back out there. You at least owe it to the fans.

However, they're a shit band and the pigeons let them know it. Way to go, Pigeons. Keep on being awesome. :ryan:

What a bunch of primadonnas. If you're not prepared for a bit of weather/pigeon guano, then maybe you shouldn't be playing amphitheatres. It's not like it was the audience hurling shit at them or anything :mokken:

I'd definitely want my money back :gasp:
Although, I wouldn't have paid to see them in the first place...

But yeah, in all seriousness, they should refund the fans, especially if they were warned about the problem first. They could have put something up to stop them getting shat on, or just, you know, lived with it.
I'd probably have bailed though too... I'd want to clean myself up 8(

I thought Kings of Leon denounced all their American fans ages ago?

They're shit themselves anyway. I'd be more angry with myself for already having paid to go see them.

- Moved to Midgar since this deals with Music -

You know, if they were really hardcore, they would've eaten the guano, smeared it all over their bodies, and then thrown some of it at the audience :mokken: I mean c'mon, there are some black metal bands who throw pig's blood on the stage, themselves, and the fans, and this is far less nasty than that :monster:

>_> In all seriousness though,

I think it's a bit of a joke really. I don't think it's great that they are getting shit on, but if they have had all this warning, then why weren't they propared. I've never seen this venue, but was it so hard to shelted them or to just play at a better venue?

I think this pretty much sums it up. I know as a performer you don't always get to choose which venues you visit, and that getting it inside your guitar, for example, would really, REALLY suck; but the managers/booking agents/whoever was in charge should've put a little more consideration into where the band would be...dropping...into.

Sorry, I couldn't resist :wacky:
