Hey there folks, welcome to a brand new let's play! This time around we're going for the PS4 remaster/port of a visual novel draped in blood, murder and mystery! If you like your Battle Royale style stories, then this should be right up your alley. It reminds me slightly of Mirai Nikki (Future Diary), but the victims/competitors are stuck in a school environment instead. I think the less I say about the plot the better so I'll leave that there lol.

Anyways, while it's a visual novel, it's not completely linear. There are tonnes of gameplay elements and stuff. Kinda like Ace Attorney? I've heard that comparison a whole lot and I can see where people are coming from with that.

OK, here's the obvious: I didn't make this game. It was actually made/produced/distributed by: NIS America, Spike Chunsoft and Abstraction Games. Sorry if I missed anyone. The only things that will be mine in this series will be the playing, commentary and editing :).

P.S. I almost forgot to mention! This will be a weird one in terms of commentary. Some of the game has voice acting, but a lot of it doesn't. When there's voice acting, I'll be leaving it for you lot to listen by cranking up the volume. When there's not, there'll be pure reading. Therefore, there won't be as much commentary from me, outside of reading. I feel this is the best way to experience a visual novel since if I was talking about the game as the story played on screen, it'd be confusing :).

P.P.S. If you like what you see, go out and buy the game! It's cheap on Vita and Steam! The PS4 version is only £35 on the PS4 store or possibly cheaper on disc so go for it! ;)

Hey folks, Danganronpa is starting! Today, we're meeting our main protagonist (Makoto Naegi) along with tonnes of other characters! You see, we're ever so lucky to have been handpicked to go to Hope's Peak highschool! When we graduate, we'll be able to get whatever job we want, really...

Hey peoples, it's time for us to meet all of the rest of the cast along with a very special bear. You could say he's a Monobear, or Monokuma ;). This little troll is one of my all time favourite videogame villains! So much more interesting than just another guy trying to blow up the world or summat.

Otherwise, we find out exactly what is so horrific about our time at Hope's Peak: you need to graduate in a way that I wouldn't think is the norm. No, probably not. Maybe. Oh the DESPAIR! :gasp2:

Episode 3 - Can We Escape?

Hey folks, today we're gonna try and escape without following Monokuma's school rules! I wonder if it's possible, even with the windows being all blocked off...and the stairs too? :s. Also, we get to know Sayaka a bit more this time around, which is nice. It looks like we've found a friend on the inside! Can never have too many friends in a situation like this :s.

Episode 4 - The Trouble With Knobs

Hey peoples, welcome to our first bit of free time! During this time, you can go and choose a character to talk to and try and fill in their report card, which tells you more about them :). You can also give gifts that you earn by finding monokuma coins hidden around the place and spend them in the school store ;).

We get to spend some more time with Sayaka too and plot stuff goes on there. Safety in numbers, they say :).

Also, it's a good job our Makoto found out about his faulty bathroom door during the daytime huh? If it were at night and he had to go in the plant pot...well...

Episode 5 - Free DVDs!

Hey folks, this time around we're introduced to the free time element of the game! If you've played Persona 3/4/5, then you know how this works; it's the part where you get to talk to whoever you like and gain skills for later on. You also have back story for the characters you talk to that you otherwise wouldn't know about them :).

In terms of the main plot, Monokuma is showing his generous nature by giving us possible murder motives that are specific to each character. We'll check all that out next time though!

While we do get the opportunity to watch our murder motive DVDs, and it seems to affect a certain someone more than anyone else, there's something much bigger going on in this episode! Hey there, with the investigation over, it's time for the class trial! These are possibly my favourite parts of these games so I'm excited to make a start on our first one!

If you've played Ace Attorney, then you kind of know what's coming here. You'll be providing evidence, finding contradictions in statements and bits and pieces like that. The difference in this series however is that it's all much more fast paced and you get to play some minigames along the way. It's all rather fun, I must say *toggles monocle*.

Hey folks, chapter 2 is starting! We seem to be safe now, but what is that Monokuma up to? Exercise in the gym? I think it's to get them pumped and possibly agitated? :eek:

Along with that, it looks like he has opened up the 2nd floor to us, with a library and swimming pool ready to use! It's so good of Monokuma to give us some exercise facilities to stay healthy :).

Hey peoples, today we get to see just how cruel and spoilt our Celeste can be! I can't decide on whether she's my favourite character of our little roster or not, but she's so good, just the same :D.

Byakuya and Toko also have a bit more time in the spotlight! There's something mighty weird going on with those two...I reckon Byakuya loves Toko! Definitely.

Finally, we have a wee bit of freetime to get to know Celeste's weird past a bit better. She's been in some bizarre situations :/.

Hey there, we're starting the trial for chapter 2 today! It's so exciting, due to a new victim showing up who we haven't met before 0_0. It's really clever! There's also something else that never showed up in the 1st trial that's quite surprising. You'd think a trial would be totally confined to the courtroom huh? Finally, there are some new styles of forming contradictions and stuff. They're not letting this concept get stale, are they? ;)
