hiya guys im on the part in the game where everyone has left midgar and goes on the town of khalm or summat like that .

Long the way i have achived the level 2 limit breaks for cloud and barret but how come for some reason i can't seem to chose the level 2 ones just the level 1's ..

You have to set them in the limit break menu. The limit bar will be set back to normal, though and the level 2 limits charge more slowly. I think the limits can be set in the character status menu.

Problem appears to be resolved. After you acquire a Level 2 Limit Break (or 3 or 4, for that matter), you must set it to Limit Level 2 before you can use it in battle.

Keep in mind though, the higher the Limit Level chosen, the slower the gauge will fill, so you're not able to use the limit break(s) as often.

Also on the topic of Level 2 Limit Breaks, I think Red XIII (Nanaki)'s are the best: Stardust Ray pwns (at least I think it is Level 2...if not, then Level 3. Pretty sure it is the second Level 2 Limit Break though).

Go to the menu, click on limit, then set, then select the level you want.
Bolt is right the higher levels take longer to fill up, but they do tend to be a lot stronger.
Also, to increase your limit levels, get kills, and to unlock the second limit break from each level, use the first limit break from said level.

You already know

Yep setting your limit break to level 2 will not allow you to use the level 1's. So you open Menu, go to limit breaks, set, then level 2. You will only be able to use them for now. well unless you set to a different level.

You could use that item that allows for limits to charge more swiftly in exchange for you taking more damage, but thats very risky in boss fights unless you have the right limit. I recommend it, but only in certain situations.

Some useful/useless info

Hypers let you build limit breaks faster but they cause more damage from physical attacks and also lower your accuracy. So yeah they arn't good with deathblow or someone with a low accuracy, that is if you are attacking with the character with hyper status. I've never really seen my characters miss that much to be truthful. Not even with hyper status, but with an enemy with high luck...

I'd have my characters in a permanent Hyper state to build up limit breaks and even after they have been learned...

To complete the level you have to use the first limit break about 8 or 9 times dependent on the character. Then to learn a new level you have to kill 60 or 80 enemies (60 for Vincent and 80 for everyone else) it's possible to learn level 2 before finishing level 1, in which case you can't change the level until you have mastered the previous level.

helpful hint

go to the menu choose the option "limit" go to cloud's and barret's and set the limit for level 2 and that should do the trick
