Many games, in order to progress, will at some point, or multiple points include a maze or a puzzel that you must get through. Sometimes they are easy, sometimes hints are given before getting to them, and sometimes they are so impossible that you have to go online to get a guide.

Do you like this aspect of the game?

I personally hate difficult mazes and puzzels, mainly because they often come at the dullest point in the game. Like you have some huge cave to try to navigate, it's full of tough monsters, the scenery is dark and for the most part dull, and you find yourself walking in circles. Worst maze ever was that temple in FFX with the moving floor and lights. I seriously got a migrane from it.

Also puzzels that are so hard that I just want to scream. I mean if there is some clue to get past the puzzel, then fine. There is one from a Lord of the Rings game (it was a present!) that I never figured out. I looked up online how to solve it, and had no idea what they were talking about. So I gave up on the game completely.

I JUST Finished the Light puzzle in FFX...LOL
And yes, I do kinda hate the puzzles in most games...But it sometimes keeps you sane when playing horror games...
The puzzles In R.E are pretty annoying though...

I actually love puzzle and maze games, specially in survival horror games like Resident Evil. I guess that's what made the first installments of the series so unique, I am even playing Resident Evil 3-Nemesis right now and, albeit its puzzles are not so difficult, it sure gives you a headache when you have a seven feet tall juggernaut with a Rocket Launcher stalking you around through the map. To this day, I haven't seen many difficult puzzles in Final Fantasy games, I guess they pale in comparisson to the puzzles found in survival horror games. I still remember the piano puzzle from Silent Hill (PSX)...that thing was an annoying shit. -__-

Resident Evil's puzzles and dungeons > all

The feeling of running out of ammo, the clock ticking against you, and then these bloodthirsty monsters stalking you through every door, every corner. Ahh great epicness! I surely love that heartbeating tension.

Having puzzles stuck in a game irritates me immensely most of the time. I have never been any good at them; half the time if its something like a sliding puzzle I need to look the solution up. My mind just doesn't work that way.

Dungeons and mazes...eh, it depends on what is in them, I suppose. I don't mind backtracking, exploring, "get this to do that" sorts of things, but any aggravating sliding puzzles and the like in them make me want to hoist the black flag and start slitting throats...

I don't mind puzzles in games, as long as they are not in area's where you constantly have to fight monsters. I hate it when you are running around pulling levers or searching clous and the 32386742th random monster pops up to keep you from finishing.

Riddles are fun to, but after the first playthrough you know the answer and the fun of it is gone...

I once played a game where you're in a city and the streets are all laid out in a maze. You can buy a map but first you have to go through the maze to find the money changer then go back through the maze to the shop where you buy the map. :wacky: The game was awesome though.

I don't mind mazes and puzzles as long as they aren't ridiculous. I actually quite enjoy solving them in most games. ICO, for example, consists mostly of solving puzzles. There is a bit of action from time to time but the majority of it is puzzle-solving. I really enjoyed it.

A lot of old PC games were pretty much all puzzle solving and some of them are still my favorite games. So, yeah, I'm all for puzzle solving. xD

They do my head in. Ive not got the patience for it for the most part. FFV stands out especially with the desert and that dungeon where there are traps in the floor It drives me utterly insane

Theres BoF3 aswell, that had a few annoyngmoments like etting into o'neils mansion and getting through that tower where you find Momo.

And to add insult to injury youre getting random battles every 3 steps when youre lost and pissed off to fuck

:mokken:
