Can I join?! I resumed my Final Fantasy IX the other day and was struck by how incredible they are as a couple! They're at the top of my list with YunaxTidus! ^_^

I should upload my fanmade video. I made one yeaaars ago for FFIX. :lew:

Put me in for this two, Final Fantasy IX is one of my all time favourite Final Fantasies. I think they are very adorable and show to me the best chemistry of them growing to each others personality.

Sakura - I also fell in love with the couple again after re-playing IX a few months ago! They're so underrated imo... ;---;

.Mosh - They are adorable as a couple, aren't they?! x3 && I think it's great how at first their personalities somewhat clashed at certain points, but they gradually became more complementary. They also learned a lot from each other during the course of their journey, which I think is a pretty realistic depiction of how couples are in real life! :3 (Zidane learned to be more serious at times; Garnet learned to loosen up more)

1) What were your first impressions of Zidane? Would he make an ideal boyfriend in real life?

I immediately developed a crush on Zidane upon playing IX, lol. He seemed like the "class clown" type of character - very playful & always putting on a show. I also liked his flirty nature 'cause it was very different from the previous FF protagonists. I think he'd make an ideal boyfriend. I mean, so long as he doesn't flirt with every girl around the corner... >.>; But he's very loyal! ^^


2) What were your first impressions of Garnet? Would she make an ideal girlfriend in real life?

Although I love her a lot now, I used to think Garnet was a bit annoying at times. Like I was upset when she decided to part ways with Zidane & co. back in Linblum early in the game in order to travel on her own (she dragged Steiner with her but still, lol). I admired her wanting to get outside of the castle and learn more about the outside world though! ^^ I also think she'd be a great girlfriend in real life~ :3


3) Do you have any favorite Zidane x Garnet scenes from the game? Share them!

Yepyep! Probably my favorite funny scene would be the infamous butt-grabbing scene! xD As for a more serious scene, the ending hit me pretty hard. I know it's pretty cheap/lame to mention the ending as a favorite, but it's true! I thought it was so sweet how he surprised her during the play! && the way she desperately ran to him... QAQ


4) What do you like about Zidane & Garnet as a couple? For instance, is there anything unique about them compared to other FF couples? Or do you consider them to be similar to another FF couple?

I like how Zidane & Garnet never totally got along with each other at first. They had their disagreements and drama here and there, so it felt like a very realistic depiction of how relationships truly are. && I think that it was very apparent how much Zidane loved her through the dialogue. You didn't have to read in between the lines as it is in other FF games sometimes. >.> (*cough*VII*cough*)

5) Zidane and Garnet are going on a date. Create that scenario! (Where are they and what are they doing? xD)

They head to a cozy but lovely restaurant in Lindblum for dinner. Zidane accidentally hits on the long-haired, red-dressed brunette waitress. Garnet shoots him a glare he is all-too-familiar with and he laughs awkwardly while scratching the back of his head. Afterwards, they watch a play featuring the forbidden love between a moogle && a chocobo. Finally, they hitch a water taxi ride and end the day by watching the sunset<3 yay~ ;3

Zidane was a little too immature at the beginning of FFIX to be a good boyfriend. He was a witty 'ladies man.' ;) He enjoyed flirting with the girls and was pretty unaware of how upset they would be if they fell for him. :hmmm: I don't think Zidane was a nasty person - he didn't toy/flirt with girls because he was malicious - but he was very naive and thoughtless. This changed during the story, of course! and Zidane proved that a little growing up was all he needed to become kind and considerate. :ryan:

2) What were your first impressions of Garnet? Would she make an ideal girlfriend in real life?
Garnet had her flaws too. She took herself far too seriously. :lew: She was a bit selfish, pursuing her own desires, sometimes at the expense of others. She didn't listen to her uncle in Lindblum, for example. Again, this changed as the story developed. She began to understand the meaning of responsibility and the importance of empathy. I think she learnt to trust others more, including those who are different (Zidane). She also learnt the meaning of respect; you can't expect it, you should give it.

3) Do you have any favorite Zidane x Garnet scenes from the game? Share them!
Lots!
- All the times Zidane teases Garnet. :lew: It was kinda hilarious when he asked her out on a date, for example.
- Zidane saving Garnet from Alexandria! At last, she appreciated him fully!
- Zidane approaching Garnet after she loses her voice and understanding that she needs some time alone.
- The ending!! 'You're back!!!.... How DARE you leave me for so long. *bash bash*' 'Haha... Listen, I'm sorry.' *love all round*

4) What do you like about Zidane & Garnet as a couple? For instance, is there anything unique about them compared to other FF couples? Or do you consider them to be similar to another FF couple?
They have a unique chemistry. In my mind, they are the cutest couple. :lew: They tease one another, get annoyed, but fall in love and learn to appreciate one another, even their differences.

They balance one another out like Rinoa and Squall and Yuna and Tidus. R&S were peppy(R) and moody(S). Y&T were reserved/selfless(Y) and energetic/selfish(T). G&Z are serious(G) and playful(Z).

At the beginning of the game I thought what another jerk. Somebody who treats women like sex objects and makes lame "oh she's pretty " jokes and his pick up lines. Oh my gosh. But as the game goes along he grows and develops and becomes a much better person. I'll split Zidane in half. Early Zidane no frucking way. Later Zidane hell yes.


2) What were your first impressions of Garnet? Would she make an ideal girlfriend in real life?

I liked her ! She was the independent smart girl who wanted to do things by herself without being a damsel in distress. Hallelujah ! I don't know; she's quite independent and quite difficult to swoon and plus she's royal. I'll say yes; but be prepared to take the backseat and perhaps a long distance relationship.

3) Do you have any favorite Zidane x Garnet scenes from the game? Share them!
Oh gosh so many !!! My favorite moment is when Zidane cheers up Garnet before she cuts her hair by Queen Brahne's grave. I've forgotten the speech. But it was epic. I also love the "night story " time when Zidane shares his childhood to Dagger when they're at The Black Mage Village. And the story of Ispen when they're on the broken boat. Oh ! And during the You're Not Alone scene when Garnet heals Zidane with a potion and basically heals him inside as well with her confidence and support.


4) What do you like about Zidane & Garnet as a couple? For instance, is there anything unique about them compared to other FF couples? Or do you consider them to be similar to another FF couple?

They just have many special moments together. It's not a cliche love at first sight story. They sorta clash and not get along at times and Dagger even says that Zidane annoys her because she feels like he treats her like a baby. They've sorta of tied together by fate and the adventure helps make the love between them come together. They feel real.

....Err well I really don't think like a girl but! I figured at first Zidane was just a typical thief who got some every now and then, but I think when he met Garnet he really had some strong feelings for her and helped her out alot, by teaching her how to talk and whatnot, I didn't really get the feeling he would be a BF Material type till later on when he would do anything to impress her ((surprised it takes so long to win her over lol))


2) What were your first impressions of Garnet? Would she make an ideal girlfriend in real life?

Again At first no, tbh to me she seemed Really uptight and all and kind of greedy asking random people to kidnap her though it was gonna happen anyways, but once she spent time with Zidane and grew into more of a regular person she really shined, She was nice, didn't like to be teased, wasn't afraid of risking her life for people. As for if she'd be a good gf, I dunno shes nice,bold, and strong willed but I'd have to look at her harder to get a feeling for that question x.x;.

3) Do you have any favorite Zidane x Garnet scenes from the game? Share them!

... Lesse, I loved the first Airship scene in Dali where Zidane mistakenly grabs Garnets royal butt, probably one of the scenes that made me laugh my ass off, It was so good and she got soooo mad when he did it but come on by the time she would have gotten on he wouldn't have been able to get on the ship >=o.

Another one would be the small boat scene in Madin Sari, where they find the boat Garnet was in with her biological mother I felt this was one of the scenes that really showed that they were growing to love each other.

4) What do you like about Zidane & Garnet as a couple? For instance, is there anything unique about them compared to other FF couples? Or do you consider them to be similar to another FF couple?

Like Chant chan I liked how they seemed like a real working relationship where they didn't get along well at first, but started to grow closer as they traveled together, but it was really a surprise a simple thief could even meet a princess let alone get one to fall for you xD, tbh this is one of the more unique couples in FF because of the vast difference in their characters. I personally loved the love pairing and how it showed they had feelings for each other at times.

The two are at Treno, They have a nice relaxing dinner near the lake close to the synthesis shop, as they get up and finish Garnet get up from her chair and walks to the side while Zidane pays for the meal, a young man bumps up against Garnet knocking her down, she falls on her butt and Zidane helps her back up, after she says what happened Zidane grabs her hand softly and chases after the young man, they end up at the Auction Hall where the young man was paying for his "item" when Zidane taps his shoulder and the young man turns around he shutters at the sight of Garnet and runs away, when Zidane picks up Garnets money and the "Item" he turns around and places both in her hand.

Garnet Looks puzzled till she opens the box which had a pair of Garnet Earrings, Zidane paid the young man to play a thief to lead them to the Auction House where the young man would buy a present for Garnet while they had their meal, when he explained Garnet puffed her cheeks out in anger and turns away but secretly smiles at the elaborate way he gave her the present.

I would like to join. Zidane and Garnet make for a great couple (my favourite FF couple in fact), and I just love FFIX in general.

1) What were your first impressions of Zidane? Would he make an ideal boyfriend in real life?
FFIX was the first game I ever played, so Zidane was one of the first FF characters I ever saw. I liked him, I thought he was funny, especially calling Steiner Rusty. He has that easygoing charm you see from the start. He's very kind, and would be caring to any partner, but she might not like his attention wandering to other women at times!

2) What were your first impressions of Garnet? Would she make an ideal girlfriend in real life?
I saw Garnet as someone who found it hard to reconcile her duty with what she wanted. I think Garnet would be a great girlfriend once she started to overcome her reticence and reserve.

3) Do you have any favorite Zidane x Garnet scenes from the game? Share them!
Their scene by the telescope in Lindblum Castle, where Zidane hears Garnet singing. And their saying goodbye to one another as Zidane goes to find Kuja at the end of the game.

4) What do you like about Zidane & Garnet as a couple? For instance, is there anything unique about them compared to other FF couples? Or do you consider them to be similar to another FF couple?
I like how there is a park between Zidane and Garnet right from the start of the game when they meet. The relationship between them progresses at a believable, realistic pace. And it's interesting how Garnet causes Zidane to start feeling something he never really expected. I'm not sure where they stand in relation to other FF couples, not sure I can think of any direct comparisons

Maybe they could take an airship date together, over the skies of Alexandria, possibly across to Lindblum or around the Mist Continent. Quina could make them some food to take along! XD

My first impressions were along the lines of 'Oh god he has a tail' and then I found out he was a thief and then I was like I don't really care about you at first. Then as time went on the more we discussed this personality that felt that it was locked away.
2) What were your first impressions of Garnet? Would she make an ideal girlfriend in real life?
Garnet has the looks that is for sure but it depends on how she delivers herself. As she is of royalty I felt like she would be boring and a drag. But she changes drastically into a strong and independent woman towards the end. She has so much responsibility on her shoulders and she executes it without the slightest bit of strain to her life. She'd be fine in reality I think, maybe the Garnet that develops later and not at the beginning
3) Do you have any favorite Zidane x Garnet scenes from the game? Share them!
Has to be the moment in which Zidane has to find Garnet in Lindblum and she is up top near the giant telescope singing to herself. You see lovely white birds flying off in the distance and have a nice view of the world below....its nice.
4) What do you like about Zidane & Garnet as a couple? For instance, is there anything unique about them compared to other FF couples? Or do you consider them to be similar to another FF couple?
Well this is a tough one to answer. I feel they are sort of similar to that of Yuna and Tidus on how the begin to develop their liking for each other as the story progresses. You clearly later on know Tidus has feelings for Yuna and you get that with Zidane. Garnet carries similar traits to Yuna i.e. the weight of expectation. Garnet is a princess and Yuna is a high summoners daughter who saved the world.

Zidane meets Garnet at the entrance to Alexandria, they walk slowly towards the ally in which contains Ruby's theater to see her latest play. They watch it contently and both admire at each other throughout. The take a walk up to the bridge which goes over the pond. They both stare into the water at their own reflections looking at what could be. Zidane pulls back and looks at Garnet, he looks at the nearest flower bush and sees a white flower that would suit her most. He picks it out and walks up to Garnet and places it in her hair as they smile at each other. Garnet blushes at Zidane and slowly moves in for the kiss, Zidane passes out of sheer joy.
