Ok I gots a PS3 and i've been playing Assasin's Creed a whole lot....but that's besides the point.

ok so i go to play FFX on my PS3 and it's unsupported. come to find out that i have the 40g model that doesn't support it, go figure right.

so i'm here to ask if there is any media Download or OS system Download for the PS3 that i can use to have it read PS2 games. So i'll know whether to trade it in for a 60 gig or not

Depends how new you bought it. The newer ones don't have backward compatibility.

Ya i asked for a PS3 then right before i got it someone told me that it has no backwards compadabilty so i told my mom and she got me a 80GB. Im telling you its definitly worth the extra 100$.

To be honest, I think Sony's 'Limited Time 60GB model' was a mistake, though I can see the logic behind selling 40GB models instead as the PS3's were selling very well a lot of people were counting on being able to play PS2 games on it. I was lucky to get a 60GB version because they released them in March which was a month before my birthday so I could play PS2 games. Neverthless, you will find once the top titles start to be released you will most likely lose interest in the PS2 titles.
