I like to keep my music files well organized and correctly tagged on my computer, cos I'm weird like that. Just before Christmas my hard drive died and had to replace most of my music for my new one. I've been gradually re-ripping, re-downloading and re-tagging for months, bit by bit, and almost finished.
However I seem to have a problem. Every now and then the file names and tags have been either reverting back to a previous state or completly vanishing on their own. Sometimes just mins after I re-tag, the sod will revert back. My laptop hasnt been connected to the internet for months so it can't be a web-related automated thing.
Needless to say I'm pretty pissed off with this as I have an expansive collection and like it to be all neat and tidy and I've spent quite abit of time doing so. Not to mention when I want to play something through iTunes or WinAmp and they cant locate the file because the names changed I have to locate it myself which is rather annoying. Especially when rageing drunk or about to get down 'n' dirrty and require some seirous tuneage for the ride. Can anyone tell me whats changing my files and how to prevent it from happening in future?
Cheers.
