Ok, so I just started Disc 4 and I completely forgot about the Chocograph side quest, is it too late to start? If not, how does the Chocobo treasure hunting thing actually work? I'm replaying this game after 10 years and I never did it on my first playthrough, so I'm in much need of Chocograph wisdom. Thanks!

I'd say Disc 4 is actually one of the better times to start the Chocograph sidequest, since you can't really complete it until the beginning of the disc anyways. 
The basic premise is that there are four locations around the world where you can play a Chocobo digging game, the first being a chocobo forest near Lindblum. Play the digging game enough and you'll uncover Chocographs, little clues to locations around the world where you can find treasure with a Chocobo.
As far as advice goes, just keep on digging (it takes a lot of playing the digging game to find all 20-ish Chocographs). The fellow at each location will inform you when all the Chocographs are missing from that location. Eventually, you will be able to upgrade your chocobo to reach new areas, new treasures, etc.
Get started on that and come back if you have any more specific questions. Good luck.

Ok, I've collected all the Chocographs and found all the mountain crack treasures, but for some reason I can't find any of the ocean treasures. Even after I went online to view their locations I'm still having no luck.
Does it have something to do with the Chocobos' hints at the Chocobo Paradise? I got all the mountain crack hints, but how do I get the ocean treasure hints?
