These last two days I've been getting this annoying warning from Norton pop up just about every time I click on anything on FFF.

I try to open a thread and this page comes up:

Click

Then I go to view details of the threat and get this:

Click

Does anyone know why this would be happening or WTF Widdit is?

I think you may have a hoax virus on your computer.

It tries to disguise itself as a virus, but when it's detected, it's really a malfunctioning program.

Though, tbh, I haven't the slightest clue as to why this is happening. I think the first link has something to do with the addons on your FireFox.

Thanks for the help.

I did a full system scan through Norton and cleared some tracking cookies and I haven't had any problems since then. Before it was literally at least every second link I was clicking that made that warning pop up. :hmmm:

Fingers crossed it doesn't happen again!

Mods: I'd like to keep this open so that in case more problems arise I can come back to it.

Norton uses a lot of resources on a computer. That's why I don't use it.

I don't know if you bought it or it came with the computer but you might want to get rid of it eventually and use something that takes less space and less resources.

Good luck

if you want a difference type of anti virus, you should try avg free... i been using it for a few years now and i love it XD simple to use... you can set it to scan every time you start up the computer, and i never had it not find a virus yet on it :P... sooo you should really give it a try some time :D

You use Norton?

Well I definitely recommend a change of Anti-Virus programs from Norton to something else (I use AVG Free edition and thank god I switched) because Norton has been sub-par compared to other programs due to one reason mentioned by ANGRYWOLF that it uses a lot of resources and the second reason is that it blocked FFF out.

My whole family has always used AVG as well. Dad works with computers and loves it, says it's the best. It doesn't use too many resources like some but it can cause some slow downs, but so has every other virus program.

Honestly, I've went without it for long period of time and I've never gotten a virus that was that bad anyway. Maybe I'm just lucky. :holyshit:

I'm not having this problem anymore.

It turned out that one of my add ons was trying to load up widdit.com or something.

Apparently it was somehow linked to Widdit in some way even though I've never even been to that website or downloaded anything from it.

I disabled it and now I've never had any problems since I've done that!

This thread can be closed now please!
