Noel Gallagher has quit rock band Oasis, blaming his brother for the walk out.
A statement on the band's website read: "It is with some sadness and great relief that I tell you that I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.
"Apologies to all the people who bought tickets for the shows in Paris, Konstanz and Milan."
Earlier, it was announced the band had cancelled their second gig in the space of a week because of "an altercation within the band".
They were expected to play the Rock en Seine festival in Paris but the crowd were told by Bloc Party, who were due to perform before Oasis, that the Manchester band would not be taking the stage.
Many of the crowd thought it was a joke - until the big screens at either side of the main stage showed the message "As a result of an altercation within the band, the Oasis gig has been cancelled".
Ben Clover, 28, who travelled from south London for the festival, said: "I was hoping to see the band on the top of their game - now I am not sure we will ever see them perform live again.
"There are a lot of British Oasis fans who have come over for this gig and they are very disappointed."
Last weekend the band pulled out of the V Festival in Chelmsford, which they were meant to headline. The band pulled the plug on their show at the annual music event because frontman Liam Gallagher was struck down with viral laryngitis. Their non-appearance sparked rumours they were set to split.
Earlier this month Liam revealed his relationship with his brother is so bad they no longer speak, travel separately on tour and only see each other on stage.

...hmm. Past their best anyways tbh.

Hasn't this happened before? They fall out, split up, get back together.....

although, agreed on them being past their best. Not heard anything good out of them for donkies

Exactlt:wacky:
Just after Ian Brown says the Stone Roses won't be reforming.
Bands from Manchester always seem to split up, Oasis just do it over and over again.
They're far past their prime, but if bands like Status Quo are still going, just because Oasis are past their best doesn't mean they should stop.
Basically, I think they kiss and make soon, and if they don't it's no big loss:elmo:

Yeah Oasis are kinda the British Mötley Crüe in that aspect atleast haha. I doubt this will last longer than a couple of months.

Whether they get back together or not they're all over the news and irritating the heck out of me.

Well I dunno if it is really all over the news... But it has been every time I walk past it.

Well if it is true (and lord knows if it is or they've just had another bustup) then it's about 13 years too late.

I havent liked their newer stuff at all tbh and their recent live performances have been poor from the vids ive watched.
Ive never cared for Liam anyway, id be interested in seeing Noel maybe making some more solo work as hes clearly the talented one out of the 2 and has a much better voice than that twat Liam.
At least we dont have to read about theyre petty squabbles in the paper no more now that theyv split up...or maybe we'l hear more.

Noel's solo work that I've heard (The Dreams We Had As Children) is rather amazing, so he'll manage to still have a good career in music. Apparently this has been coming for a few months now, they'd said after they played at Wembley that this set of gigs would be their last for a while because Noel wants to work solo for now and Liam wants to take time with his family/his clothing label.

I'm a pretty big Oasis fan so I don't think their new stuff is that bad, but it's certainly only a shadow of what they were in the mid-to-late 90s.

Apart from the odd couple of songs here and there, they haven't done anything brilliant since (What's the Story) Morning Glory? in my opinion anyway. And they've certainly been pretty quiet the last few years.. It'll probably only be the die-hards who notice/care.

If Noel (I can never remember which is which) is going to do some solo work then that might be something to look out for.. but then it could just be a huge flop like Don't Believe the Truth was... we'll just have to see.

Is this even news? Haven't they broken up publicly like more than 3 times now? And I'm sure a lot more than that behind the scenes. That's what happens when you put two brothers with egos in the same band, and things start getting personal.

"Ye mum" goes both ways in this equation. The 2x effect is too much for them.

You'd think the brothers were actually little kids fighting over who gets all the attention. I used to like them, but after seeing them constantly being in the papers for the wrong reasons, I don't really anymore. But as people have said, they fight and make up, etc. We'll just have to see where this goes. It's the fans I feel sorry for, not the band.
