Official Final Fantasy XIII Japanese Site Updated - New Screenshots!

The official Final Fantasy XIII site is now updated with new screenshots and also character info of the newly revealed characters in the final, Final Fantasy XIII trailer. What is worth noting is that Cid Raines has not been placed in 'The Sactum' section and finds himself under the six main playable characters: Lightning, Snow Villiers, Sazh Katzroy, Hope Estheim, Oerba Dia Vanille and Oerba Yun Fang as well as Serah Farron all whom play massive roles in the game.

So we get to play as him? That's nice, if so. Although, it also says Nora under those names so it might not mean what I thought it meant.

Vanille's summon looks pretty ugly in it's normal form, but when it transforms it looks nice.

Ah, what I was waiting to see Looks powerful.

Btw, the music I'm hearing on the site I'm really liking, I hope they at least keep the same background music from the Japanese release for NA, maybe it'll help distract me from the theme song.

I agree, though it just looks ugly in general.

I reckon he might play an important part to the story though I don't think he'll be playable, probably a guest if anything. I can't find any other reason as to why he'd be separated from 'The Sanctum' section if he didn't have a significant role. Although, from what I've read in the other thread about details on Cid, he's not actually that much of a bad guy.

I take it back what I said about Hecatoncheir when I first saw it. It doesn't look too bad now. It actually looks more incredible in higher definition images. Its Gestalt form has also grown on me as well and it's an interesting design.

A Lightning VS Cid duel would be an awesome spectacle. The only way to make it even more impressive would be Lightning and Yun Fang VS Cid. If SE can recreate an Angeal VS Genesis VS Sephiroth kind of cutscene, I would be ecstatic forever.

Shallow person that I am when it comes to character designs, I'm gonna be loving it when pretty people beat the crap out of each other

He could just be a guest character. Which still could make him a bad guy. Sephiroth from FFVII is considered a guest character, Vossler from FFXII, etc.

I'm begining to like the look of Hecatoncheir a lot more now that they have provided us with some clearer images, and revealed his head a lot clearer. I'm looking forward to seeing this summon in action actually. And the way Vanille does the gun fingers when Hecatoncheir fires at the enemy with her riding on top looks like it would be an awesome thing to see.

Cid still hasn't impressed me yet. This might change when I learn what is his personality is going to be.

I think I already commented on an image elsewhere of him. I think I said something along the lines of him being hot. XD

I don't think he'll be a playable character though it sounds as if Oerba Yun Fanf will be in and out of the party a lot and since he sounds as if doesn't really agree with the Sanctum, you never know

I'd presume that Cid and Lightning have unfinished business too. Since he's either got an identical gunblade which they may have both got through the PSICOM or he may just have Lightning's gunblade in his hand.

He also talks with his underling, Captain Rygdea, about his fate as a slave to the fal'Cie.

This, I find interesting.
