As the people of the village take their seats in the coliseum, Arthvader, staying in his competition room, prepares to take whatever weapons that he feel that might be necessary for the upcoming battle. upon hearing the call, Arthvader then headed towards the center, prepared for a good battle. Upon arriving, he sees how the field was set up for his battle.

The battlefield consists of a grassy field, as well as a lake at the center of the field, allowing anyone who uses water magic to use it as they see fit. several hills were formed as well.

'Well, this looks like a nice field for today's battle. I just can't wait for the battle to begin.'

All he need to wait for now is his challenger to appear into the field.

(After this ends, I will try to convince them to let you join again by showing them this thread. If they agree, you will rejoin us. I will say that my unit found you on the verge of death. Then you were healed and offered a job as a mercenary under my command. It will be an honor to fight by your side once again.)

An armor clad in a dark steel armor was waiting within a room located on the opposite side of Arthvader's room. The dark armor enhanced with magical energy. The elemental alignment of the armor changes from time to time in respond to its wearers feelings. Forged from the strongest steel ever known, Orichaicum, the armor is virtually indestructible by any means known by humankind. The armor however, is quite heavy making Julius' spend speed for greater defense. Also the amount of weapons that can be carried are limited to two weapons, Julius's Eternal Edge blade and his short sword, the Light Dagger, a memento of his beloved Nicole. He was sitting on a small chair, his chin resting on his hands, and his elbows placed on top of a small table on which, Julius' helm was placed. Somehow he looked as he were praying. The helm was next to Julius' right forearm. As the time passed, Julius prepared both mentally and physically for this new challenge.

Several months ago, Julius heard of a tournament held by the Ronarian Kingdom, in the city of Zelios. The city was greatly fortified having a few towns within, one of them the village of Arli, the place in which the tournament was being held. As soon as he entered the tournament, Julius overcame every obstacle on his path, succeeding in entering the final round in which he would face another one with his same ranking on the tournament. The price, a beautifully crystal cup decorated with gold, silver and several precious stones like rubies, sapphires and emeralds. The second award was 15000 gil, and a sword crafted by the great blacksmith Marsa. The sword was a middle length sword, a 3 feet long 6 inches wide blade attached to a 1 foot long handle. The hand guard was shaped like two angel wings folding around the area that will protect the wielders hand. Finally the bell announcing the beginning of the match rang, Julius eyes opened in respond. He rose from the chair and took his helm, putting it on as he grabbed his sword and walked towards the arena.

The twin doors opened, letting rays of light entering abruptly. The sounds of a wild crowd and their applauses served as encouragement for Julius, who slowly walked towards the center of the arena. As soon as he reached the center, Julius realized that the man before him was Arthvader, one of his old friends. He smiled, seeing that it was no surprise to see someone as strong as Arthvader making it in the finals so easily. The announcer introduced both warriors as the coliseum was overrun with the cheers of a hot-blooded crowed, the mixture of emotions could be felt on the air.

"I see you are here as well. Good to know you made it this far, old friend. I am Julius Silverwing, I am sure you remember me Arthvader."

(But one thing, Aren't you one of the Antagonists, Julius? I'm just wondering)

Seeing how Julius arrived into the coliseum, Arthvader was so glad that he could have a battle against an old friend. "It's so nice to meet you once again, Julius. It's been a very long time since our last battle. Now let's have a good time."

After saying his greetings, Arthvader prepared his flaming broadsword for battle, grasping the hilt tightly. "Let the battle begin!" The announcer shouted, and the crowd went wild, knowing that this battle will be one of the greatest around.

"Don't think about going easy on me, Julius. I want to really prove who's better between the two of us." Arthvader said to Julius. As the battle begun, Arthvader Delivers three Wave slashes towards Julius, while standing his ground.

((Yeah but I am the kind of bad guy who seeks redemption near the end of the story.))

"Very well, let us fight today and feast tomorrow. If you win I'll pay everyone's drink in the tavern!"

Julius quickly grasped the hilt of the sword and unsheathed it swiftly, a blinding flash of light cut through the scenario as Julius' blade reflected the sunlight. He dashed towards Arthvader after seeing his opponent sending three powerful waves of energy with flaming sword. Moments before being hit by the first wave, he side stepped to the left to elude it, ducked to elude the second one that passed mere inches above his head, and finally blocked the third one with his sword.

"A little hasty to end this, aren't we?"

Julius bent his knees to gain momentum. His legs sent him with a ferocious leap towards Arthvader as he shortened the distance between them with that quick move. Once he found his opponent at sword's range, he unleashed a barrage of swift sword slashes, most of them missing it's target on an eluding Arthvader. His final attack however, had enough momentum gathered as he backstepped away from here and once again moved forward, lunging his sword at the armor protecting Arthvader's chest.

As Julius begins his attacks, Arthvader has managed to doge most of his attacks, only getting grazed by one of the attack.

"Is that all you got? What the!?" Just as Arthvader finishing talking, Julius has backstepped away from him and started lunging his sword towards Arthvader's chest. with almost no time to response, Arthvader took a step back and managed to block Julius's lunge.

"Perfect. Take this Julius!" Arthvader has managed to take out his mana sword with his other arm, and deliver a horizontal slice towards Julius's legs.

"Oh crap...."

Julius barely managed to elude with a somersault jump that horizontal slice aimed to his legs. Landing a few meters away from Arthvader, he took a defensive stance, bending his knees slightly and holding his sword with both hands. "Time to fight fire with FIRE!" Magical energy in the form of red and black sparks gathered within the sheath of his sword, making the core of the blade to glow with a reddish black aura.

"Take this!!!"

Julius grabbed the tip of his blade with his left hand and then released it, unleashing a vertical left to right slash that unleashed a powerful sword shaped energy wave. The spectral blade hurled fiercely towards Arthvader. As the spectral blade headed towards Arthvader, Julius quickly followed, grasping the hilt of his sword with both hands and setting his hawk like eyes on Arthvader's next move.

"Oh Yeah..."

As the wave headed towards him, Arthvader used his flaming sword to block the wave, but to no avail. Arthvader was barely able to avoid the wave, which was very close to hitting him, by flipping over it. "Darn, your attacks gotten stronger, Julius." Arthvader complemented Julius after that strong attack.

As he see julius quickly heading towards him, Arthvader now charged his energy for a magical attack. "Hey, remember this? GIBARTA!!" Arthvader released a ice wave that formed into three ice pillars.

"Oh not that spell..."

Julius said with surprise as he saw himself surrounded by the ice pilars. After barely eluding the first two ones he got slightly hit by the third. The attack felt blunt and heavy, yet it was enough to put Julius off balance. His feet stumbled a little but he quickly recovered his balance, sprinted towards Arthvader and counter attacked with a powerful downward slice attack aimed to Arthvader's left shoulder.

Julius's counterattack left Arthvader with no time to react, and was forced to take the attack, forcing him back several feet. The attack has left a minor cut on him, thanks to his armor. 'Darn, he got me good. I better be careful with him from now on.'

Arthvader then began charging his energy for another attack. "Get ready for this one. RAFOIE!!!" As Arthvader unleashed the spell, a small flicker of fire has appeared right in front of Julius.

"Once i snap my fingers, that little flicker will become a huge explosion." Arthvader said just as he snapped his fingers, causing the flicker of fire to explode. After casting the spell, though, has started to put a strain in his mind. 'Darn, I guess I should hold off on the spells for a while now.'

"I won't be caught off guard this time!!! Scutum de Energia!!!"

Julius sheathed his blade and placed his hands before him, aiming the palms of his hands towards Arthvader. After chanting the spell, energy gathered right in front of Julius taking the shape of a giant shield. The magical shield was 6 feet tall and 5 feet wide and requires the caster to fully dedicate itself to this action. In this state, Julius was forced to take no offensive movement. The explosion caused by Arthvader was great enough to push Julius and the magical shield a few meters away, and eventually both spells reacted ferociously causing a bigger explosion. A great cloud of dust was lifted, limiting the visibility of the arena. After the cloud faded, Julius could be seen breathing heavily and seemingly exhausted due to the strain that spell caused on his mind. However, he knew that Arthvader would seek and use any chance given, and so he unsheathed his blade once again and searched for Arthvader's whereabouts. He sighted his enemy and soon began to plan his next move based on the previous action.

"Hehehe....almost gone with that one...."

Julius sprinted once more towards Arthvader to shorten the distance between he and his opponent. Once he was close at range, Julius swiftly made a spinning jump, landed near Arthvader and made a 360 degrees slash, mainly aimed towards Arthvader's torso.

Arthvader has managed to block the first part of the attack, but was unable to guard or evade the second part of Julius's attack, knocking him back several feet. the attack has caused part of Arthvader's armor to break upon contact with the blade. He thought to himself 'I haven't had a match like this since our battle back at the training grounds.'

With part of his armor broken, Arthvader has decided to remove what was left of his armor, and put down his swords. This time, he's ready to fight with everything he's got. "I hope you didn't forget about our previous fights, Julius. Now, Fight me with all you got." With all of his armor off, he was able go at a much faster pace.

Arthvader has quickly gotten up close to Julius. "Here I go, PUMMEL!!" Arthvader then began his barrage of fast punches towards Julius's torso.

"What the...?!"

Arthvader's blinding speed combined with Julius lower speed due to his heavy armored fit perfectly in this scenario. The attack caught Julius off guard ending with him blocking the first few hits with his sword and left hand, then taking three to four direct hits to the torso. Even though the armor was not cracked, the energy sustaining the magic of the armor began to take its toll on Julius' body, slowly eating away his stamina. The last punch unleashed by Arthvader sent Julius flying three meters away and crashing back against the ground. "Darn...I am not done yet..." Julius quickly got on his feet and stood firmly before Arthvader. Seeing the fragments of Arthvader's armor scattered around, Julius knew that both were pushed to their limits this time. The battle was a fierce one, both warriors were willing to give it their all to win but sadly only one would leave victorious.

Back in the battle, Julius summoned forth what little magical energy he had left just before being unable to cast magic, just like it happened to Arthvader with his powerful explosive spell. As he waved his left hand from left to right, Julius tightly closed his fist and suddenly a bluish aura gathered on his left fist. The air around his fist became colder, the skies darkened as the clouds gathered. A storm was brewing, the rain already began to fall on them, the drops of water fell on the steel of their armors, they could feel the coldness of the water on their flesh.

"Frigidus!!"

Julius rose his left hand widely open and unleashed the ice energy gathered within his palm. The energy clearly took the shape of six magical spears. The ice spears were six feet long and a foot wide and would easily freeze a target upon contact. Now his mind and magical power pushed beyond normal limits even without training, the strain the spell caused now made Julius unable to cast any more spells. Now that he summoned the six ice spears that kept hovering around him, he referred to Arthvader with respect and admiration.

"I see you have greatly improved Arthvader. I am quite surprised to see myself taken this far, yet I don't regret entering this tournament much less fighting against you. It has been an honor. Still I intend to finish this battle soon enough...either as the victor or the loser..."

Julius eyes shined deep sky blue within his helm as he snapped his fingers, thus the ice spears hovering around him flying high above them and then coming rushing down like a fierce blizzard. Not waiting to see if his spell was successful, Julius gathered the remaining magical energy floating around them and concentrated it within his blade, thus releasing it once again in the shape of a giant shock wave. Now he was greatly exhausted, his body would soon force him to rest for it couldn't take this stress anymore. The adrenaline pumping through his veins was fading, and only the determination to win fueled this great warrior.

As Julius sent a shock wave towards him, Arthvader attempted to dodge the shock wave, but got hit in the process. the hit has pushed him back about 2 meters. He thought to himself 'Darn, that attack really hurts now. I guess it's the fact that I have no armor on. But that's not my concern at the moment. What worries me more are those ice spears that surround him.'

He was right. the ice spears are capable of freezing anything upon contact. Suddenly, the ice spears has started to fall down towards him.

'You have got to be kidding me!!' He thought as he started to avoid all of the ice spears. As he dodged all of the spears, Arthvader manages to get in close to Julius and counterattacked Julius with a fearsome kick towards the head.

The attack cleanly hit Julius helm, knocking him of balance once again and forcing him to back step a few feet away from Arthvader. Barely able to keep it up, Julius wondered how he was able to stay on his feet. With much effort, Julius regained his balance as he grasped with his already hurting hands the hilt of his sword. Both warriors were almost drained of energy, though the lack of energy had less effect on Arthvader than it had on Julius. Arthvader took most of the weight away by removing most of his armor, but Julius was steel clad within an iron shell from head to toe, and keeping up with that was hard enough, not to mention the amount of damage he had taken. The sound of his breath intensified by the helm could be heard echoing through the battlefield. The arena was seemingly destroyed with craters and wholes on all sides, effects of the spells being cast during the fight. Now the source of his power, the "Dark Gem" was preparing to charge Julius for using its power, for like a parasite it would now slowly drain him of his remaining energy until forcing him to withdraw. The countdown had begun with the time factor being against Julius. The knight clad in iron was panting, the exhaustion could be seen on his shaking hands.
"I...can't keep it up....but I must....yet the stone....it demands power....it wants more nourishment...it needs energy...Argh..."
Julius snapped away from his trance and quickly grasp a hold of the situation he was facing, he knew he was running out of time. Now aiming his sword at Arthvader, he charged against him with all the strength he could master at the moment, lunging his blade for a fatal blow, yet the chance of missing his target were high.

Just as Julius charged towards him with his blade, Arthvader managed to jump over Julius's attack. Just as Arthvader avoided the attack, he even landed on top of Julius's blade. "Is this all you have left, Julius?" He said towards a somewhat exhausted Julius.

A few seconds later, Arthvader jumped off the blade, and landed behind Julius. "Well, it's been fun, but..." As Arthvader was saying something to Julius, He put his hands back towards his side, charging energy in his hands in the process.

As he finished charging his energy, he said to Julius "...It's time to finish this. AURABOLT!!!" Arthvader pushed his hands forward, unleashing a massive wave of energy, targeting Julius right in the back.

The burden of the "Gem of Punishment" was too much for him to bear alone. He was aware that not mastering the power of the stone would coast him losing energy during battle to sustain the gem. As Julius missed his attack, he stumbled a little and fought for control over to keep his consciousness. Julius knew Arthvader was behind him and was preparing to launch a final attack. He knew that avoiding the attack would be seemingly impossible, that casting a protective spell was not an option and that counter attacking was too risky. Julius didn't wanted to, but he had to recur to his only choice: the stone. A fatigued Julius turned to face Arthvader, he sheathed his sword and held his right wrist with his left hand as he rose his right hand towards Arthvader. His right hand began to glow with a reddish black aura, and it seemed it was gathering energy from around them. It was negative energy, the negative energy left as the result of the battle they've been fighting for hours. The area around his hand became unstable, shaking violently as it gathered more power. The moment of truth was near and Arthvader had just released a powerful bolt of energy towards Julius.

"Judgment Blade!"
In a fraction of second, a desperate Julius finished gathering the negative energy around him and unleashed it in the shape of a dark reddish blade that soared through the energy bolt send by Arthvader, cutting through it like a hot blade through butter. Both attacks canceled each other and the result was a powerful explosion that knocked Julius a few feet away from the energy field that was created. Back against the ground, Julius could only see a thick layer of dust covering the whole battlefield. He struggled to get on his feet, holding his right hand was place on his right shoulder. The battle seemed that it could no longer continue. As the cloud of dust dissipated, Julius could see Arthvader, a great crater separating them. He couldn't tell if Arthvader was hurt or not, but it no longer mattered, the battle had ended.

The announcer came in nervously awaiting for Arthvader. Julius walked towards his friend and formally saluted him. "You are strong...but this does not ends here. You and I are fated to battle again someday, but today the heavens are satisfied with our duel. I give this match to you, because even though our powers were equal, your will and desire for victory gave you that small advantage. You truly wanted to win and that's why you won, I on the other hand did not cared whether to lose or not, I did not had the same thirst for victory you now have."

After Julius congratulated him after the battle, Arthvader started saying something to Julius. "Thanks for the battle, Julius. It was a real pleasure meeting you again. Until then, I guess I will see you later." These were the words Arthvader said before he started to head out of the field.

But just as he was about to leave the field, he had one more thing to ask of Julius. "Oh, Julius, I'm just wondering, you want to head out to the bar? After all, we had just recently went through a serious battle, and I think this is a great way to relax."

(Now from this point we will explain how he re-joins the RP, if Lost Soul agrees)

"Maybe some other time Sir Arthvader. Now enjoy your victory. I shall be waiting in the tavern. Farewell." Julius bowed formally and then turned around, leaving slowly as the crowed cheered for the victorious winner. The judges gave Arthvader the Cup of Champions, the symbol that acknowledges him as the champion of this year.
