"In Dollet when the big spider machine thing is chasing your party, and when you get to the pub just before the bridge going overhead, two SeeD's come out, shout out "Squad C withdraw!" and then run away, right?

Well, if you run into the pub rather then carrying on running down the street, the machine spider thing will actually go past the pub and chase some other people, and then you can calmly make your way down to the beach where you can to Questis, she says "Hurry!" and you get on the vessel and go back to Balamb. You miss out the cool movie where she kills the machine thing, though.

Does anyone else know about this secret?"

Haha, I never knew this! This is awesome. Did anyone else know this?

btw, I stole this info from another forum. Haha.

Yeah, it would have saved me from dying so many times. I didn't want to just run from the spider, I wanted to kill it... So, yeah, I wonder how you can kill it, if there is a way??

i think you should have given it a few thunders and it dropped dead lol, it was an annoying enemy when ya couldnt kill it, and yeah i knew about it. the second time i played through i went inside being stupid thinking can i go in their not caring for the spider and lol i didnt watch the fmv lol :)

You can kill X-ATM092 or the spider easily if Quezacotl's Sum Mag is 30% and if he has the boost ability. Battle and defeat it 8 times, then it'll die out finally. Its worth it for how much AP you get. Around 500 AP if I remember.

You also have to have 1000 compatibility to be able to summon it in the quickest time possible.

Whoa, I never knew that. I guess I'll try it the next time I start a new game.

There is a consequence for doing this: your mission points are significantly decreased. Your initial SeeD level will be lower.

You can kill this spider-X83HGUIHYF03B thing (Can you tell I pressed random keys?) by constantly mashing it with Quezacotl.

There's an easier way to kill it you know. Actually, two ways, but one you need a GS(Do I even need to explain that way?)

My FF8 disc wouldn't go past the cutscene with squall on the boat for the longest time, so I was stuck in Balamb for about two weeks. Two weeks of training alone with Squall. He got to lv 71 by the time my mom got a disc scratch thingie and I could get to dollet. Bosses in the first three discs become incredibly easy, but there is a MAJOR downside to this- You almost never get EXP when you have a lv this high. Against Ultimecia, Squall was 100 while Irvine and Rinoa were only 32(Thank goodness for Holy Wars)

true, but then, you can do those seed tests to make your seed level higher.

But you still gain a crap load of ability points which is much worth it. All of my GF's learned half of there abilities and plus you can just take the SeeD test to raise your SeeD level if you want that is.

Woah thts a lot of training...im still in the process of obtaining another copy of the game (i commited a crime and lent it out-never 2 get it bck again) but thnx 4 the pointers on the spider-ill hav 2 try both avoiding it and killing it....and i may try the whole training thing b4 hand!

o0 many things i didn't know hehe thx guys gotta try it sometime especially killing that machine hehe

guys don't forget one important thing

everytime it re fill it heath in the battle you get 50 AP so i think no reason to run away if you have qoczacotl with summag+10% an +20%

nice trick to kill that spider,,, my first time to encouter it... my hands are shaking coz i really dont know how to run so fast so i wouldn't fight it... ahehehehe
