Pandora Crisis8:00 am

Nevaria Sthals tossed in her soft sheets. Her alarm clock sat blaring loud in the darkness upon her nightstand. The pale woman extended her slender arm towards it, feeling around in the dark as her head was still buried beneath her pillow. The night's rest had been kind to her and as she pressed the button atop her alarm clock her mind and body felt refreshed for the day ahead of her.

The woman sat up instantly and gazed outside the window of the bedroom in her condo. The sky was just lightening up little by little. The atmosphere outside gave a dark presence and the sky was gray, a normal color for the city. It seemed as if it would snow yet again in Cometerium city. The woman rose herself up out of bed and walked over to her closet. Luckily the heater within her room still worked. She quickly tossed on a robe over her nightgown and headed out towards her kitchen.

Passing the room of her two kids Nevaria smiled. It looked as if her husband had already taken them to school and went to work. This would leave her to relax for the morning before she began her daily duties as a mother. She had began to turn on the coffee maker as soon as she entered the kitchen. She could tell that it was going to be a long day for her. After walking back to her room she slipped into a crisp white sun dress and matching high heels. Nevaria also found the time to put on her makeup and to style her hair.

Once she found herself situated Nevaria made her way back to her kitchen, taking out a mug she poured herself a cup of black coffee. The woman found herself taking a big sniff of her drink before feeling vibrations. It seemed that the condo was shaking increasingly. "Shit!" Nevaria gasped as the steaming black coffee spilled out onto her hand, causing her to drop her mug to the floor.

She grabbed a hold of a nearby counter and widened her eyes in horror. If something were to happen to her building, she was on the 26th story. There would be no way she could survive a collapse that high. The woman grabbed the blinds covering the window in front of her kitchen sink and with the quacking room acciently ripped them off the window. What she saw was bright and big. It was an orb and it flamed, falling from the sky above and onto the city. Nevaria's eyes widened in surprise as the white light the giant object emitted illuminated every visible surface.

She closed her eyes from the blinding light and grasped the sink for dear life, not knowing what would happen within the next few moments.

Nia Orzech
8:00am

The air was crisp and chilly and the sky was a dull grey when Nia arrived at Artemisia's home. She worked there part-time as a cleaner, she was the only one who cleaned the house but there was other hired help for the garden, the womans house was gigantic so it wasn't a wonder she had hired people to keep it tidy.

The Fair blond girl placed the key in the lock and let herself in, turning the handle with her dainty hand. She had been working here for quite a while now and it seemed she was trusted enough to be given a spare key to the house. Once inside she took off her long winters coat and hung it on the coat rack in the hall way.
The home was neatly decorated in a stunning Japanese style and Nia found herself fretting each time she'd pick up a priceless oriental Vase or statue; the thought of breaking it was unbearable.

Nia was dressed in her uniform, it wasn't anything special, just a blue polo shirt and three-quarter jeans with some comfortable flats.

"Where to begin today...?" she pulled a hair tie from her bag and began to tie up her long golden locks as she walked to the kitchen to collect the cleaning supplies. The girl wasn't sure where Artemisia was this morning, perhaps she was still in bed... it would be a good thing to do the vacuuming last until she was sure of where Artemisia was... waking her was probably not wise.

"Hmm ok, I got Jiff, Spray and wipe... ohh... gloves..." She put the pink rubber gloves on "...it's really dark in here..." Nia then walked over to the curtains, pulling them open, it was still gloomy out there, winter was definitely around the corner, how she hated winter. She then walked back to the kitchen bench tops and began her work, squirting the Jiff on the sink, scrubbing it until the metallic glistened. Nia brought a hand up to wipe her brow but found herself being shaken out of balance. Then the whole house began to move and rock and rattle. Was it an earthquake?? That was the first thought that came to the girls mind.

Then suddenly a blinding light came blaring through the open window stunning the girl, making her collapse to the floor. "Help..." was all she could choke out before everything around her
faded to black.

(OOC) Tipsy, hopefully I got everything about your characters house correct :) I also gave my character a key so she could get in haha.

Krysta Elnori
Annoyance was always something that came far too easily for Krysta. It came even easier when everyone she worked with were morons. At times like these, she usually waited until things settled down, but both sides of the argument here were arguing themselves into a giant circle. The argument was something arbitrary as well… over what the budget should be spent on. Half of them wanted new gurneys. The wheels on them would lock up from time to time, and when you’re trying to push a patient into the ER… that wasn’t exactly a nice thing to have happen.

The other side, however, wanted new computers. The computers they had were old, some still even running on ancient hardware. Neither side wanted to compromise. And apparently the morons were ready and willing to fight to the death over what the money was spent on. On one hand, you had the Doctors, and on the other, the nurses and the IT department. It was the ultimate showdown that no one really cared about.

Krysta had a simple solution, but everyone was shouting too loud for her to get her idea spoken. This served only to annoy her even more. Every time one of them said the word “idiot” she couldn’t help but associate them all with it. She could either wait out their shouting, or interrupt everyone right now by shouting. They all knew that when Krysta was shouting, things had indeed gotten “real” and she was ready to tear someone a new asshole.

“The computers are fine! It’s the gurneys we should be worrying about!” Someone shouted. To which someone replied, “just slap some WD-40 on it and it’s good! We need new computers!” Of course, it would only be a matter of time before the wheels locked up before. WD-40 wouldn’t solve the problem forever.

She had long since had enough. Krysta’s voice exploded over everyone elses, making sure that everyone in the room could hear her perfectly. “All of you, shut up! This argument has long since played its course. I’ve listened to both sides of this inane garbage and the conclusion I’ve come to is not only better than all of yours, it’s logical and money saving to boot.” She rose from her chair with a murderous rage in her eyes. “We’ll call a repairman to fix the broken gurneys. They’ll do a nice job, or we’ll refuse to pay them. It will save money to go for a few extra ones as well.”

Folding her arms, she continued. “As for the computers, we will buy the parts to upgrade them. We will not, however, be paying for brand new computers, as it’ll be too expensive.” She slowly placed her arms on her desk and leaned in forward. “If I have to listen to this bullshit for five more minutes, no one gets anything, and we spend the money on giving me a raise. Do I make myself clear?

There was silence for a few minutes before one of the female doctors let out a squeaky pitched, “yes”, and everyone made their way out of her office. Problem solved, crisis averted, Krysta wins. As they left her office, she sat down at her desk. She had a surgery in a couple of hours… she was going to have to calm down a little bit. As she leaned back in her chair, she saw a blinding white light. "How... irregular."

Alyss Malian
Alyss had been up since 1am… yesterday. She was up all day and night playing a huge gaming marathon on Quake 3: Arena. BFG’s were fired, people were fraged, fun was had, but only one person would come out on top. Alyss planned on being that person. Quake was a very fast paced game that required fast passed thinking; which Alyss had in spades. Ever since she was little, Alyss was able to think on her toes and react accordingly.

This was no different. People were bunny hopping on maps, spamming rockets, and otherwise playing like noobs. To contrast this, Alyss bunny hopped (with style), made sure every rocket she fired was a killing one, and played like a pro. Her reaction time was lightning fast. Often she would encounter someone jumping around the corner and as soon as Alyss saw them, she fired with their velocity in mind… then she would be insulted as they ran into her rocket and she laughed at them.

Her handle was “73ch/\/ocr47”, or for the simple minded, or those that didn’t enjoy “1337 speech”, she went by “Technocrat”. Once people saw that name pop in their servers, they had better have been prepared for what Alyss called “MAXIMUM RAPE POUNDING”. Alyss didn’t play, she decimated. She would often be asked to move over to games like Call of Duty, but she hated those games. The color scheme was “brown and bloom” and it seemed as if the developers only had brown and green on their color pallets when making it.

It was an eyesore, not to mention far too realistic for her tastes. She hated games were you could die in one shot, for it made everything too easy. Not to mention the community of the game was full of bearded man children and the lowest of the low of gaming. More often than not she wondered if any of them had an IQ higher than that of a broom.

“YES,” Alyss shouted out. The last game was over, and she had won with over 13 points. Her gaming marathon was over, and the score turn out would be posted in the next few days. However, she already did the math in her head. If she had done it right, she would be on top… of course, it would be hard for her not to be. After all, she won all the games she was in.

Taking her headphones off, and shutting down her game she walked over to her bed. “I’ve been neglecting you for so long, bed. I have missed you…” She said, plopping herself down on top of it, not even bothering to take off her clothes. “Those scrubs thought they could beat me… pffft, please.” Alyss started falling asleep. There were no problems... she didn't have to work. She never had to work if she didn't want to... she could sleep forever and nothing bad would ever come of it. There was a bright white light that seemed to surround her. I must be more tired than I thought, thought Alyss.

Artemisia de Lazarus
8:00 AM

Artemisia was aware of Nia's entrane to her house. Efficiency and results was what she lived by and that included wasting no sunlight. Despite spending a majority of last night at a social gathering of a so-called "art socialite" that was new in town up until way past the wee hours of the night, Artemisia woke like clockwork at exactly 6:00, went for a morning run while all the live ins in the side house were still asleep and by 7:15, she was back in her house, showered, cleaned and refreshed in one of her designer suits.

By the time Nia had entered, Artemisia was sitting on the attic balcony (basically a balcony that juts out from the roof with its door being the attic sunroof), sitting back with a book in one hand and Japanese Green tea in the other. She heard the rustling Nia beginning to clean, so Artemisia snapped shut her book and took her tea back into the house. There was something she needed to discuss with Nia. Artemisia found that the girl's work was good and up to her own high standard. Artemisia had decided to give her a raise. She had seen her at times when she went to restaurants at night, so this may also be a welcoming news for her.

Ah, Nia... i have something to discuss with you.

Artemisia called to Nia as she came down the wooden stairs
and headed towards the kitchen. The door was open and she could see Nia.

I have decided that i shall be giving you a raise for your consistent effor....ugh!

The house began to shake causing Artemisia to grab onto the bar top that extended out. She managed to stay on her feet with the support and she was not too worried about her house collapsing due to the confidence she had in her preparation, but the sudden bright, blinding flash caught Artemisia by complete surprise, flooding into the living room via the glass doors facing the garden, forcing Artemisia to shield her eyes from the glare and drop low into a crouch. From her rear, she managed to catch out a small yelp from Nia.

"Help..."

What in the world....?!

Tetsu Roma
6:00

Tetsu was just waking up and putting on his running gear. he put his ipod on and headed out for a 2 hour jog, he should be back here for about 8 , that would leave him just the right amount of time to get breakfast and a shower., he went out and up into the main part of town, through all the old industrial estates on his usual route for his morning jogs and parkour warm-ups

8:00

Tetsu had got in from his morning run and was feeling quite pumped, he had done a 3 mile jog and was ready for some breakfast. He started to cook his favourite breakfast, scrambled eggs on toast, he sat down to eat it and enjoyed the entire thing, he stood up and headed to the bedroom to have a shower before going out to see his friends.

A few moments later he left the room and got dressed, he had just done up his laces when something caught his eye. it had gone alot darker suddenly, he walked over to the window and looked out. The flash that followed his movements to the window very nearly blinded him, the shaking knocked him from his feet. it took a few minutes for him to rub the flash from his eyes and stand up "What just happened?" he asked thin air, a question he was going to end up wishing he hadnt asked

[OOC: Pardon the short post as I rush to clear the backlog of posts due.]

It was going to be a great holiday - or it already is, considering how her parents had saved up enough to pay for a hotel suite. With a room of her own, complete with its own bathroom, cabinet, and even a HD television, she would have to think very hard before she could find fault with this trip.

She jumped on the bed, feeling as if she was the most satisfied teenage girl at that point. "Sure, an exaggeration, but well--"

Before she could continue, light started flaring from around her. It became so bright that she had to cover her eyes. "What the..."

Ivy walked from her room with a huge headache pulsing at the side of her temple. Her vision was incredibly blurry, and a nasty mix of alcoholic odors lingered on her night gown from unpleasant spillages.

Ivy Makato was hungover, and she had a class to teach in one hour.

Her first thought was that hair of the dog would cure the affliction, but one look at what little alcohol was left after her beverage binge sent her to the toilet for an unscheduled and messy detox.

"Come on, you stupid bitch. Get it together," she muttered to herself as she lifted herself from the toilet bowl. Coffee. Yes. Coffee was just what she needed. Pulling herself up through sheer force of will alone, she staggered to the kitchen and started up a steaming cup of coffee, drinking it relievedly. Ah, yes. She had just enough energy left to put the perfect false smile on and set off to deal with those demonic little children, hammering education into their brains that would leak out by the time the weekend rolled back around.

As light streamed in through her window; an unnatural, artificial light that couldn't possibly have been from the sun, Ivy narrowed her eyes as the glare reignited her hangover, making her sigh in displeasure. What in the heck was in that coffee?
