Plunge into Darkness

The city known as Kakao can be seen near the slopes of the icy Narew mountains. Seen at a distance, it seems to take the appearance of a fairly rigid pyramid constructed out of giant rectangular blocks. Constructed from stone and iron, Kakao's larger buildings are factories for mass-producing the city's specialty; chocolate delicacies. A market is set up here to exchange money or chocolate for other goods.

Yet things haven't been too sweet in the city as of late. After a young woman came into town to sell her ball-jointed dolls to the young female community, the children had become vacant. Despite being the cheerful sort of children who are impossible to contain once they've had their fill of sweets, all of the young girls slowly became distanced from everyone else, only giving attention to their little dolls, designed to look exactly like their owners.

The doll maker soon left the city, headed towards the Narew chain. A week later, the girls began disappearing, one by one. Despite efforts to increase the patrols and keep the children within the city limits, they still manage to slip through the security in some way or another. Each one seemed to follow the doll maker in her trail towards the mountains for some unspoken reason. Bewitched, the parents assumed as they formed search parties to recover their children. Alas, the frozen mountains were nigh impassable to common housewives and factory workers.

In the city hall, the parents of the missing girls gathered to decide how to recover their children. The vote was unanimous; send out fliers and attempt to draw adventurers and others more suitable to extreme conditions to rescue their girls. The profit from the chocolate sales would be more than enough to offer as reward money.

The fliers attracted one adventurer in general.

His yellowish attire beneath his light blue coat and his long, red hair tied near the bottom made the young man stand out among the crowd. After all, who in the right mind would live in these parts and wear such short pants and have short sleeves in this chilled weather? As this outsider walked across the new snow that had fallen naught an hour ago, he was staring at a creased sheet of paper, hoping that this was the right town. If he found the town, then the last known location of his lost sister was close by.

"Don't worry, Kyria," he whispered under his breath, a faint white cloud escaping his lips, "I'll find you soon."

Once again the tides of fate take the role of placing heroes and villains on their path against towards their common destiny, one of those many characters being Maximilian Regisheart, a man that once served as the Duke and Lord of the Regisheart Mansion and was now traveling around the western areas of the known world. A tall man, wearing a long red coat, his jet black hair falling before his forehead and on his shoulders and back of his neck, he wears a light chainmail underneath a black and white silk shirt this time, and a small necklace hangs from his neck. His long brown and black boots fell heavy on a stone road, with each step echoing through the streets of the city of Kakao. The nights was marvelously magical lit by the numerous tall posts with small triangle shaped lanterns sparkling with faint bluish and yellowish tones, the lights reflection could be seen on the windows and puddles of water around. The man wandered aimlessly, expecting for something to happen worthy of his attention. It was a could night though, and quite late which meant that most people would be resting in their homes, getting warm before their fireplaces, telling stories and enjoying a warm meal.
"Such beauty, summoned from the depths of God's mind, a truly amazing architect of life and beauty our Lord is..."

2 things:

2: MBWAHAHAH. I cant believe that you actually took the chocolate thing ^^

Dr. Kaj hadn't really been much out of the lab, he managed to get the important stuff brought to him. So this was somewhat a vacation thing, as well as the only way to repay his 'sponsors'.

As he neared the main gates of Kakao, the pyramid shape of the main building was awe striking. He stopped, and looked at it for a minute, then continued walking, aiming for the City Hall. Since he should 'register' for this, so that the people know that someone are on it. And, hopefully, meeting his fellow Bounty hunters.

He neared, but was stopped but a guard. No doubt reassuring who enters and leaves, due to the current circumstances.
"Halt, Who goes there" A man shouted, wearing plate mail, and accompanied by an archer on top of the city walls.
Dr. Kaj gently lifted his glasses with his right index finger, and answered; "I am Dr. Alco Moickrak Kaj, Here for this" He stated, as he took out the flyer from his pocket.
He had put the flyer in the pocket, so that random persons would not report him, if he used his magic.

The guard took the flyer, and skimmed over it. "Ah, you're one of those" He said, with a roll on his eyes. "Yes I am." Dr. Kaj stated, as he took back the flyer. "Is that a bad thing?" he asked. "no. no. don't get me wrong" The guard replied in a defensive mode, "Its just that we have gotten a lot of bounty hunters, and all have eighter fled, or failed" He said.
"Well. I don't plan on failing. I cant fail" Dr. Kaj replied, as he entered the gates, and went towards the City Hall.

How can someone fight against the tides of Fate? How can we, as fragile beings that we are, hold any chances in succeeding against our destinies? One never knows the answer for these for the only thing certain in this world is that nothing is certain. For a knight, a day means an extension to gain a greater glory, for a lover a day means the opportunity to love that special being even more, for one who hates it means another day to seek for revenge. Among those and many reasons, the beginning of the roads to their destinies begin, whether if they choose light or darkness, they will always be eternally tied to them. Do we have any chances on breaking those chains that bind us? No one knows...

Some time passed, and the knight was still there, next to the fountain and staring to his own reflection. Was he waiting for his fated encounter to happen? Who knows, the only thing we know is that he is there, alone, and empty...

(No replies? I'll solve it :P)

Someone once told Maximilian, that love would not save us. This world is so full of killing and blood spilling, blood of innocents and tyrants alike. For Maximilian, life was a constant struggle to survive, but for how long? No one knew, only the tyrannous stars above and the unpredictable tides of Fate can foretell the outcome of this story.

An eternity within his heart passed, and his heart grew tired of waiting, bringing him to the conclusion that his fated battles was not near to come. So he decided, sword in hands, to wander aimlessly through the city and explore its many mysteries. The night was so silent that one could even here the voice of destiny whispering us where should we go. Must we eternally be bound to listen to their words and live as pawns? Who knows, but destiny lies within your hands. Go out, see the stars and bring up your imagination. The world isn't ending, it is more than I can say for you. They say that a hero can save us, but we don't have time to stand to wait. Go and pursuit your destiny. Immortality is there, waiting to be reclaimed by our actions.

"Immortality is waiting for the sound of my sword...the razor winds cutting through the chains of destiny that bind us..."

------------

On his way towards the City Hall. he noticed that the towns folk was rather uneasy around im. Logical enough, due to the fact that he was a stranger, and they just lost their children to a stranger as well.

He got a lot of angry stares, and some of the larger males, stood and slapped a rather large wooden stick in their hands, almost intimidating.
Though, this was indeed understandable.

He looked around, trying to find the City Hall. Normally, it would be placed somewhat in the middle, but not now, The factory seemed to have occupied that space as well.

Looking around some more, he finally he spots a building of some stature, seeming 'better', and bigger then the ones around it, since it was not marked, he took the chance of knocking on it first.

*KNOCK. KNOCK* The sound echoed in the halls inside. And a middle aged woman opened the door with a fast, and dry; "Whatchawhant".

Somewhat struck down, Dr. kaj hesitated, but answered "I am here for the flyer" He said with a fake smile, as he showed the flyer.
The woman squinted her eyes, "Hahahah" She laughed, while holding her stomach."You must be the 10th one lately that have come here about that."She opened the door, and came outside. "That is the building you want" She stated as she pointed towards a large building on the other side of town. "This is the mansion of Lord Halro. So many do this fault"
he looked at this City Hall. it was more or less hidden in between 2 larger factory buildings. "Thank you" Dr. Kaj said, as he started to walk to to the real City hall.

(...Julius? o_O I thought it was Maximillian who was here?)

"Do you always talk to yourself?" a sarcastic voice asked.

There was a young man on the other side of the fountain. Despite the chill in the air, he seemed just fine walking about in his short sleeves and short pants. He looked like he's been wandering around for quite awhile, for his coattails were torn and his shoes were rather worn. In one hand was a folded piece of paper, held between his index and middle fingers. His other hand rested upon the pommel of his saber.

After a smirk hid his scoff, the young man walked around the fountain, holding up the paper enough so he could see it.

"Seriously, though...do you know where the city hall is? My sister's missing and I found this flier..."

Kaj had left the Mansion, heading towards the City Hall.
On the way, he passed various shops, the give away, was the various signs.
One stated 'Herbalist'.
As they tended to work as the apothecary, he decided to get some basic supplies. Though, his money where limited, he knew that he would soone be rich, or not survive.
In the latter case, he would not have to fear them anyway. so.

he entered, and got some of the basics; bandage, Ointment, various medicines.

As he paid, and exited, he decided that he had to jam it into his 'pockets'

he entered the valley close to the herbalists building.
he looked around, it seemed safe.

He took out his left hand, and a dark purplish circle formed, with a dark pink border. Emitting a pinkish faint glow. He emptied the bag in the portal, and
discarded of the bag.

On the way, he noticed 2 unusual characters at the fountain, witch was miraculously, was NOT frozen.

Nevertheless. One of them, A long haired, young man.
he was far to 'pretty' for a human, he had to have elvish blood in him.
and the other; A red haired, also long haired young lad. Witch seemed to have forgotten the fact that it was below freezing temperature.

The one with the elvish traits, seemed to be lost in a world of his own. While the other came from behind, and asked:

"Do you always talk to yourself?...Seriously, though...do you know where the city hall is? My sister's missing and I found this flier..."

Kaj looked at them, they might be his future companions. Bodyguards even, he should not ignore them.

"Excuse me" he started. "I am Dr. Alco Moickrak Kaj, I am here due to the same flyer. And I have gotten the information, that the City Hall is that building" He stated, as he pointed to the somewhat camouflaged building.

(Maximilian :P)

The balance and peace that the silence gave to Maximilian was suddenly shattered by the words carried by the wind. A question made openly to anyone willing to answer it. Whether or not the question was made for Maximilian he felt drawn, to answer the question. Maximilian turned around to identify the source of that voice.

"Do you always talk to yourself?...Seriously, though...do you know where the city hall is? My sister's missing and I found this flier..."

He wondered, if it was of any importance to him the trouble that this woman was having. Nevertheless, the sole action of helping her might unleash a series of events, perfectly orchestrated by Fate. Cold eyes, cold silent eyes were gazing upon this unknown person, then another one appeared Maximilian did not trusted new people, yet he would make an exception this time.

"Whether or not I have reasons to talk to myself are of no importance, still if you wish for aid, then you'll have it...The city hall is located to the north of this fountain, after passing by Aleik's Inn. I can take you there if you wish."

((And Kyros is a guy :P))

The young man glanced at the two, both men who were offering this teen directions and an escort. Well, that was nice of them...despite the fact that all this made Kyros feel a little kid who's looking for his mother instead of a teenager who's looking for his sister, though.

"Well," he began, looking towards the one claiming to be a doctor of sorts, "If we're both headed that way, we might as well head over. Would you care to join us as well?" Kyros asked the rather cold figure. "I could use all the help I can get."

"Well, If we're boh headed that way, we might as well head over. Would you care to join us as well? could use all the help I can get."

This was music in Dr. Kaj's ears. He had gotten some teammates, of sorts, faster then expected.
This kid, there seemed to be more to him then meets the eye. He seemed confident enough to ask for help. In all logical means, this boy, knew his limits.

"Id be glad to" Kaj answered, while giving a single nod. Wondering what lied ahead, ans what the boy was capable of.
Not this alone. This man, the one with elf blood in him. he seemed, strong, but distant.
"So, who are you" Kaj asked, in a way to break brick wall that stood between them, and perhaps making it less unpleasant to be together.
