The Anglia Region
mapo.png

Overview
The Anglia Region is a large continent situated to the West of the main continent of Pokearth. It is privy to a great deal of miserable weather, although is home to almost every species of known Pokemon.

Locations
The numbers correspond to the numbers on the map.

1. Amber Town – A small, barely noticeable town, occupied by simple farmer folk. With the exception of the Pokémon Laboratory, where new trainers go to acquire their starter Pokémon, there is nothing worthy of note there…which is why they rarely get any visitors there.
Notable landmarks: Pokémon Laboratory

2. Portside City – The first major city trainers will encounter on their journey, Portside City is refreshingly quaint, and quite popular with tourists. Many of the houses are quite run-down and have fallen into disrepair due to their proximity to the sea, which has eroded a small portion of the earlier parts of the city as the years have gone by, and the shipyard has long since been abandoned. However, trainers will find the first Pokémon Gym here, and with it, their first step towards competing in the Pokémon League.
Notable landmarks: Old shipyard, Pokémon Centre, Pokemart, 1st Gym

3. Carmine City – The largest city in the Anglia region, Carmine City is a thriving metropolis, with an extensive department store, office blocks for every kind of industry, and, most importantly, the 2nd Pokémon Gym. Team Sol also has their headquarters here, although this is not knowledge that many are privy to…
Notable landmarks: Carmine Department Store, Pokémon Centre, 2nd Pokémon Gym, Team Sol headquarters, Carmine Gardens

4. Carmine Gardens – An expansive national park, where trainers go to participate in bug-catching competitions and search for rare Pokémon. Carmine Gardens’ grounds are not kept outside of a picnic area, meaning the grasses are long and wild, ideal for Pokémon. There is also a large pond in the centre that is rumoured to be a breeding ground for Dratini…

5. Ermine Town – A medium-sized city that is constantly buffeted by storms and prevailing coastal winds. It seems almost to possess it’s own personal thundercloud, which almost constantly hangs over it. Even in the midst of summer, actually seeing the Sun here for longer than a day is highly unlikely. It is, however, a necessary stop for trainers seeking to enter the Pokémon League, for it is home to the 3rd Pokémon Gym.
Notable landmarks: Pokémon Centre, Pokemart, 3rd Gym

6. Safari Zone – A protected reserve where, for a small fee, Pokémon Trainers are allowed to enter to catch Pokémon not found anywhere else in the region. The Safari Zone is a mixture of marshland, almost impassable thistle bushes, and an open prairie.

7. Azarin Caves – A mysterious cave which leads to a beautiful waterfall , the Azarin Caves require various HMs to pass through successfully, which is why many trainers opt to take the long way around, back through Carmine City. Indeed, for starter trainers, there is no choice. Those who return to Azarin Caves with a Pokémon that knows how to cross the waterfall will be rewarded, for many rare and unusual Pokémon dwell within the cave’s depths…

8. Byzantium City – A city built around ancient ruins, Byzantium City is very popular with tourists, particularly for it’s museums. Pokémon trainers with fossils will find the necessary tools to revive them here, and there is a vast library in this city which contains a great deal of ancient lore. It is also home to the Byzantium Gym, the 4th Pokémon Gym. On the outskirts of town, trainers will also find a Daycare Centre, where they may leave their Pokémon to be trained or bred.
Notable landmarks: Library, hot springs, Pokémon Centre, Pokemart, 4th Pokémon Gym, Daycare Centre

9. Bleu Forest – A large, somewhat intimidating forest that trainers are required to pass through, should they wish to earn their fifth Gym Badge. Bleu Forest is crawling with Bug Pokémon, and at night there is a large number of Ghost Pokémon, all of who are eager to scare travellers…

10. Bleu City – Bleu City is the very definition of the word “quaint”. Roads are still cobbled, houses have thatched roves, technology is at it’s absolute minimum, and they even have a town crier. Bleu City is very much the city that the rest of the world has forgotten about. However, it is important enough to warrant its own Pokémon Gym which, alas, is as old-fashioned as all the other houses in the area are.
Notable landmarks: Pokémon Centre, 5th Pokémon Gym

11. Ceil Caves – An extensive network of caves that run under Bleu City, Ceil Caves are said to eventually lead out to the sea, although many of the lower passages are too dangerous to explore, and have been blocked off as a result. The upper levels of the cave are occupied almost exclusively by Zubat, although the lower levels house more interesting Pokémon species. Although nobody has yet been able to confirm it, there are rumours that an ancient Pokémon sleeps at the very bottom of the cave and, if one listens hard enough, they can hear it’s deep, steady breathing…

12. Tundaria Tower – An old, forgotten relic of the past, Tundaria Tower is comprised of four levels. The first floor is reserved almost exclusively for ghost Pokémon, although one might find the odd Ditto roaming amongst them. The second level is reserved for Psychic-type Pokémon, although the Abra will teleport away the second they see you, the Drozee aren’t interested in anything but sleeping, and everything else is extremely good at hiding. The third level is home to various Dark-type Pokémon, which are all extremely aggressive. It is said that Ho-Oh once made it’s nest at the top of the tower, however, this was several centuries ago, and there is little left of the tower’s fourth level…

13. Amaranth Town – Another seaside town, Amaranth Town was originally a trading post, serving as the primary means of communication with the northern towns, as the route leading up to them is almost always covered by a sandstorm, and many could not make the journey. Amaranth Town still serves as the primary method of getting up north, and ferries leave twice daily. Amaranth Town is also home to the 6th Pokémon Gym.
Notable landmarks: Pokémon Centre, Pokemart, Ferry Port, 6th Pokémon Gym.

14. Thulian City
Thulian City is a relatively calm and unremarkable place. Because of it’s position on the coast and behind the mountain, it rarely experiences any bad weather, and is quite a popular place for businessmen who are on vacation. Thulian City is also home to the 7th Pokémon Gym.
Notable landmarks: Pokémon Centre, Pokemart, 7th Gym

15. Magnolia City
The final stop for trainers before they move on to Victory Road, Magnolia City is a mining town, due to the natural quarries that are situated along Route 13. There is a small laboratory here dedicated to the study of fossils that are excavated in the quarry, although it has fallen into a state of disrepair. Magnolia City is also home to the 8th and final Pokémon Gym.
Notable landmarks: Pokémon Centre, Pokemart, Fossil Laboratory, 8th
Pokémon Gym

16. Victory Road
The trial awaiting all trainers who have earned their 8 Gym Badges, Victory Road is a labyrinth, filled with obstacles, dead-ends, lost trainers seeking the way out or to become stronger, and, of course, high-level Pokémon.

17. Isabelline Plateau
On the other side of Victory Road awaits the Isabelline Plateau, the site of the Pokémon League Championship. Only trainers who have earned all 8 Gym Badges of the Anglia Region may participate in the competition and, of those, only one can win. That one will then be able to challenge the Elite Four and, if they successfully defeat them, the Champion, for a chance to put their name down in history as the greatest Pokémon trainer of the region. Of course, nobody said it was going to be easy…

18. Mount Batten
The highest mountain in the Anglia Region, Mount Batten has a total of six upper levels and four lower levels, with the Pokémon becoming increasingly stronger the higher up and further down that you go. The lower levels are pitch black and are home to Dark, Ghost, Rock, Steel and Ground-type Pokémon that are extremely powerful (many in their final stage of evolution) whilst the upper levels are home to Ice, Dragon and Fighting types…and, of course, every level is swarming with Zubat, Dunsparce and Geodude. It is rumoured that Ho-Oh now makes its nest on the mountain’s peak, which rises high above the clouds, although many have seen a Pokémon that looks more like Articuno vanishing into the clouds above the mountain. Only trainers who have earned all 8 Gym Badges and have every HM in their possession can scale Mount Batten, and what lies beyond it…and even then, many find it too much of a challenge.

19. Cerise City
A large city on the other side of the mountains, Cerise City is rarely visited by outsiders, not only because it is extremely difficult to get to – after scaling Mount Batten, travellers then have to cross seas crawling with whirlpools – but because there isn’t anything there. Cerise City has built-up over the years to sustain an ever-growing population, and there is a stark contrast between the first houses that were built there and the newer, more high-tech houses that have been built recently.
Notable landmarks: None

20. Mistheld Loch
So named for the mist that is a constant presence over the water’s surface, obscuring all vision beyond a few feet, Mistheld Loch is rarely visited by trainers, although it is home to some of the rarest Pokémon in the Anglia Region. The Legendary Dog Suicune is known to patrol the banks of the loch, ever vigilant against malicious intruders, and a strange dragon has been seen in the winter months from time to time, freezing the entire loch over with a single touch…

The Anglia Pokedex
The Anglia region uses the National Pokedex, Black and White version. Click here to see the Pokedex we will be using for the RP.

Rare Pokemon
The following Pokemon are classified as extremely rare, and as such, you will only be allowed a maximum of two of them on your team. This list includes their evolved forms: Scyther, Pinsir, Lapras, Ditto, Eevee, Omanyte, Kabuto, Aerodactyl, Dratini, Tyrogue, Larvitar, Trapinch, Lileep, Anorith, Feebas, Bagon, Beldum, Cranidos, Shieldon, Happiny, Gible, Riolu, Rotom, Tirtouga, Archen, Zorua, Axew, Druddigon and Deino. More Pokemon may be added to this list in the future.

The following Pokemon will not be in this RP for the moment, so you will not be able to have them on your team at all. This may change.
Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Celebi, Regirock, Regice, Registeel, Latias, Latios, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys, Regigigas, Heatran, Cresselia, Darkrai, Azelf, Mesprit, Uxie, Phione, Manaphy, Shaymin, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Arceus, Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion, Tornadus, Thundurus, Reshiram, Zekrom, Landorus, Kyurem, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Wynaut, Wobbuffet, Shedinja.

Event Pokemon
The following Pokemon are event Pokemon, which are important to the plot of the story: Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Ho-Oh.

Trainer Pokemon mechanics
Trainer's Pokemon will level-up, as they would in the game, and will learn the moves they would learn in the game according to the Black/White National Pokedex. However, unlike in the game, Pokemon will not need to forget moves in order to learn new ones. So for example, if you have a Steelix at level 65, that Steelix will know all the moves it could learn up to that point.

General RP guidelines

Tags
Please add tags at the end of each of your posts, detailing who is in your scenario and where you are. This is to prevent people from becoming confused and accidently replying to your posts when they aren't actually present.

So, for example, at the end of one of my posts, I may put [Rose & Nida - Mistheld Loch]. Please, do this for ALL of your posts.

Catching Pokemon

When you catch a Pokemon in the RP, you are required to write the following at the end of your RP post in a note:

Pokemon species:
Gender:
Ability:
Level:

This is so that we can keep track of what Pokemon you have. It is advised you keep a Word document with a list of all the Pokemon you catch in the RP. WILD POKEMON WILL NOT HAVE ANY MOVES THEY MAY OTHERWISE LEARN THROUGH TMS/HMS, ETC.

Route limits

You may catch five Pokemon per route. After this, you MUST visit a town. Even if you do not specifically state that you stock up, it will be implied that you do. This is to stop people from depopulating routes.

Team Sol
sologo.png

An underground organization that few know of, Team Sol are led only by a mysterious man known as Lord Invictus, and have but a single goal: the capture of the Legendary Dogs which roam the land, and the return of the Rainbow Pokémon, Ho-Oh, to the world. Precisely why they desire this, when it would mean their own destruction if the legend is true, is unclear. Team Sol uniforms are black in colour, and each has the logo stitched upon the right arm. Commander uniforms have the logo upon the chest. There are three known Team Sol Commanders, although no sign has been seen of Lord Invictus.

The Elite Four and the Champion
The strongest trainers in the land, the Elite Four and the Champion are considered Pokemon Masters. Their teams consist of extremely powerful, high-level Pokemon. Defeating them proves to be impossible for most trainers, and few earn the right to challenge them for a position in the Hall of Fame. However, the Elite Four wander the land and are seen often, and will often engage in unofficial battles as part of their training. The Champion remains a mystery, having only been seen once: at the time that he became Champion.

Gym Leaders
Masters of a specific type of Pokemon, Gym Leaders reside in towns across the Anglia Region, awaiting challenges from aspiring trainers. Defeating a Gym Leader earns the victor a Gym Badge, a TM containing a powerful move, and one step closer to fulfilling their dream of competing in the Pokemon League. Gym Leaders also travel the lands although they, unlike the Elite Four, are much more constrained in their movements, ready to accept any challenges.
