BEGINNER'S STORY

You wake up one morning and look out the open window from your bed: the morning air of Pallet Town is as refreshing as ever. You hear the television... it is an announcement concerning pokemon, trainers, badges, and glory...

"Attention, attention all trainers; rookies, novices, and pro pokemon trainers,

This is your once-in-a-life-time opportunity to participate in our first All-Pokemon League! An All or Nothing Tournament, which will take place on Cairhien Island one year from today and is sponsored by our top pokemon league officials!

Prepare for the ultimate pokemon battles; trainers from all regions are being called to this event - trainers worthy of entrance. All or Nothing requires a minimum of 10 regional badges; this means that trainers must show they have at least a small collection of official pokemon league badges from two or more regions!

So, get ready! Badges or not, you have ONE year to prepare for the ultimate tournament. Trainers from all four regions will be descending upon Cairhien Island, located in the ocean between the four regions. And let's not forget the prizes, which will remain anonymous but are guaranteed to be totally worth it!

Remember! October 2nd is the day the human race will remember All or Nothing was celebrated!"

The comercial ends, and an advertisement for Pokemon acne treatment comes up...

Having no pokemon of your own, you immediately get dresses, skip breakfast, and run to the nearest pokemon expert, Professor Oak, in hopes of begging him to give you your first pokemon. When you enter his laboratory you see a couple of other trainers stationed around, perhaps to also recieve their first pokemon...

"Well, I'd be delighted to give you your first starter pokemon, especially today. You see, while doing research I managed to get my hands on 13 starter pokemon! NOW! Which one will you choose?"

The professor, standing old with his cane, then proceeds to point you at a device about four feet tall, containing thirteen slots filled with thirteen pokeballs.

"Bulbasaur, Chikorita, Treecko or Turtwig? Grass type pokemon...

Charmander, Cindaquill, Torchic or Chimchar? Fire type pokemon...

Squirtle, Totodile, Mudkip or Piplup? Water type pokemon ....

or the exclusive Eevee?"

"Which will you choose?"

EXPERIENCED TRAINER'S STORY

One morning whilst walking out and about in the tall grass with your favourite pokemon by your side you begin to surf the radio waves on your Poketch/Pokenav/Radio and hear an exciting announcement...

"Attention, attention all trainers; rookies, novices, and pro pokemon trainers,

The commercial ends, and an advertisement for Pokemon acne treatment comes up...

Excited by this totally awesome news you immediately check your badges case for the amount you have. Finding yourself a few short you decide that now would be the time to win them!

You immediately return to your nearest pokemon centre and check over your team. Deciding that some further training is in order for the ultimate tournament, you decide that now will be the perfect time to train your team, after all, only the very best will be at All or Nothing...

Evan was training in some tall grass listening to his radio when he heard the announcement of the 'All or Nothing' tournament and the '10 badge minimum' entry he reached into his bag and pulled out a little box it contained 3 gym badges, "I have been working so hard on getting my pokemon good over the past year that i have forgotten to collect the gym badges he then remembered that he was just outside Celadon City "thats it, Erika, i should be able to beat her grass type Pokemon. he had his Lairon who was currently fighting a Rattata use Iron tail which made the small rat Pokemon faint Evan laughed and returned Lairon to his luxury ball and then ran to the Pokemon center.to have his Pokemon healed.

Hiro stretched to his feet as he heard the announcement and reached his hand into his jacket pocket to feel for his badge case.
Drawing it out, he checked through the compartments, three badges from Sinnoh, three from Hoenn, and now one from Johto.
Not the easiest badges either.
The three he had collected from each region were from the Gym Leaders he felt to be most worthy.
Over time, he had collected only ten pokemon, not counting evolutions, and felt that his team was more than good enough for the next challenge he had for them.
"Come on out guys," he said, opening the five pokeballs he currently had on him to inspect his team.

Coming out into the open were a Froslass (an Ice-Ghost Pokemon), A Yanma, his most recently gained Bug-Flying pokemon, a Gallade (a Psychic-Fighting Pokemon with sword-arms), Aipom, his last Hoenn capture and his starter, his prized Swampert.
"Guys," he said, walking in front of them like a drill instructor then slapping himself on the head and sitting down, "our next job is to take out the Gym Leader of Mahogany Town; Price, an Ice Gym Leader. Now I know this will be tough as Magmortar isn't here right now, but I think we can do it. What do you reckon?"
A chorus of Pokemon cries rang out from behind him as he returned them all to their Pokeballs and set out towards Mahogany Town, a two-day trip from here, and his next Gym Badge.

After visiting the pokemon center Evan walked over to the gym
where he knew he could find Erika. He entered the celladon City Gym and looked about at all of the plants and grass that were filling the entire building "this isn't a gym it's a green house" he said to himself as he saw a young girl looking at him "show me to Erika, your gym leader" he shouted to her "right this way" the girl replied Evan followed the girl and after about 5 minutes of what seemed like forest Hiking the two came to a pokemon battle field there was small amounts of dirt showing through the grass, it must have been the worst looked after section in the entire gym. Evan looked around to see a lady in a green kimono, The young girl walked over to her and whispered in her ear, the lady smiled and walked over to Evan. "so you want to challenge me for one of my badges, two Pokemon in the battle, no time limit" she enformed Evan, Evan smiled and looked at her "i wouldn't have it any other way.

Evan and Erika walked to their side of the field and faced each other when the young girl who had guided Evan there began to speak "this is a 2 Pokemon battle with no time limit. Celladon Cities Erika verses the challenger Evan of pallet town begin"

Hiro's hiking had been partially successful, as Mahogany Town was now withing sight, but the only problem was, he was out of food.
Had he of been thinking ahead, he would have bought some, and he had plenty of money, the main issue was, he had forgot in his excitement.
He had Pokemon food too, but they were eating fine, the food for them was good apparently but he wasn't going to eat that stuff.
Sighing, he pressed on, walking to a ridge overlooking the town and looking down.
"This place," he breathed, looking North towards the Red Lake and back to the town, "has an odd feel."
"Yeah I agree." piped a voice from nowhere, making Hiro jump and spin around.
"Who the he-" he began, cutting off when he saw who had said it.
The girl had long flowing red hair and beautiful green eyes. She was dressed in a Jeans and a T-shirt but she seemed to exude self-confidence.

"Hi, my name is Hilary." she said, extending her hand and walking forward, "and I'm a trainer from Hoenn here for the Johto badges. Did you hear about that big tournament? Well, I only have the eight Hoenn badges so I decided to come here for my other ones so I can participate!"
"Me too," Hiro said warily, "but I'm from Sinnoh and I collect Badges from all over. I got three from Sinnoh and Hoenn, the hardest three from Hoenn; Winona, Liza and Tate and Wallace. Same for Sinnoh; Byron, Candice and Volkner. So far I only beat Jasmine from here."
"Huh, you're doing better than me, I haven't beaten any of them. But..."
She broke off and looked Hiro up and down, "how about a one-on-one Pokemon battle before you head down to Mahogany Town? You and me right now!"
"Why the hell not?!" Hiro exclaimed, walking back then spinning and drawing a pokeball.
"Ready?" he called as Hilary drew a Pokeball too.
"Ready!" she said and let loose her Pokeball at the same time Hiro did.

"Go, Arcanine!" Hilary called as a large red dog burst out and howled.
"Gallade, go!" Hiro called, and Gallade emerged, its blade-arms glistening.
"Start Gallade, Swords Dance!" Hiro called and Gallade began to move strangely, its arms glowing now.
"Arcanine, Flamethrower!" Hilary called and Arcanine let loose a blast of pure fire.
"Dodge," Hiro said calmly as the fire moved closer and closer, "and use Night Slash."
Gallade nodded and dodged, jumping to the right and running straight at Arcanine, its Arms glowing black now.
"Arcanine, Fire Spin!" Hilary called desperately, but just as Arcanine powered up the flames, Gallade struck, his blade-arm slicing across Arcanine's chest and sending the Fire Dog backwards.
"Finish him," Hiro called, "Close Combat!"
Gallade's arms stopped glowing as it moved closer and began to pummel Arcanine with his fists and feet.
"Arcanine!" Hilary called as the dog was beaten down until suddenly, it fainted.

Hiro walked over next to Gallade and patted its shoulder as the blade-arm pokemon bowed to the now-returning Arcanine.
"Come on Hilary," Hiro said, "why don't you come down to Mahogany Town with me and get Arcanine fixed up."
"Sure," she said, nodding fiercely, "then next time, I'll beat you!"
"Sure, Red." Hiro chuckled as he returned Gallade and began to stroll down the path next to Hilary, whistling softly.

Evan threw a Pokeball into the Air and shouted "do it, Typholsion" a large volcano Pokemon appeared from the ball with a perfect mane of Fire around the back of it's neck, "I choose Gloom" Erika threw her Poke ball into the air and realesed her Weed Pokemon.
Evan smiled and then laughed "Typholsion take down the large pokemon charged t the gloom "evade" erika shouted but it was to late Typhlosion struck her gloom throwing it back 10 feet "Now use flamethrower" Evan shouted and the large Pokemon unleashed a torrent of fire from his mouth, it hit Gloom causing it to faint. "wow your strong" Erika announced Evan returned Typhlosion to his ball.

"next up, go Charmeleon" he called as he realesed his second Pokemon "Bellossom" Erika shouted "charmeleon start off with Sunny day" charmeleon caused the sun to begin shining brightly and Erika Smiled as her bellossom began running faster "because of your sunny day my bellossom gains speed because of her chlorophyll she gains speed" Evan smiled "yes but my fire moves are also increased, Charmeleon Fire spin" Evan's charmeleon then began a large spinning vortex of fire around where bellossom was stood and then the Flower Pokemon let out a load screech as it fainted "this fight is over" announced Evan and Erika began smiling "you are a good trainer Evan, take this" Erika handed Evan a badge "I'm sure you will need it for the tournament that is comming up, well that is in a year" Evan smiled as he took the badge from her "well thank you, you might want to take your Pokemon to the center" Evan left the flowery building and headed for the pokemon center

Mahogany Town, Hiro had decided, was strange.
As he and Hilary had entered, they had been greeted by a group of people selling what seemed to be nice dolls or some such, Hiro wasn't too sure.
Then, Hilary had bolted to the Pokemart, yelling something about meeting up later, and when Hiro had gone to the Pokemon Center, he had found people camped out the front, waiting.
"Man," one guy had drawled, "don't perpetuate the prolonged suffering of Pokemon with such unnatural visages. Use natural remedies and your Pokemon will love you!"
The man had held up a herb of some sort and the stench alone was enought to make Hiro gag.
"No thanks," he had choked, walking into the Pokemon Center and breathing deeply, the clean air destroying the bad taste of the herb.

After having his Pokemon healed, Hiro had gone to his PC system and perused his available Pokemon.
"I'll deposit Gallade," he had said to himself, putting the Pokeball on the transporter and sending it into the system, "and withdraw Magmortar and this guy!"
The two Pokeballs that had come out were both different. One was a regular Pokeball, whereas the other was pure white, but with a purple band around the center.
"Pryce has no chance now." Hiro said quietly, leaving the pokemon center and walking to the Gym.
"Hi," he said, cutting off the Gym trainer as he walked in, "My name is Hiro Ikichi, and I'm here to battle Pryce. I want his badge."
"Young trainer," came a voice as an old man with a walking stick walked slowly towards him, "why do you wish to battle Pryce? His Ice Pokemon are the most powerful in Johto?"
"I defeated Candice of Sinnoh with no problems," Hiro insisted, "so I believe I can defeat you, Pryce."
The old man looked taken aback but nodded, walking to the other side of a large Ice Arena and taking up his position.
"Then our three-on-three match shall begin straight away. I trust, young trainer, you are ready?"
"Certainly," Hiro said, smiling and taking up position, "I'll take you down..."

OOC: Not sure as per the double-posting rules here, but its my RP and everyone else has died *Death stares Kira Yamato and the others who showed interest* So I'm going to continue...

"This Gym Match is about to begin," the referee said as Hiro and Pryce took up positions on the Ice Field, "it will be a three-on-three Pokemon Battle. If the challenger, Hiro Ikichi from Fortree City in the Hoenn Region wins, the Gym Leader, Pryce of Mahogany Town shall grant him the Glacier Badge. This Gym Battle will begin! Now!"
"Let us begin then Hiro," Pryce said calmly, pulling out a Pokeball, "and see how you battle Ice! Go! Walrein!"
Pryce's Walrein was huge, a prime specimen of the Ice/Water hybrid, bristling with white fur and with huge teeth, it was a daunting sight.
"Fine," Hiro said calmly, reaching to his belt and pulling out a pokeball, "Froslass, its on you!"
The Pokeball flew out and a funny looking white-thing, all bashful and shy looking came out.
"Walrein, Body Slam!" Pryce called, and the great Walrein bounced forward and jumped. As it came down, the spectating Gym Trainers all shared glances, Froslass was as good as gone already.
"Froslass, walk out of the way," Hiro said casually, and Froslass walked slowly to the side as Walrein descended.
"Nice try Hiro," Pryce said as Walrein crashed to the ground with a mighty blast of ice, "but Froslass is-"
"Froslass Thunderbolt!" Hiro called and their was a burst of electricity and Walrein screamed.
"Walrein, what the hell?" Pryce cried as Froslass came casually walking out of the rubble, a dazed Walrein getting to its feet.
"Again Froslass," Hiro said calmly, and Froslass glowed and then blasted Walrein again with Thunderbolt.

"Finish it," Hiro called, grinning, "Shadow Ball!"
Froslass jumped into the air and summoned a giant ball of glowing blacknes. Firing it at Walrein, it connected with another explosion and, when the smoke cleared, Froslass stood, all contrite again, on top of the knocked out Walrein.
"Walrein is unable to battle," the referee called, "Hiro and Froslass are the winners!"
"Walrein," Pryce said as he returned the Walrein to its Pokeball, "you did well. As did you Hiro, but tell me one thing, why did Body Slam do nothing to Froslass?"
"Froslass is part Ghost type." Hiro said as Pryce drew out a Pokeball, "the alternate evolution of Snorunt."
"How ironic," Pryce said, using the word incorrectly, "for I have; Glalie!"
Glalie, glowing with icy power, burst out of Pryce's Pokeball and laughed.
"Let's go." Hiro said, an intense look coming into his eyes.

OoC: Going from beginners story (Y)

IC:

"Which will you choose?"

Zeke stared long and hard at each of the Pokemon. Each of them looked so eager to help him out and join the team. Each had their own strengths but at the same time, each of them had their weaknesses as well.

Brushing a strand of jet black hair out of his eyes he turned to Oak.

"Which one would you choose Doc?"

"Thats PROFESSOR." Professor Oak gumbled. "Well Zeke, it's all down to you. They all are fit and healthy, so it's really up to what you think would make a fine Pokemon to be by your side. Grass is effective against Water and Rock Pokemon but weak against Fire and Flying Pokemon, Water is effective against Fire and Rock Pokemon but weak against Electric and Grass Pokemon and Fire Pokemon are effective against Grass Pokemon but weak against Rock and Water Pokemon."

Zeke lifted his hand to his chine and thought long and hard.

"Well the first Gym boss uses Rock Pokemon, so I guess Water and Grass would be good, but what about the other gyms? Theres a Grass, an Electric AND a Fire one, so it really makes no difference in the long run. What to do, what to do?"

Zeke suddenly had an idea. He grabbed a Poke Ball from his backpack and held it in his hand.

"Alright D, let's do this!"

Pressing the button, te top half of the ball clicked open, and a shot of red light came out and formed into a shape on the ground next to him. The light faded and standing it is place was the Pokemon named Drowzee. Quite a slow Pokemon at first, but Zeke certaintly had high hopes for him after what they had been through.

"Alright D, which one of these guys should I pick? You know I'm no good at picking you new friends." he added with a smirk after the Pidgeottot incident.

The Drowzee stared blankly at the group and examined each of themwith the same monotonous expression. He suddenly stopped in front of the Charmander.

"Drow. Drowzee Drow, Zee Drowzee."
"Char char! Mander Charmander!"

The Pokemon both seemed to smile. D turned round to Zeke and started pointing at the Charmander feverishly.

"I think we have a winner!" laughed Zeke. "Alright. Charmander, I choose YOU!" he yelled. When he was a little boy, the Legendary Trainer Ash used to say that about every Pokemon all the time, so it had rubbed off on him a little.

Oak laughed as he returned the Charmander to it's Pokeball and handed it to Zeke.

"Now remember Zeke.."
" 'Having a Pokemon is a big responsibility so treat it with the respect it deserves!" finished Zeke in his best Oak voice.

"Hmph! Well then, you'll be needing this!" Pulling out from his jacket, he handed him a red object with a camera lense on the back.

"Doc, I already have a phone. Thanks though!"
"PROFESSOR!" shouted Oak angrily "and it's not a phone. This is the latest version of the Pokedex. You'll be needing it on your adventure. Now get out of my lab before I turn you into Pokechow!"

"Right!" Zeke said, taking the Pokedex.
"Thanks, I'll be needing that." Turning on his heel, he stopped and cocked his head slightly. "Next time you see me, I'll be the Champion of the League. Laters DOC!" he shouted happily and ran his way out of the lab.

"IT'S PROFESSOR!"

The smoke began to clear after the blast and both Hiro and Pryce peered into the smoke anxiously, to see if either Glalie or Froslass were OK.
Hiro thought back, weighing Froslass' chances as he remembered that battle.

"Froslass," Hiro cried,
"Glalie," Pryce called,

"ICE BEAM!" Both yelled and the two Ice Pokemon blasted each other.
Froslass recovered first, and a Shadow Ball flew at the recovering Glalie, who amazingly dodged it then began to glow red.
"Flame Wheel!" Pryce called triumphantly, and Glalie began to roar flames, and charged.

"Froslass, Water Pulse!"
And the fire had been extinguished and Glalie had been knocked back by the powerful Water Attack.
"Foresight Glalie!"
Glalie's eyes glowed and Froslass became... solid...

"And now, GIGA IMPACT!"
Glalie's body glowed a bright white, and again it charged, as Froslass waited patiently.
"Froslass, Pro-" Hiro's call had been drowned out as Glalie had connected with Froslass and Hiro prayed that his pokemon knew what he was calling.

The smoke cleared, and it seemed that Froslass and Glalie were out, until Froslass stood up, its Protect move fading. Then it faced Glalie and laughed softly as its fellow Ice Pokemon tried to recover from Giga Impact.
"Froslass," Hiro called in relief, "Psybeam."
And Glalie was knocked out as a Purple Beam smashed it to the ground.
"Glalie is unable to battle," the ref said, "Froslass is the winner!"
Pryce returned Glalie, nodding to himself, then drew his third Pokeball.
"Now," he announced, "I start trying!"
And he threw the pokeball.
"Mamoswine, your up!" he called, and a large tusked thing came out and snorted.
"Froslass, return," Hiro said, withdrawing Froslass and drawing a 2nd pokeball, "Guess out comes..."
Throwing out the pokeball, it opened tumultously, and out came... red Absol!
"Begin!" The ref announced as the two pokemon faced off, glaring at each other.
