Inspired by the Zidane and Tidus pronounciation here is usually one thing that confuses me in a Final Fantasy game (Until recent entries) is how would most people pronounce some of those FF characters names. Here are some that I have been confused with and how I pronounce them.
Cecil - Se-seel (I've heard his name pronounced like 'Ces-ill' in the History of Final Fantasy.)
Rydia - Rid-ia (I have a feeling that this pronounciation is wrong and it is Rye-dia.)
Celes - Sel-ees (My brother pronounces it without a silent 'C' which if he says it fast it almost sounds like 'Cleese' as in John Cleese. )
Irvine - Ur-vin (I have heard his name pronounced like 'Ur-vine' but I say 'Ur-vin' since I have heard the name in general [Not related to FF] pronounced like that. Also there is a town outside Glasgow called Irvine which is pronounced 'Ur-vin'.
Zidane - Zi-dan (As I have posted in the thread, since I already knew about Zinedine Zidane by the time the game came out, that was the first thing that came to my head when I played FFIX. I began to hear people say 'Zi-dane' so I did look more into his Japanese name which is 'Jitan', I think that the 'Zi-dan' pronounciation fits closely so I stick with it.)
Tidus - Tid-us (I think we all know the pronounciation of this one but I hate both 'Teed-us' and 'Tye-dus' so I still resort to calling him 'Tid-us'.
