Pruning the SB...

Since the moderators have recently gained the ability to have moderation privileges in the shoutbox, it's been pruned a lot, which is very annoying. I think that there should be a set time to prune it like, every two or three days. It's often pruned after about 1000 shouts are put into it, which is somewhat ridiculous.

I myself was personally looking for something in the SB this morning but couldn't find it because it had been pruned.

Everytime I post in it for a bit and come back, it's almost always pruned. I think that it has probably been pruned at least three or five times today. I know that having these permissions is fun, but once you're in a giant forum like this, it's stepping on toes to use it them often.

Edit: It was just pruned once again a small bit ago.

Why not pickle it?
And yeah pruning it multiple times a day is a little too much.
I think once a day should be enough.

Prune at ~3,000 - 5,000.

Pruning just to prune is quite annoying like Derek mentioned. You can click on the Shoutbox link to see how many posts have been made since last prune, so check out the number and do it that way; that's how I've been doing it.
