I recently got offered to trade my psp for a working xbox.360 with no strings attached. I know it works as I have seen it work before, but it doesnt have any games/controllers. thats the only problem, no big deal.

My concern here is that if I get rid of my psp, He also wants all my games, so I cant get a new one and just play my games. This means I will forever lose my Dissidia Final Fantasy game and also never be able to play Final Fantasy Tactics again, along with a few more games, I didnt have very many, but those are the only two I would miss. Is it really worth this trade? I will have the 360 with no games even...

I'd tell him to trade in a few games and a controller. Getting offered to trade in a PSP and all your games for a 360 with no games or a controller is like trading in a Ford Mustang in for a rust bucket... With no wheels.

He has no controller anymore is the thing, or he would give them to me, but i can buy a new one for cheap ya know. I only need 2 really, and one in reality because I live in the middle of nowhere and all my friends have a 360

and for the record, I would fix that rust bucket, a little welding and repair never hurt me :ryan:

Personally I would just say no and just buy a new console and keep your PSP considering that you still have to spend some money in order to actually play it anyway, you may as well just go out and buy a new one and a game or two. The cheapest model is 200$ so it is not too bad if you have a source of income and you can always buy a hard drive later if you want.

i''d ask him how old the 360 is,
for all you know he might want to trade since its not under the 3 year warrenty and hes scared it might RRoD.

Good call. :ryan:

Also, I agree that you should just go ahead and invest in a new console, considering prices. A brand new 360 controller is $40 (that's the cheap ones), and if you need two thats $80. Not even including games. IMO, I'd keep the PSP and invest in a console that comes with the controller and borrow a game from another friend untill you get your own ;)

If you already own a PS3 (not sure whether you do or not) i suggest not trading.. if you don't i still wouldnt recommend doing it unless you can get him to throw in a bit of cash to go along with that deal. With the price of all the things you need put together its going to cost you as much as a brand new xbox 360. I would personally keep the PSP seeing as you would have nothing to play. Plus i wouldn't trade for a Xbox if i didnt have any playstation system to play old ps games on. I have a ps2 still just so i can play my final fantasy's on. :)

Don't do it. You can get a 360 on ebay for under $180 I got my psp 3000 on ebay for $90 and it works. Would never trade it for a 360

This doesn't sound like the greatest deal I've ever heard of. If you've got a GameStop or something around, you could probably trade in your PSP and games for a 360 with a controller, and depending on your games, maybe even a game.

Either way, it's sounding like your friend is getting more out of this than you are. I wouldn't do it, if I were you. Like everyone else has been saying, if it's realistic for you, just save up and get your own console.

If I remember correctly, I bought my 360 used from a GameStop and it's been doing me fine for two years. Hasn't RRoD'd or anything on me once.

I would just keep your PSP and get a 360 when the price drops again. That way you still have your PSP, a brand new xbox 360 and the stuff you want for it.

I wouldn't if I was you.

You're not there 100% of the time to see if it does have a few problems.

And just by you saying that it doesn't have a controller just says to me that he didn't take that good care of it.

I just prefer to have new consoles as they are expensive and you don't want to be taking on other peoples problems.

I'd say that if you went through with it that he would be getting the better end of the deal. =/

I'd say keep the PSP and all your games as it sounds like you're quite fond of them and you could easily pick up a cheap Xbox these days. They've come way down in price. I remember Steve bought his when they first came out for $800 and we've seen them new for around the $200 mark lately.

Alright this is solved then. I will not trade my PSP for an XBox.360. you guys have good points, I didnt think that much about it and you guys are right about the price managing. And for the record, I only have my psp now, gave ps2 to my sister, I got tired of beating all the games...

Don't do it. You'd be absolutely crazy to. If that thing doesn't have the three year warranty and it fucks up on you, you're screwed. Not to mention he wants all of your games for your PSP and yet he's giving you an XBox that might be messed up or doesn't have a warranty and could mess up. Also, it has no controllers, no games and you'd have to spend money for all that. I wouldn't do it. Not at all. Honestly think about this. If that XBox screws up and you can't replace it, you're out both an XBox and a PSP.

Dont do it. Something is odd about this. The 360 may be faulty or something. Keep the PSP and get a 360 when the prices go down. I wouldnt part with my PSP for anything, love it too much.

I'd have gone for it. I own both a PSP and an XBox, and the XBox would always win hands down. I'm yet to get a game for my PSP that I really enjoy other than Lemmings, and I think that says a lot for the quality of games for the PSP.

Yeah, but he'd be getting a used console for one, he wouldn't know if it were any good or not. He's not going to get any games for it. It has no controller, so he'd have to spend extra money just to be able to play the thing. Be realistic here. If he were to give away his PSP with all of his games for just a console that's pretty much useless until he can get himself games for it AND a controller and then it screws up on him after owning it for a little while, then what? He's out money from spending it on games and a controller and if the thing has no warranty, it's not like he can go and exchange it. It'd be a stupid decision to trade them out.

Don't do it. If you want an Xbox it's advisable to save and buy your own, especially with the number of issues Xboxes have been known to have (I've been through 4 myself now). If it's a console you're after instead of *specifically* an Xbox save your cash and get yourself a PS3 slim. I have had both in the house for a while and there have always been less problems with the PS3, and if you have had a PS2 and PSP I can guess you don't mind the Sony consoles or game types.

Also it is a Blu-Ray player alongside being a console, which means that if you do ever decide to get somethign along these lines in the future you've saved yourself several hundred $$$. I know over here in England the PS3 is still almost the same price as a Blu-Ray player by itself...

But he'd still be getting a good console that might break, in exchange for a crap one that might break. It's a risk worth taking I'd say.

i concur :elmo:

id just go ahead and trade your psfail for the xbox and tell the guy you traded that you will track him down and rape him if there's anything wrong with the Xbox. :monster:

also, if you dont have an Xbox 360 controller tell him to provide a controller or gtfo

even a psfail is better than an xbox with no controller :wacky:
