Quistis my Love

She's sexy, She's smart, she's my least favorite character in the game. I'm sorry but I find her to be my least favorite character in the game, mostly because of her limitbreak, her geekines, and the crap she says in convos.

I know that I can't have been the only one to feel this way. Quistis is great I'm sure to some people but to me, in this game specifically, she was useless. I never used her or battled with her. I rarely leveled up her character and most of the time, just let her die so she wouldn't annoy me in battle.

Has anyone else felt my pain?

If you actually, you know, made Quistis learn more limit breaks she'd be awesome. Degenerator is, perhaps, the best limit break in the game.

Geekiness? She's a teacher Also, since when do glasses = Geek? Selphie and Irvine were more geeky than Quistis.

Are you serious...? For one, Quistis is a Blue Mage, so you actually have to attempt to learn more of her limit breaks. They don't just appear out of nowhere. It something you have to work for in the game. Geekiness? Quistis was a garden instructor. That hardly makes her a geek. She's just an intelligent woman. If anybody was a geek it was Selphie and Irvine, as Mark said. Quistis was one of the more tranquil ones. Wearing Glass doesn't equal being a geek, just for the record.

Degenerator kills most, if not all, enemies instantly. What can be more impressive than that?

I found Quistis to have way more sex appeal than Selphie. Selphie's an annoying brat, while Quistis has the whole "hot teacher/librarian" look going on. Plus, she fights with a whip. Seriously xD

As for "always being an instructor" well, um, that WAS her job, and even after she got fired, the people in her group were still her former students O_O so I wasn't surprised she kept that attitude.

I found Quistis to be one of the more believable characters in the game, she showed both vulnerability and strength. She was more interesting than Selphie, Irvine, Zell and even Rinoa to a certain extent...

Quistis had a very sexy thing going for her. When she was angry, she looked extremely sexy. I junctioned Eden to her and she dealt 30000 damage a turn with her long summon attack. She was the prettiest girl in the game if I must say.

basically it's a case of "Everybody hate's Blue Mage" Disorder, I know becuase I know a lot of people hate Blue Mages, (ie. FF8's Quistis, FF10's Khimari, FF10-2's Gun Mage class et.al.)

Personally, Quistis is my favorate FF8 character (with Irvine and Laguna tied at a close second), she's pretty, she know's Blue Magic, and she has a whip. What's not to like?

We'll you're a woman and that's a typical answer which I'd expect, but Selphie is innocent and lighthearted. She's fun and has the most spirit out of everyone in the game. Alot of guys tend to like that in a woman, including me. Who said a little weird isn't fun.

Quistis on the other hand is bland and while I understand that she's an intelligent woman, she lacks in energy and personality. Simply has nothing unique about her besides her sex toy turned into a weapon.

Selphie is not an "annoying brat". If anything she's what keeps hope alive. I'm not fooled by the cliche "hot teacher" thing. She fights with a friggin sex toy and has a stale attitude throughout the game.

Eww, you like Selphie? She had nothing. She seemed a little too innocent. I have not idea what Irvine saw in her. Quistis's glasses actually add to her appeal to be quite honest. She may be bland, but she can also be very emotional, as when she told Squall how she felt about SeeD and how she was going to get the boot.

Certainly she keeps hope alive, I'm sure. Nobody's trying to actually trash her character. We're all just trying to figure out where this supposed 'sex appeal' you claim she has comes from. I like her for more than just previously being a teacher...I think Quistis is one of those good-hearted, down to earth characters. I don't like her because she used to be a teacher, I like her because she had so much potential but Square shoved her to the side. She's my second or third favorite in the game, and as for her limit break.. I found her fine without it too, I LIKED using her.

Junctioning allows you to have virtually any kind of bulid you want for anyone. And Quistis is very useful. Blue Magic is actually very useful in the FF games that I have played and those who come with it are actually very veratile.

Quistis acts older than her age which is expected seeing as she had alot of smarts, but maturity doesn't appeal to everyone, especially me.

I feel the same way about Selphie in a way. You prob. feel this way about Quistis because maybe you can relate to her? I know for myself that I can relate to Selphie in numerous ways, which makes me love her even more.

We all have certain attatchments to other characters inthe game. I just happened to find Quistis not much of my taste.

As for Selphies sex appeal, she is bubbly and hilarious at times. She has that cutesey and quirky thing about her that makes her attractive. I like the many men of Japan, happen to find those qualities extremely attractive.

I wouldn't say I was "hung up" on the whip. It's just that when I talk to guys who are fffans, most of their perverted minds go straight to the subject of the whip and that's just about it. Sure she has blue magic and you can customize characters, but when you think about it, she's just a smartsy woman with a whip. Quistis reminded you of abusive parents? I certainly disagree with that. Quistis is far from that. She does act rather mature for her age (contrasting completely with Selphie), but she isn't a strict and aggressive person. As a matter of fact, I see that she can be emotional, though she decides to bottle it up inside rather than show it. She's more of a "big sister" sort of person as a result of her maturity.

I understand if maturity doesn't appeal to you, but it does to me. I've always been raised to behave mature and appreciate it. I personally would rather be friends with mature individuals because I feel I can rely on them and feel supportive with them. Fun, lightheartedness and hyper really are not my preferences.

No. Like I said, Quistis is more of a "big sister" than a mother. Quistis at first tends to be someone who mulls over her thoughts and worries alone. When she talks to Squall and the others- it's not really necessary a crush, more of an attempt to be more open and develop closer personal relationships with people around her.

The thing about some Japanese girls is that they tend to act really artificially- to make it look like they are bubbly and hyper when they may not be. Though Selphie may not be artificial in terms of her demeanour, I personally don't see the sex appeal from it. In my opinion, characters such as her (especially Rikku in FFX-2) tend to irritate me.

Agreed. If she got leveled up and the player actually tried using her they'd find out how kick arse she is.

It was actually Quistis who got me into VIII. She instantly became my favorite.

But, I guess I can understand why people disliked her so much. She was kinda bossy and a tad rude at times. But I just see that as her being cool.

Quistis was actually my favorite character in the game and she's one of my favorite FF female characters (behind Beatrix, of course). I liked her personality and she seemed rather down to earth. Someone in the party has to be the mature one anyway. I do wish they'd developed her character a bit more (along with the other supporting characters) but I still loved her anyway. I liked her weapons and limit breaks also. I've always liked Blue Magic and Mark is right. Degenerator = win.
