Rare Equipment

I don't really want this to turn into a help thread, but if it goes that way, I'l move it

How many opf you have got tis rare equipment? About as rare as Ive gone is genji equipment and the Zodiack Sphere. I don't even know where to START on stuff like the Tournesol, ribbon and that zodiack escutcheon thingy amongst others. Ive seen the gay odds on getting a ribbon and Im like ...wot?!

As for getting weapons in the bazaar goods - I don't even know where to START gewtting some of these items. I seem to have not enough of a particular item - or I just don't have said item at all. It's getting really tiring seeing as Im at Bahamut now - I have 3/4 hunts to go and 1 Esper to beat. You think hunts would give me the items I need. But for a lot of the cases - it seems not

So, have people sat there and actually got half this rare shit?

I've got a some of the rare stuff, not quite all of it yet. With the Bazaar goods, if you're not using the guide, then the Beastiary will give you hints after you've defeated the same fiend you need to get all the information, not the case for all of them though.

I've got the Official Strategy Guide, so have the whole Bazaar goods list at arms reach, makes things ALOT easier.

Some of the rare stuff is a bitch to get, a percentage of the chest actually appearing, then a percentage of the item actually being the rare item put together = hair-pulling annoying. Same with items from Rare foes, a small percentage of them appearing + a small percentage of a steal/drop. Argh..

here's my say

you might wanna look online to find what all items you need for those hard to get weapons. I had to and it was way easier. The brandy guide wasn't perfect and people can break it down better in other guides online. As far as the board goes I'm probally mkissing maybe 15 things on it. So I'm doing pretty good. Most need items that need to be sold so they open up in the bazzar.

The Tournesol is a nightmare. Will probably take you 10hrs ish to get. But i didn't get the zodiac sphere so i needed a good weapon to go with the masamume. I think i got the zodiac escutheon (sp?) anyway sheild thingy, good for penolo and ashe.

Tournesol, you best look at a guide, I forget, you need loads of weird stuff like damascus steel. i think it was worth getting though, its good but you need to sacrifice some time!

well hell i sold the zodiac escutheon (did'tn frrl like typing it) lol and i didnt realy care about the rest i just like killing stuff and beating the game

I've hardly gotten any rare equipment.
Only gotten like Genji Armour.
And Yangyu Darkblade for Yiazmat.
I usally just look around for guides, then do what they say.
But I'm not an expert of the topic. >_>

Ah, yeah. FFXII's ultimate equipment can be a nightmare to get. I managed to get everything, but like others have said looking online is your best bet. However there are some things you can do to make getting the Tournesol easier. For starters, you can steal High Arcana from espers. I stole three High Arcana from Adrammalech since he's the easiest. As for Scarletite and Damascus Steel, there are two rare monsters in the Cerobi Steppe with a 40% of appearing that hold this two items as a guaranteed steal of them. The one that holds Scarletite is called Aspidochelon and I don't remember the other one. They are trophy monsters so if you kill them you'll never see them again. But as long as you have the patience to steal, leave the area, and come back, it's a much faster way of getting these two ingredients.
