It has been ten years since the incident at Raccoon City and the President of the United States has decided to reveal the truth behind what took place. Raccoon City survivor and personal friend of the President, Leon S. Kennedy, arrives to find the President transformed beyond recognition by a bioterrorist attack. Leon is forced to make the hardest decision he has ever made. At the same, Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance Member, Chris Redfield arrives in China, itself under threat of a bioterrorist attack. With no country safe from these attacks and the ensuing outbreaks, the entire world's population is united by a common fear that there is no hope left.

I never beat Resident Evil 5, but this looks to be a massive improvement :hmmm: Leon :ohoho:

:kira:
(I know this is a trailer for a game.... but I thought it was a movie for a moment there. :wacky:)

Anyways, this looks SICK!! :ohoho: I played RE5 and this looks even better than that. It looks like we'll be able to switch from Leon to Chris... which is cool. But, who was the buzz-cut dude with the blonde girl? :hmmm:

That's a new 3rd playable character that I don't think has been in a game yet :hmmm: I don't recognize him, at least. You can also play as Ada, according to IGN :hmmm:

I'm excited for this, I quite enjoyed RE5 even though I've never technically finished it. I hope the fact that there are now 4 main characters means that there will be 4 player online co-op or something, that would be very good for someone as scared as zombie games as me.

Well, whoever he is he looks awesome. :ohoho: I don't know who Ada is either >.<

the gameplay looks really awesome, though. It looks more free, if ya get what I mean. I like that we'll be able to do the out-of-nowhere button thing, that's always so fun but scary :lew:

I just showed my sister and she's flippin' out :lew: She always goes bonkers for these games.

Oh. My. Gawd. I need this game, after Resident Evil 5 I know this game will not disappoint, now my only trifle is...Assassins Creed III and Resident Evil 6, but Ohh Gawd I need this game like so friggin bad, I can't wait :gonk:

Well, whoever he is he looks awesome. :ohoho: I don't know who Ada is either >.<

How have you never played the first 4 RE games :hmmm: RE4 was so much better than 5 :sad3:

I only got to about 3-3 or so in RE5 at a friend's house, so I'll borrow it at some point to catch up :hmmm: Looks like you can (finally :wacky:) move while you shoot, so that should help out and keep reviewers from complaining :lew:

Here are some more information about Resident Evil 6.

Resident Evil 6 formally announced, out November 20

Capcom has finally announced Resident Evil 6 after months and years of speculation, confirming it for a shocking November 20 worldwide launch

for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

resident-evil-6.jpg

A Japanese launch will take place on November 22, while a PC version will release after the console SKUs make their bow.

The game takes place in China and the US ten years after Resident Evil 2, with Chris Redfield and Leon Kennedy teaming up as the game’s main protagonists. The US president has decided to go public with the Raccoon City incident, but a bioterrorism attack leaves Leon, standing by his leader’s side, with a difficult choice.

In China, Chris Redfield is dealing with a similar attack. Even with support from new characters in the series for the duo, the latest wave of bioterrorism attacks sees the world under its biggest threat ever.

Co-op makes a return following a debut in Resident Evil 5, as well as its standard single-payer.

Development on Resident Evil 6, according to the series’s Twitter account, has been ongoing for two years, a lot shorter than the eight year timeframe given back in 2009 by series stalart Masuchiko Kawata.

Directing RE6 will be Eichiro Sasaki, while Yoshaki Hirabayashi will take over as producer from Jun Takeuchi from RE5. Hiroyuki Kobayashi will be its executive producer.

“Resident Evil 6 represents a giant stride forward in the evolution of the series,” said Capcom’s R&D and marketing head Katsuhiko Ichi.

“The development team, led by Hiroyuki Kobayashi, is working tirelessly to deliver the most impressive Resident Evil title ever both in terms of scope and production values. We are all genuinely excited by the title and cannot wait to share it with the world.”

Kobayashi added: “From the outset the team’s intention was to create an experience that delivers a gripping storyline, tense single-player and co-op action all set against a constant theme of horror. We are calling this fusion dramatic horror and are confident it will resonate with both existing fans of the series as well as newcomers.”

RE6′s pre-order campaign will kick off effective immediately in the US, with Amazon.com, Best Buy and GameStop offering an exclusive for various other modes in the game that will be detailed in the future.

Tonight’s announcement ends a week-long speculation trip on the game, which began when the viral website No Hope Left appeared on Wednesday.

Before the unveil, IGN had gotten hold of posters showing the game’s logo, date and platforms from US retailer GameStop.

VentureBeat first reported the Kennedy/Redfield tag-team earlier in the day.

Hmmmm i hope they return to horror with resident evil 6. Theyl never go back to how it used to be in the old days. Gameplay changed starting with re4. I enjoyed re5 alot but it wasnt a horror game.

-sigh- Leon is awesome and its cool to see him in a PS3 but seriously Chris again.... to hell with chris where the hell is Claire D: shes been left out of RE for a long time now...

And why the hell is Ashley in this! >.<

Even though I'm bishing I'll still play it when it comes out in the US

Finally we can move while aiming. Geez that annoyed me a lot in RE5. I have yet to finish RE5. RE 4 was more tense from what I've played than RE5 IMO. RE5 was tense in the way that aiming was shite as hell and the camera controls.

It felt too clunky. Its good to see RE6 will be more fine tuned.

But as for the horror survival element I'd prefer Silent Hill.
Looking forward to Silent Hill Downpour, but I'll probably buy RE6 as well...maybe...perhaps...

Wow I've been waiting for this! Storywise it looks to be really great. Definitely liking the changes in gameplay also. Cant wait to fight more BOWs! ^o^ I do kind of miss Rebecca though...They never put her in the numbered games. ;-;

it looks like resident modern evil warfare to me :hmmm: i like leon, but even he looked a bit crap in this. i think they're going too much for a fast-paced action spin on the games now, rather than the suspense that made the originals what they were. on paper it sounds like a good idea, but i haven't been impressed at all by the trailer

Extra RE6 info, RE Chronicles HD trailer escape Tokyo

Capcom announced additional details on the newly-announced Resident Evil 6, as well as show off the first trailer for the Resident Evil Chronicles HD Collection.

The anticipated sequel was announced last night for a surprise November launch on PS3 and Xbox 360, and confirmed Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield as its main playable characters.

After its debut trailer aired for the audience, executive producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi, who had been appearing on stage throughout the show, came back out again with director Eichiro Sasaki and producer Yoshaki Hirabayashi by his side.

The three then proceeded to show some of the game’s concepts. Kobayashi promised RE6 would emphasise more on fear this time around with a game of the highest quality.

Besides the previously-confirmed protagonists of Leon and Chris, there’s also a third protagonist who’s name is being kept secret for now by the development team. It was also confirmed that Leon’s partner in the game is a US government agent named Helena Harper.

Both Leon and Chris’s stories, which take place on the tenth anniversary of the Raccoon City incident, will take place at the same time as each other.

The relationship between the unknown protagonist and the girl alongside him shown in the trailer, who looks a lot like Ashley from Resident Evil 4, was teased when it was questioned if they were allies or enemies. The regenerating enemy that was also shown in the debut video is called Javo.

On the gameplay side, players will get a wide array of moves. Hirabayashi promised Resident Evil 6 would be the biggest game yet in the series in terms of scale.

Resident Evil 6 launches worldwide on November 20, with a Japanese release on November 22. A PC SKU will follow the launch of the console versions.

The first trailer for the BioHazard Chronicles HD Collection, as it’s known in Japan, was also shown at the event following its initial announcement back in October.

It will feature the previously Wii exclusive on-rails shooters The Umbrella Chronicles and The Darkside Chronicles for PlayStation 3 at retail and PSN with mandatory PlayStation Move support.

No date was given on its release in Japan other than “coming soon”. A Capcom Europe rep has told VG247 there’s currently no announcement for a European release right now.

Resident Evil: Revelations, Operation Raccoon City get new showings

The event kicked off with a montage of past games in the series from 1-5, as well as glimpses from last summer’s The Mercenaries for 3DS and upcoming titles Revelations for 3DS and Operation Raccoon City for PS3 and 360. RE6 wasn’t among the clip show, however.

After the hosts came out, Kobayashi welcomed those in attendance before leaving the stage and getting on with the introductions of upcoming titles in the series. First off was 3DS title Revelations.

After the game’s Japanese TV ad aired, series producer Masachiko Kawata was brought out on stage to introduce a new trailer, as well as explain the game’s background. The game’s director and producer showed the game off to the audience and those watching online, with its co-op-centric Raid Mode also getting a run out.

Revelations launches in Europe on January 27 in Europe and February 7 in the US for 3DS. A demo is now available in the 3DS eShop in Europe and the US.

Kobayashi then came back to show an FMV-focused trailer for console title Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City for PS3 and 360 from Slant Six. The video featured the game’s playable Umbrella antagonists going up against RCPD forces, as well as those infected.

The trailer didn’t show a date for Japan, but Capcom’s previously confirmed it’ll release in the US on March 24 and March 27 for Europe.

During the show, Capcom was trying its best to tempt fan service into action. After the Revelations demo wrapped up, Kawata went into detail about upcoming merchandise that’d go on sale with the release of the game before leaving the stage.

Following the Chronicles HD Collection announcement, Kobayashi talked about an anime and the launch of Resident Evil STAR and Umbrella-themed glasses, as well as the series’s YouTube and Facebook channels after the Chronicles HD Collection was announced.

The demo for Revelations is pretty scary. So that is a good sign. I'm really excited for this game, I think I've overplayed the trailer so many times now XD

Capcom “not focusing on any previous” titles for RE6′s inspiration

Capcom has said the inspiration for Resident Evil 6 doesn’t come from any specific previous game.

resident-evil-6.jpg

The horror’s debut trailer showed play styles reminiscent of both Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5. RE6′s main playable characters include RE4 and RE5 protagonists Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield.

Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi has told IGN that the team hasn’t been inspired by one single previous game.

“We have a ton of respect for the past RE games. The ways in which they were each able to provide unique experiences is incredibly important,” he said.

“With RE6 we hope to create an even greater game than the previous entries in the series. That being said, we are not focusing on any previous title in particular.

“What we can say though, is that we do consider the things we have learned from previous RE games to be really beneficial as we make this new title.”

Hirabayashi said Leon and Chris are leads because of the “focus on the story,” adding there were still “a lot of characters still to be announced, so we hope everyone will look forward to finding out about them and how they fit into the story.”

Resident Evil 6 launches on November 20 worldwide for PS3 and 360.

Resident Evil 6 takes place in 2013, moving while shooting confirmed

Capcom’s announced additional details on Resident Evil 6, confirming the game will take place in 2013 among other things.

RE6′s debut trailer, released last month alongside the announcement of the horror sequel.

The publisher also specifically nailed down a specific location in China, where co-protagonist Chris Redfield is based in the game: a fictional town called Lanshiang. Before the events of RE6, Redfield went through a personal trauma, but decided to team up again with the BSAA for the ongoing crisis.
As well as Chris and Leon Kennedy, the game will feature a third protagonist as previously mentioned. While this person still hasn’t been named, it’s said he is “currently engaged in a bloody conflict in Eastern Europe, and rather than think about the consequences and implications, he’s thinking “how money he can make from it.”
Additional character profiles have also been released alongside the protagonists backgrounds. Helena Harper, the woman seen with Leon in the trailer, is a government agent currently in the process of transferring to the Secret Service as one of the president’s bodyguards. She is the one who admits responsibility for what’s happened to the president.
Speaking of, the president is not the same as the one who is Ashley’s father from RE4. Rather, he is Adam Benford. He was the one who hired Leon Kennedy following the Raccoon City incident. As shown in the trailer, he becomes infected and becomes a zombie.
Field Operations Support agent Ingrid Hunningan, who supported Leon in Resident Evil 4, also returns for RE6.
Enemies in Resi 6 are said to be “different” from those encountered in past games. Typical zombies will run, jump and even use weapons towards you.
Another enemy in the game is called J’avo. The monster shows some human abilities like understanding human speech, but are otherwise “incredibly agressive”. When it takes damage, the J’avo will be able to regenerate, but if said damage is major, it’ll be able to mutate that part into “a number of varied forms,” meaning players will have to rethink tactics.
Good thing, then, that players will finally be able to move whilst shooting. As well as that, as part of a newly-redesigned control system, you’ll be able to slide, roll and take cover. Melee has also been expanded upon.
Resident Evil 6 launches on November 20 worldwide for PS3 and 360, with a PC version to follow afterwards.

Resident Evil 6 details, screenshots
Story, characters, enemies, and controls.
by Sal Romano [@salromano] at 07:33 AM EST, February 15, 2012 .

RE6_2-15.jpg

Capcom shared new details surrounding Resident Evil 6 today. The info dump clarifies the game’s setting, details key characters and primary enemies, and talks up a redesigned control system. Get it all below, courtesy of Capcom. Additionally, check out a new set of screenshots at the gallery.
Setting – Place
“It has already been revealed that Chris Redfield heads to China during the course of the game but we can now confirm that the main location in China will be a fictitious coastal town called Lanshiang.”
Setting – Time
“There has been some confusion surrounding when the game is set, so to set the record straight Resident Evil 6 takes place in 2013.”
Characters

  • Leon S. Kennedy: Following the Raccoon City incident Leon was recruited as a US government agent by none other than Adam Benford, who would later become the President of the United States. Ever since the nightmare that was Raccoon City Leon has made it his life’s work to eradicate bioterrorism.
  • Helena Harper: Like Leon, she is also a government agent, but was in the process of transferring to the Secret Service to become one of the President’s personal bodyguards. In the announcement trailer it is Helena who admits to Leon that she is the one responsible for this incident.
  • Chris Redfield: The ex-S.T.A.R.S member who continued the fight against bioterrorism as the leader of the BSAA underwent a personal trauma some six months prior to the events depicted in RE6. In spite of this he has rejoined his BSAA colleagues in China to uncover a major bioterrorist attack.
  • The mysterious third protagonist: We’re still trying to track down his real identity but we do know this man is a mercenary currently engaged in a bloody conflict in Eastern Europe where reports confirm that B.O.W.s are increasingly being used. One day, he’s told that he is the man to save the world. Whilst he doesn’t understand the implications of this, he does immediately think how much money he can make from it.
  • Ingrid Hunnigan: A member of Field Operations Support (FOS), Ingrid has been working with Leon for a long time, and they share a mutual trust.
  • Adam Benford: President of the United States and the man who hired Leon after the Raccoon City incident.
Enemies

  • Zombies: Yes they are back, but now they run, jump at you, even use weapons and as such are different from those encountered in previous games.
  • J’avo: Named by the BSAA after the Serbian word for ‘demon’, the first J’avo made an appearance in the conflict zone of Eastern Europe about six months before the action of Resident Evil 6. The J’avo still exhibit certain human elements – such as the ability to understand speech, work together as a group and use weapons – but they are also incredibly aggressive and a number of their actions have regressed to pure instinct. When a J’avo takes damage it has the ability to regenerate itself. However if it is receives major damage then it will mutate that affected body part into a number of varied forms, meaning players will have to rethink their strategy and adapt to this unpredictability.
Redesigned Control System
Resident Evil 6 features an evolved control system allowing players to shoot whilst moving; slide; roll in any direction and to take cover along with the addition of an enhanced melee attack.”
Additionally, new information from Weekly Famitsu reveals the mysterious third protagonist as a character younger players can relate to. Resident Evil 6 is currently 50 percent complete.

So are all the sections going to be co-op in the same way that Resident Evil 5 was? Or will you be able to play without a computer controlled character weighing you down?

It does not matter too much I suppose as I will be playing through the game with Ellie
