So we have the scariest movies thread, well I'm curious at what particular scenes from any movie scared you. It doesn't necessarily have to be from a horror movie either.
Ah yes, and please don't put something like "movie X because actror X's performance was so terrible that it was completely frightening."
Oh and this thread WILL contain spoilers.
Here's mine in no particular order:
1. Carrie. The final scene always makes me jump. The first time I saw the movie I think I was practically screaming bloody murder when I saw Carries bloody arm pop unexpectically from the grave. I always cover my eyes now when that scene comes up.
2. Night of the Living Dead. The part where the daughter, now zombified, kills her mother with the knife. That part is just always too much for me especially since the mother thinks that her sick daughter is finally ok. And just the way it's done disturbs me.
3. The Ring. The opening scene was very well done and truly scared me. Just the way things were happening in the background and the general creepiness of it.
4. Psycho. No not the infamous shower scene, but towards the end when the lady goes up to "mother" and when she turns her around mother is just a rotted corpse sitting in a wheel chair. I seriously expected an old woman to jump up and kill the girl when I first saw it.
5. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I know! I know! But I'll explain. Let's see every time a kid disappears, Charlie asks Wonka what happened to them and we're treated with answers like "Oh that leades to the boiler", "Hopefully they'll squeeze her out in time before she explodes." "She fell into the incinerator." While those lines amuse me now, when I was little and I would watch this movie, that utterly terrified me. I don't think they even say if any of those kids made it out ok.
May post more later.
