"The Moon shines o'er the world
And under it, shall a new world be made
The Old shall fall
Cast asunder
And the new shall rise
Under the shadow of the Beast"

Prophecy of Jel'dalarmath, Third Age

The World of Tormanath is reeling

Less than a thousand years ago, a great battle was fought between an alliance of races and an army of terrible beasts
Great and terrible were the armies that rose and fell in the time of conflict
But in the end, man was victorious, the evil and terrible beast armies were no more, scattered to the four corners of the world.
However, their commander lived, having escaped that last desperate battle, and she fled to her castle deep in the mountains of the Edge of the World, to sit and plot for her day of return once more.
And so the alliance, still reeling after years of battles, broke apart, and settled into a kind of peace.

In the lands of men, the armies scattered, becoming farmers for centuries to revive the desolate land.
In the lands of the Myera -where wingless dragon-like with great powers live in a state of perpetual clan wars- the armies joined and began to remake the lands from which they came.
In the lands of Shaido -where the short, monkey-like people with long tails dwelled among the trees- the armies began to regrow the trees that they so dearly loved.
And in the lands of the beasts -where things that could have only dwelt in nightmares once lived- only one woman remained. Only She began to remake the terrain from which Her beloved army had sprung forth. And only She was a threat to the other lands. For Her time, She promised Herself, would come again.

Centuries have past, and the worlds are once more whole and proud and all the races, even the beasts have once more reached their former glory. And as such, the beasts have once again begun to raid into the other countries, just as a thousand years before. Thus, the high queen of the humans, the great and esteemed Queen Zarsha, has called once more something that the world has not seen in a thousand years.
The Great Hunt has been called.
Warriors from all around the lands have come to the Joint city of Dousetein, ruled by Humans, Myera and Shaido equally, in order to set out into the lands of the Beasts, to slay the nightmares once more.

Thus is the setting, for the great deeds that shall surely follow...

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Kyuin pushed his way through the crowd unhurridely as he made his way towards his favourite tavern. Dousetein was packed for this event, and he for one, was excited.
"Can't stand all these tourists." he heard one Human say to his neighbour as he pushed past, earning glares from the Humans.
He didn't care about the tourists.
He was a lonely traveller, who had a home here in Dousetein, yet only visited once every year or so, and was therefore unrecognised by most locals. But some new him, knew of his exploits in the land of the Beasts, and treated him as some great hero.
Now that, he hated.
Worming his way into a gap in the crowd, he arched his neck to and fro and sighed.
The great square where the hunters were signing up was packed, there were basically no ways in. Humans, the most plentiful of the races, were packed in the square, jostling each other and with a variety of weapons bristling on each one. Shaido, small and wiry were scampering between the feet of the bigger races but even they were feeling the lack of space. The Shaido all carried short bows and spears, though a few that Kyuin could see had daggers.
And the Myera, tall and powerful, even they who were normally given a kind of fear-inspired berth form other races were being jostled. Kyuin's kinsman, were snarling and biting at the air as signified annoyance, yet they were equally as anxious as the other races to sign up to kill Beasts.
Kyuin sighed again and began to push into the great crowd, hoping to get to the sign-in booths quickly, hoping he could make a start as soon as possible.

So... no-one going to join huh?
Well, just as a small kicker, I'll post stuff about the races...

The Myera are a Dragon-like race of people. Generally upwards of six feet in height and of a muscular build. They have elongated necks and thick, powerful tails which generally grow to about four feet in length. Both their spines, tails and edge of forearms and legs have a row of spikes which are about an inch to three inches in length. Their fingers and toes also end in claws. Myera also have thick, sharp fangs and a slightly elongated jaw. It was said that long ago, they also had wings, but nowadays, their shoulder blades are slightly longer than humans, so this theory has been thought on much by Myera scholars. They are covered in variously coloured hard scales which act much like plate armour, but as the Myera grow with the armour, the weight disadvantage of Plate Armour is not a problem. The Myera have no skill in weilding magic on their own, but have a natural resistance to it instead, able to shrug off most medium- and low-level powers with ease. It has also been discovered that the incisors of the Myera have varying types of poison. The variations come between clans and colouring, so blue Myera will usually have a kind of nerve-freezing poison and red will have blood-clotting poison. This poison develops once the Myera hits about 30 and the poison is released only when in danger.

Humans are humans.
skilled in all-around ways, Humans developed to be able to use magic, and fight with all kinds of weapons
They are the procrastinators of the races

The Shaido are a monkey-like race of people, having lived in the tops of their forest for millenia, they have developed as such to adapt to their forest environment. The average Shaido stands about four feet tall, with short, fuzzy fur covering their body (excluding face, palms and bottom of feet) that varies in colour. They have long, thin, whip-like tails which are adept at grasping and grabbing items and tree-branches alike and is as versatile as having an extra arm. Shaido are not a race of great warriors, but instead of great mages, although it was originally thought unlikely by the other races for them to be a great threat, they are masters of magic of all kinds and even the most rudimentary and simple Shaido, has a grasp of all the basic spells. The High Mages rule Shaido society and their society is strict. When a Shaido chooses not to be a mage or one of the coveted vine breeders, they generally turn to thievery, using basic magic to aid in escapes. Although not especially adept with weapons, they can use knives and shortbows to alarming effect.

Thats that...
now just waiting for some joining...
