Ok, I'll be the first to defend Quina. I loved having Quina on my team, he/she could learn some awesome spells from eating enemies. In fact, he/she made many of the boss fights easier because of its Mighty Guard technique. Please people, Quina may be a discusting, fat, whatever the hell it is, but before you judge, C'mon.........Let's all face the facts here, We all love Quina a little bit. ^_^

Anyway, that's what this thread is all about, nobody shows Quina any love, let's all say something nice about Quina for a change. I already went, your turn. I wanna hear the positive, not the negative.

I love Quina's blue magic. She has some really handy abilities too, just...her trance isn't very helpful in boss fights. =\

I've always defended Quina. His/her potential is higher than most party members throughout the majority of the game (towards the end, the rest surpass Quina with their weaponry and skills). As a result, I never passed up an opportunity to allow Quina's Blue Magic to expand. Even the earlier skills learned are damn good.

Quina's forks are good too. Yes, it can be quite annoying getting the Bistro Fork, but the level of power it offers is well-worth it (not to mention the Stop ability on it).

Terrible appearance, but Quina will always be my favourite mage.

Wow, this is great, defenders of Quina. You are totally right about everything you just said.

I agree with you too Nephany, Quina's Trance.....eck...What the hell am I supposed to do, cook the boss? :)

"MmmMmmMmmm...Tasty Kuja...Quina want more." :P

I can't think of anything wrong with Quina. She (it) looks cool with her fatness and her chef hat. She is a great character and always hilarious. I still laugh at the bit in Treno where she dives into the water to drink it and is swept away. Then an old man glances over and says 'Suicide,eh?'. :D
Quina was a great character and I'm glad they included her (it). Even though she didn't contribute to the main plot, it doeesn't make a difference . You can't expect every single party member to be a plot focus, maybe some of them just feel like going along to save (or eat) the world.

I haven't used her a lot to eat stuff but she was still incredibly useful when you have to use her on the lich boss. I ended up using Zidane just to heal her(it).Quina's Aqua Breath did 5000 while Zidane only did 1000-2000.

LOL, oh yea, Quina had some great funny moments in the game. You just made me realize that FFIX might be my favorite one...it's so hard to choose haha. >_<

Quina is a great FFIX character and he/she/it very useful if you take care of him/w/e it's!

Blue Mage is one of my favorite character classes in FF.. and I find his/her (err..?) quote funny. the one in the title screen when you let it stand by.

"Indulgence
I do what I want. You have problem?"

he/she's one good comical relief too. also when the dwarves in conde petie greeted Ralie-ho, Quina said Ralie-ho your face. lol and lastly the frog catching game is fun and unique. that's about it. ^_^

People who really know about FFIX would recognize Quina as the most useful skills in the game and he/she can also do 9999 damage with ease.

Plus he/she uses a fork as a weapon how many characters can you say use a weapon as unique like that?

Did you know that some bosses (like nova dragon!) can be put to sleep with night? Just equip insomniac on your chars let quina do night and attack with magic and bye-bye dragon.

Quina needs some innovation and improvisation to be an outstanding char. You rlly need to know some tricks and you'll find quina being one of your best (if not the best) characters.

Need I say more? xD

Quina is my favourite character in FFIX, hell he's (Quina is probably an 'it' admittedly XD) probably one of my favourites in any FF game. I know he's really odd but it gave a nice touch of humour to proceedings, especially when he tries to eat Gysahl pickles without paying. Or when he gets 'married' to Vivi at Conde Petie. You'll certainlly never forget Quina anyway if you've played FFIX (I remember reading the manual for the first time and wondering 'what the hell is that?!' on the characters' page)

Also I liked Quina's Blue Magic abilities. Nice to see a character like that who was very different from the norm.

Good to see someone putting up a thread in support of Quina :)

i never really cared too much for quina as a fighter although he/she does come in handy at the start of the game where u firt aqquire him

I totally agree. Although I can say that you love the character of Quina more than me, I agree with all your points about how Quina was very different from the norm and how she did add humour to the game. I too was a bit shocked by the character but within the game he/she did give us the wonderful humour of the pickles and wanting to eat everything. I also did love Quina for its Blue Mage skills. The frog catching sub-quest was also a cool little way of getting better items and then having a personal battle with Quale (I think that was the name). Quina did bring something to the game and was a nice, almost sort of dearing character, that really did put question marks over peoples heads. I definately don't think Quina was bad in the slightest.

I actually quite liked Quina, definitely not loved..erm, 'it' XD, but still, Quina had some good qualities out there, even in battle. The blue magic was really handy, and come one, 'Eat', that makes me giggle. ='D

It's more commonly comic relief than anything but hey, Quina is not a bad character at all. Quite unique, but in a weird way.

Amazing, I didn't think this many people would defend Quina, damn...Thank you so much.

well lulu uses a doll, relm uses a brush, dagger uses a racket, and wakka uses a ball.

I never actually hated Quina as a character and I know that I used IT a lot in battle, especially more then Eiko or Garnet. I just thought IT was the strangest looking character I had ever seen since Cait Sith in FFVII. Also, I never really saw It's importance to the story line, She/He did have a pretty good set of abilities.

i understand that this thread is here to show that fat piece of crap some love but i cant show love to something that i have absolutely no love for. it's easily the worst character ive ever seen, its awful in battle (maybe cause i didnt use the fat blob) and its absolutely ineffective to the story. maybe i shouldnt post this in a thread meant to show quina love...oh well i guess i loved to hate it..^_^
