Nintendo So I got a nintendo ds today...

Hi basically my friend had 3 nintendo ds consoles and I jokingly asked if I could have his old one which to my surprise he said yes. The console itself is abit broken but screen is in good condition and I think I can mend the slightly broken hinge

Anyway I was wondering where should I start? its the very first DS console so I dont think you can go online with it (I hope I am wrong) will all ds games (apart from 3ds) work with it? also is it possible to download games onto the console?

Yes all the regular DS games will work on it. No you cannot download games onto it (unless it's a DSi, which wasn't the first console). You can play online if the game has online multiplayer, like Mario Kart 6(?) I think. Don't remember off the top of my head what number the DS one was.

I have a DS Lite with a broken hinge. It's kinda inconvenient but I use a rubber band to hold the hinge in place. Not sure if yours is broken the same way but here's a video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWPNh4zCnOo

As for where you should start... What kind of games do you like? I have a good 40+ games for the DS and there's so much variety and many good games, it's hard to just suggest some without being able to narrow down a little bit.

You can't go wrong with The World Ends With You. Best game on the DS for me and has crap loads of replay value and even a New Game+ type system. Good investment.
