Well, I was viewing this forum and I figured what better way to get acquainted here than by having a traditional sparring match? So, here I am, posting this thread.

Rules:
1) Sword vs. Sword.
2) No elemental powers or techniques
3) Keep your character mortal.
4) Minimum of a two paragraph post. (Paragraph = 5 sentences)
5) One vs. one fight. Me and someone else.

Well, that sums the rules up. So, if you wish to comply, just repost saying you accept the sparring match. That's it. I don't really need to know your character, but if you want to post that, so be it. All I care about is being descriptive and able to put up a good fight. =D

Scene of Battle: The once blood-soaked fields were now a calming and tranquil area. The wars that raged past were mere memories to some and horrific scarred events for others. The reddened field was now a calming green, but it would not last for long. For as the peace was restored to the land, the stilled air would be erupted in clashing of steel.

(Meh. Short, but whatever.)

OOC: I'll take your challenge. For future reference though, if it's an open challenge, you should state it in the title, else people might not join.

I don't think you're allowed to restrict people's abilities though. That's against the rules, though I'll gladly take you on, sword to sword. Before I post, however, you have to make the opening post. I can't reply to something that's not there :D

OOC: Every forum is different. Most of them I go to don't require you to do such things, like post open in the title. Meh. Anyways, as for restricting abilities, I think it should be able to since it is a thread with rules. As for my character name, I'll just use Virat.

The cloudy overcast began to cover the sunned soaked fields as the skies above began to inch closer and closer. The sun that was once revealed on the plain was soon forgotten as it was taken over by the shadows within a matter of minutes. The winds still strolled across the plain, lifting the spirits of the grass to dance and twirl with each passing breath. But there was an oddity in the field, one that did not allow the grass to move. His seating position covered the darkened grass, weighting it down. With the shifting winds, only his cloak was beginning to flicker to such an extent. The body of the man seemed to be in a meditating position; his eyes closed, arms laid horizontally across the criss-crossed legs. As the winds began to accelerate across, his eyes shot open and with it he rose to standing proportions.

As he stood there, the grass came to a creeping stand with him and soon danced with the rest in unison. His entire body could be scene upon rising and with it, a weapon as well. Looking to be covered from the bottom half of his face to his lower ankle regions in a cape, a traveler presence could be scene. The hair that flapped atop his head became visible with color in the shifting of shadows. It flickered between a darkened and lightened brown. The weapon concealed in his cloak began to become exposed as he moved the fabric back to reach for the hilt hidden in the sheath. Touching it with the will to make a first move, he listened to the gusts alone for any disturbances in the air. As he gazed around the scenery with his eyes, his mouth began to open, "Show yourself. I know you're here."

OOC: Sorry it is a tad short, but I hate opening posts. =/

OOC: I'll use Hera Ledro (sorry, I can't post the link. URL stuff is funky today). If you want to view it, check it out in Galbadia Gardens.

IC: Hera walked out, curious as to the strange presence that had entered the scene.

"Show yourself?" Hera inquired, his deep, pure voice resounding through the area. "I've only just arrived. I can't 'show' myself if I've only just arrived."

Hera drew his sword, the Dragon Blade, the six-foot beast hanging from his grasp lightly. Hera was always delighted as to how light it was, and how easy it was to swing, especially since it was a zweihander blade. Dragon Magic is wonderful, he thought.

"I come not in harm, but curiosity. You have a warrior's presence, so I wouldn't be surprised if you challenged me. Why don't I challenge you instead? It'll make a much more interesting battle. A human against an Allsie."

The wind blew, and Hera allowed his wings to emain folded against him, the gusts trying to rip them open. His blue fur was pushed against his body beneath him, and his tail wagged in anticipation from behind. He loved to fight, and his warrior blood was boiling with excitement. Maybe I should hold back my magical abilities, thought Hera. It'll make for a more interesting battle.

In an instant, Hera unfolded his wings and revealed everything underneath them, his sword's sheath hanging on his back from the belt that stretched accross his body. "Will you accept?" Hera said, his black hair billowing in the wind.
