Square Enix to announce a new game this week [8/30]

Square Enix Assistant Director of Operations, Franko Fonseca, has revealed that Square Enix is set to announce a brand new game this week – one which he will be credited as an assistant producer in.

“I’m excited, the first game I have an [Assistant Producer] credit in is being announced this week,” he wrote in a Twitter update.

That was it. As to what it is, he provided no hints. We’re as clueless as anybody else on this.

Bah these little things. Ill see what it is though if they truly announce one this week. But really all I want is Versus XIII most. Se :ffs:
 
so another game they are wasting their time on? its just an announcement about a game yet to be developed...:(

I hate these handheld crap games..and bs projects...yet people buy those things as hotcakes...keep feeding SE you little children :awesome: this way SE will never learn though....
 
I sort of think...Square-Enix should stop developing crap. It's a massive problem, they focus too much on developing more and more games as possible to see if they can raise profit regardless of what the fans think. I doubt many people generally care about ideas that come out of a western Square-Enix.

I can't see it being a very interesting game either. D=

It can't be anything like DQX or KHIII at all because this obviously isn't Square Enix Tokyo, and besides TGS is coming anyway in a few weeks. Any "announcement" here will just be a low-key title that people will care little about.

But still - why the heck they are announcing more and more (probably worthless) games to add to an already huge pile of games in the development stage is beyond me.

Because they want Nomura to go bald by the time he's 50 :gasp: ...and I'm saying this because I'm sure they have him working on a load of projects at one time...and I'd be fried if I were him.

I'm not excited about this title either. Another FUUUUUUUU @ SE :rage: ...Only when they release Versus will I be pacified.
 
I wish it were Dragon Quest but for the Playstation 3 :sad3: It won't be though, I don't even know how Square-Enix credit themselves to that series since the only title they've developed is Dragon Quest and that was co-developed with Level-5 who undoubtedly had the biggest developing role to play.

It will undoubtedly be something people care less about, when I was starting to archive-link together the news there were titles they'd announced for EU/NA that haven't see the light of day since.
 
dragon quest on Ps3 would be so awesome. Like I am enjoying IX so much. But its on DS. If it were something like 360 or ps3 for the next one ill be so amazed. But DQ X will probably be out in 3-5 years :hmmm:

Regarding Dragon Quest, I reckon it's gonna be the announcement of DQ VI: Realms of Reverie for DS for NA/EU. It's already been released on DS in Japan for almost a year... so it's about high time they localize it. Because while the OP says 'brand new game' there's nothing in the Tweet that says 'brand new'...

After that, they -may- remake VII for the PS3 which would be epic.. and then after that, they would probably do X. So probably not for a few years unfortunately. =/
 
Dragon Quest (Use to warrior lol) would be awesome on a platform, especially PS3 or an Xbox. But I see them releasing it for Wii, if any system, just seems like they would. :/

But yeah, I'm not really interested in what the Western branch has to offer. The stuff I want get's developed by the Japan team, so meh.

All these new games slow down the developments of the games people really want from SE.............FF(mainly) ,KH and Dragon Quest

And even if this "new game" looks and sounds amazing by the time it gets released it'll be when I'm like 50 anyway..............

I woulda rather preferred it if they announced a new FF game..........even though it might take ages.........But the only FF's to look forward to now is FF versus XIII and agito.............these games should be done in like 2 years,if not next year (hopefully).
 
I hope this is something to look forward to. Is it a new standalone game or franchise? What ever it is, I hope this assistant director gives us something good. Do we know anything about any games he has previously worked on?
