Square Enix’s “Project X”, which is a “shocking”, most likely western RPG that will “blow your socks off”, is not the rumored Final Fantasy project Fortress, Square Enix Director of Business Development and Executive Producer David Hoffman confirmed on Twitter today.

“I have and had no involvement in the rumored project Fortress,” Hoffman wrote in a Twitter update.

I guess that’s ruled out.

No surprise there, if anything I'm surprised Fortress was even brought up. That being said, I'm glad since it never looked any good anyway imo.
 
And the "surprise" aspect of the announcement returns. If it had been Fortress, it would have been no surprise anyway. It's not like another sequel to FFXII would have been wholly unexpected......or wanted anyway.

But still....who was it that suggested that it could have been Fortress? I never had the impression that SE wanted Fortress to be an actual RPG anyway.
 
Thank fuck, that would have been wasted 'good' news if it were.

I kinda speculated that it may be Fortress. :monster:
 
Oh this is good news *throws fortess out of the party* So now Im more excited that its gonna be an all new RPG :awesome:

It'd be hella funny to find out that this is *BUHM BUHM BUHM* a Final Fantasy VII spin-off game about some nobody character.

Oh great, thanks for giving them the idea. We all know they just copy and paste fan fiction for FFVII spinoffs, but this is the greatest idea yet. They'll steal this and churn it out next year and fans will love it, and I will die a little more inside.

Besides, how else is SE going to get enough money to make that next mediocre RPG that they're going to come out with? Milking a mediocre video game, that's how! :elmo:

Frankly, milking a game for good multiple spin offs is the only thing they're good at.

Wait did I say good at? I meant ruining.
