Resident Evil: Break Point

The helicopter soared over the desolate slums of Kijuju, the cerulean morning blue sky beamed down onto the hot land. Sheva grasped her precious diamond necklace and held it to her chest whilst briefly closing her eyes. Taking in deep steady breaths Sheva was preparing herself for her first mission, she had been assigned to check out the Kijuju slums and to report any suspicious happenings. The helicopter began to lower towards a sand covered road which ran through a small section of Kijuju. The habitats slowly backed away, hiding away from the vehicle as it landed on the ground, Sheva hopped out of the side and onto the ground, bringing herself to her feet she looked around, the people scowling and almost growling at her. Sheva turned to her partner manning the chopper.

“Good luck. Keep your guard up, Sheva.” Josh said, adding some of his useful advice.
“Don't worry, Josh, everything will be fine.” Sheva said, half smiling.
“If you see anything suspicious, contact me immediately.” Josh replied.
“I'll be fine!” Sheva laughed.

Josh had a worried smile before Sheva ordered him to return to base. The chopper was soon out of sight and Sheva made sure she had all her equipment, she took out her handgun and checked it's current capacity before returning it to its sleeve. She stepped across the street her hands behind her back admiring the Kijuju slum. The people had hidden themselves away from her into the shadows, they were holding onto the sides of buildings poking their heads round to watch Sheva, it was as if she was something terrestrial. Sheva nervously shifted part of her fringe to the side and quickly stepped away. As Sheva approached a tight alleyway, she noticed that she was constantly being watched, and as she stepped further away from the people, they followed behind and would hide from her when she would face them. A man approached Sheva from the end of the alleyway, he had half red eyes and scarring on his face. Sheva observed his every move, squinting her eyes at the appropriate time.

“What is it you desire here?” He asked, in a rough voice.
“I have come to observe Kijuju.” Sheva replied bravely.
“These people don't need you to babysit. You may leave.” He said.

Sheva regarded the man, he seemed to be a spokes person for the slum, the people began to slowly gather around as if it was a big event. Sheva glanced around her and as the man stood up straight her looked her up and down. Sheva took a deep breath and swallowed her pride for a moment. The man stepped closer to her, from this distance, Sheva could smell his essence, he released a rotting smell that made Sheva cower to the side and cover her nose and shut her eyes.

“You are no longer welcome here, leave now.” He said sinisterly.
“I mean no harm.” Sheva replied.
“There is nothing for you to see, return to where you came from.” He insisted.
“What is it you are hiding here?” Sheva asked promptly.
“I am not going to ask you again...” He said, his tone turned harsh and his expression began to boil.

“Okay, let's calm down...” Sheva said edging backwards.
“Leave!” He roared, before rushing at Sheva.

Sheva dodged out of the way as the man ran into a crowd of people, Sheva ran up the alleyway as a horde chased her. Sheva sprinted across a road revealing her handgun, a woman stepped out a ran towards Sheva. She aimed her handgun at the woman's knee cap and shot, she fell to the ground and Sheva removed her knife and impaled the woman. Sheva looked up to see the angered man point at Sheva, releasing two more people. Jumping to her feet, Sheva shot towards one of the people knocking them down before shooting the other. Sheva made a quick escape behind the back of a small hut and stopped behind it catching her breath.

“Get her, and bring her to me!” The angered man shouted at the top of his voice.
“Shit...” Sheva said breathing heavily.

Sheva scanned the area for an escape route, she noticed a broken chain fence and sprinted towards it and through it running into some tall grass she ran until she couldn't see the slum anymore. She removed her cellphone and dialed for Josh, but she had no signal in range. Sheva, in anger, threw the phone to the ground and fell to her knees and looked up to the young sky. She knew that she couldn't stay in the same place too long because she was now wanted by an angered mob of...what she could only describe as monsters. Sheva admitted to herself that she had never seen anything like it before, they all had the same dark red eyes and the same stench. Sheva had heard of the happenings in Raccoon City and the rest of the US and how something had spread that made people become monsters that would prey on the living...was it the same here? It definitely wasn't as bad as that, but it sure was edging onto something similar. Sheva came to her feet, picking up her phone at the same time. She reloaded her handgun and pushed on, she knew that in her area were a couple more slums, and they would all hunt Sheva...but what for?

“Something is going on here...” Sheva said, both hands on her hips.

Sheva grasped her handgun and pushed her way through the tall grass, almost hiding herself from anyone searching for her. In the distance, she could see a slum, where she noticed the same people scouting around. Sheva didn't know what had happened to them, but something had for sure. She had to get back in and interrogate someone, it was the only thing she could do to understand what was going on. Sheva approached the side of slum fence where she slowly crept around a corner to take a glance into the slum. A woman was being dragged along the rough ground, they were kicking and screaming. Sheva watched as someone covered her mouth and took her inside a hut where the door was slammed shut and everything was muted. Nobody was around and Sheva sprinted to the back of the building and looked through the back window and watched as the woman was grabbed by the neck and held in position. Sheva heard the sound of a chainsaw roar and her eyes widened as the woman was decapitated. Sheva ducked behind the wall and covered her mouth to hold in the vomit, she spat it out the floor... what was happening?

“Hey!” A voice whispered behind Sheva, making her look behind her quickly.
“Who are you?” Sheva asked, the man stood proud.
“Chris Redfield, BSAA... and you?” He replied.
“Sheva Alomar.” Sheva said, taking Chris' hand and coming to her feet.
“Why did you come here? It is not safe.” Chris asked.
“I could ask you the same thing.” Sheva replied crossing her arms.
“Well, we don't have time, come on!” Chris said pulling himself over a small wall.

Sheva quickly followed Chris over the wall and landed on the over side. Finally, she had someone human to interact with. Chris was here for some reason, he wasn't part of her department. Whoever he was, he knew something and Sheva was certain to find out what he knew and why the people are killing one another. Sheva approached Chris sharply, and was ready to ask him her questions. But as Sheva was about to, Chris told her that the people had been infected with an enhanced version of the Las Pagas parasite and were named the Majini, they were deadly and brutal. Before Sheva could ask anymore, they were approached by a group of angered Majini.
